Dol Cookbook- Please Help Support
ShesaLikeableBiBear replied to ShesaLikeableBiBear's topic in General Dog Discussion
Steve, Lesley has ordered three. So we can then make a separate order for another 10 from the MDBA? 109 and counting, come DOLers, let's try to get this figure up to 120 by Tuesday Thanks again everyone for your support. Once we have the initial print run and people can actually see the finished product am sure we can sell more. :D -

Smisch we need a minimum of 100 books sold in the first instance to fulfil a print run, after that it will be a minimum of 25 books at a time for a further print run. Perhaps once the book is out and people can see it in its 'glory" we can sell more. We have 82 "pre-sold" so far and hopefully if we get the 100 by the end of the w/e we can then ask for payment and full steam ahead. -
This isn't really a thread for the Show Ring but I thought there would probably be a better response here from those who may have a Twin tank bath from The Barf Shop who are closed now for the long w/e. I have sprung a leak from the rinse water tank. On the back of the bath on the left hand side (opposite the controls) there is an overflow valve. It is shaped like an L with a rubber "O"ring. The whole piece has come out. I need to thread it back but was wondering if there was a part missing?. There is just the L and the rubber "O" ring. Has anyone else had this problem?. Would like to get some of the dogs bathed over the w/e. otherwise will have to wait until The Barf Shop open again on Tuesday. Many thanks

Thanks, Scarlet. In my OP: "We will require payment for the book prior to going to publication, to ensure that no one is left out of pocket." Once we have the 100 required for a print run we will ask all who are after a book to make the payment, hopefully the book will be out by late June, if not earlier. -

Harley, link for original thread in OT http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...aising+Cookbook. There have only been two recipes for dog treats so we have decided just food for Homo Sapiens. -

You can buy as many as you like. I have started a thread in Offtopic for a design for the front cover. ;) -
We are hoping to proceed with the publication of the Cookbook in July but need first to ascertain how many books we can sell. We have just over 300 books pre-sold, with over 250 recipes. The cost of the book will be $15.00. plus postage All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to MDBA Pacers. We will require payment for the book prior to going to publication, to ensure that no one is left out of pocket. I HAVE TODAY CHANGED THE TITLE OF THIS THREAD TO MAKE PEOPLE MORE AWARE THAT THE PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THIS BOOK ARE GOING TO MDBA PACERS. THIS HAS BEEN OUR INTENTION FROM THE OUTSET BUT FOLLOWING THE TRAGEDIES OF THE LAST FEW DAYS WE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE EVERYONE MORE AWARE OF WHERE THE PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE ARE GOING.

Was sent this today from my Mum, entitled "Another Problem Caused by Deforestation" .

We have a Birman 18 months old, he doesn't come into the house much as hasn't learnt to use the pet door and am sure he feels he will be mobbed by the dogs-7, but sleeps inside at night. Four of the dogs were used to our previous Birman. McGinty has no fear of walking in the paddocks with the horse, sheep and alpaca. At least he hasn'e been right out to visit the cattle yet.

Make up a compress of warm and cold cabbage leaves for her nipples, works wonders, method given to me by my vet in NZ. Try a petstore near you for formula. -

If it is questions relating to the laws pertaining to charities and the MDBA Pacers Constitution, I would not have the foggiest idea Surely the MDBA can answer these questions?.
-
Megz, the question concerning copyright has already been discussed at some length in the original thread in OT. I have been in touch with a publisher who "do nothing" but fundraising books for schools, sporting clubs, hospitals etc and the question of "using others recipes" has been discussed in detail.

Suggest you PM Miss Monaro, she lives in DB but don't think she visits General Dscussion much and therfore unlikely to see your post.

There has been a suggestion of a DOL Fundraising Cookbook to raise funds for either rescue/MDBA pacers and there have been many recipes posted to the thread in Offtopic. It would bee good if we can get this idea off the ground, and see it through until publication. Am not sure what is happening to our correspondence but I have yet to receive a reply to my email to you, Julie, of 06 Apr concerning the cookbook.

For some reason the link for results does not have shelties, it goes from Sharpei to Shiba Inu
