  1. A double coated breed such as an Aussie Shepherd or a Sheltie look a million dollars after a good brush, bath and blow dry, it is the blow dry that really fluffs their coats up.
  2. Capstar, here is a recent post. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=117776
  3. We start ours at 3.5 weeks on raw mince and gradually add in Nutro Natural Choice Puppy, we use their mini formula which is chicken based and add a little warm water, by the time they are ready to go to their new homes they are able to eat it as dry. We leave adding chicken wings and sardines to their new parents.
  4. There are supermarket foods, premium brands and then super premium which include Nutro Natural Choice and Royal Canin. Suggest when choosing a food that you look at the ingredients and guaranteed analysis
  5. As others have said it can be a food intolerance, many wont tolerate beef. Also check the ingredients in the dry food, esp. the grains e.g. corn and wheat. Some dogs are celiac, i.e. like us they have an intolerance to wheat.
  6. Austen if your dog is skinny then perhaps you should look at a High performance food, Nutro's is called Adult Performance and it is formulated for highly active working dogs and those that have trouble maintaining weight.
  7. Methinks perhaps your dog is having you on?. We have been feeding Nutro for just over 7 years, we have 5 shelties and a birman, and have raised 4 litters on Nutro as well. We feed Nutro as the basis of their diet, then sardines, Ziwipeak and chicken wings.
  8. We feed Nutro Natural Choice to our dogs and stop puppy food at 12 months. With a Large Breed Dog (one that will mature to over 20 kg) the recommendation is that you feed to approx 15 months, whereas with the giant breeds, Saints etc the recommendation is to feed until 18 months. We feed chicken wings rather than bones and also use Ziwipeak and Sardines, but Nutro forms the main part of their diet.
  9. Filtabac can be used on both horses and dogs. It is a sunscreen as well as an antibacterial cream
  10. I had a mobile service in Maleny but have all but given it up, still have all the equipment though, but am in Woodford. Magthedag also used to do dog grooming and has a cocker, perhaps she has the necessary equipment?.
  11. Nutro Natural Choice, we have been feeding for over 7 years and raise our litters on it as well.
  12. Kibble is dried food, rather than a biscuit which you may give as a treat. There are many many dried products available, if you use the search feature (and type in more options) on these forums, and type in kibble, or a brand of kibble such as Nutro, Royal Canin, Eukanuba etc etc it will give you threads where such products have been dicsussed. Here is a link to start you off http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?act=...ghlite=%2BNutro
  13. We have been using Advantix with no problems, we started our puppy with Advantix when she was 8 weeks. We also have a birman cat and whilst we dont use Advantix on him he has thus far had no side effects from the dogs. Suggest you look here as is the cheapest for flea and tick preventative products.http://www.pricelesspets.com.au/
  14. When doing the horses, sunlight soap first and then the whitening shampoo.
  15. Nicestman77 a member of these forums, he's in Moruya, NSW, great service, really helpful and for many years was a professional dog groomer.
  16. The horse shampoos are great, but you must be careful that you dont use a black highlighting shampoo on the whites, nor on a red dog.
  17. Is this of any help?. http://www.dogs4sale.com.au/Clubs_Organisations_Qld.htm BTW fencer is here and hope to be up and running mid Oct. Please email ;)
  18. There is also a discussion in the puppy thread started by myself which is in the photo section, with a link to some websites. When you want to weight the ears you need to just do the top third of the ear. If you are having a problem now once you weight the ear be very vigilant and keep them weighted until at least 9 months old.
  19. We feed Nutro Natural Choice as the basis of their diet. It is a super premium food which can be fed on its own. We add chicken wings, sardines, and a small amount of Ziwipeak. Our all have nice firm stools which are not smelly.
  20. Sorry we have no experience there but hope that all goes well with Payton
  21. Tramissa, senior is the one in the silver bag, adult light is in a brown bag. It certainly sounds as if there is something which is not agreeable to your girl. Here is a link to Nutro's website and in particular the senior food which gives you the info which you need, but the problem would be working out which of the ingredients is the cause. This could only be done by a skin specialist who would be able to do allergy tests. http://www.nutroproducts.com/ncdry-sen.shtml Before you switch to another brand would suggest that you also do a comparison of ingredients just to make sure it doesnt contain the same as is in Nutro.
  22. Tramissa which of the Nutro products is your girl on? am surprised you mention staining as this often comes with added colourants and Nutro dosnt contain these. As far as the weight issues are concerned trust you are feeding as per the recommended daily allowance given on the back of the bag. There is no point in cutting back on the amount of food to feed if you are feeding the wrong formula. As with any product there is a formula for over and under weight dogs.
  23. MrsD, sounds as if it was the way the bag was handled. A shame that you emptied it and mixed it with other food and a shame that you didnt make further enquiries with those in the know about the smell. lynlovesdogs, Nutro is NOT Nutrience, Nutro is Nutro Natural Choice.
