Looking good BB -
Thanks, fifi, thought it may have been me being bitchy, but absolutely loathe people who post on here and can't be bothered checking their spelling and/or grammar.
-
inez, I am finding your posts rather hard to understand and follow. Am sorry I don't know how to quote from a previous post but perhaps you may enlighten us as to your statements?. e.g. "another i watched unfold was another friend who has successive show bought" and "to be run on shown overseas then come". As a breeder of over 25 years, as your avatar claims, please can you try and explain yourself a little better and perhaps check your spelling and grammar before posting. YES I am being bitchy here

Litters Due June 2010

Our litter are three weeks old tomorrow, Bree still has plenty of milk and they are porkers. We are giving a little food twice a day and will continue to do so, increase the amount each day and introduce another two feeds. We have not weaned quite this early before but if the litter are happy to take the food so be it. We have started doing this in consultation with the owner of the stud dog and a friend who breeds shelties, both of whom have in excess of 55 years experience in breeding. -

TS, if we put ours on the scales they would break them Having gone through the mental block with worming, yes am hopeless , will worm Bree tomorrow -
Having mentioned earlier that we would leave the pups in our Granny Flat, we have today moved them into our living room, where I can waste even more time in the day.

Thanks, Team Snag will leave worming Bree until 01 Aug. We have moved the pups into the living room. Gt Gt Gt Grandma, Gt Grandma, Grandma and Gt Uncle Panda have taken up sentry duty, whilst Uncle Odin has no idea what to make of them Bree is a little unsure having the family around her but she will settle. NOT looking forward to worming when they can see. -
A zoomgroom would be good http://www.thevetshed.com.au/product_info....products_id/739. Sardines as in at the supermarket, sardines in oil, we use salmon oil capsules. Google will help you there, we bought ours on line.

Have had a memory lapse AGAIN I usually worm the dogs with Sentinel Spectrum on the 1st of the month. Bree was wormed in April before she was mated and wasn't wormed in June. I gather I will need to leave worming her until 01 August at which time the pups will be well and truly weaned. They were wormed at 2 weeks. -
Vetadine is an iodine based shampoo for non-specific skin conditions which does not have to be washed off and will help with dandruff.

Shelby, Bree is quite concerned when the pups make that wee "ruff" noise, methinks we will be in for some fun and games very very soon. Am mixing up a little Farex original baby cereal with Pal puppy milk and boiling water and they are not adverse to it. ;) Will start them on mushed puppy food and premium mince next week. -
Could have given him away at 4 months, trouble is I bred him and he is a bi-black ;)

All litters expected for June have arrived, some with sadness, but unfortunately that is part of what happens with breeding. Hope that all those puppies which have arrived safely are doing well. We have just started weaning, they are not taking much but every little bit counts. -
Any Boarding Kennels Close To Brisbane City?
ShesaLikeableBiBear replied to dammit's topic in General Dog Discussion
Brisbane Pet Motel, Boondal. Firethorn, Glenview. (Not far from Ettamogah Pub) Both have good reputations. Aussie Pet Resort, Woodford- may be out of your way. Have boarded my cats there. Lovely staff, owner is a vet nurse. Maroochy Boarding Kennels, Kunda Park (Maroochydore), my Mother has used them since 1995. -

Thanks for all the photos Newfiesrus, sorry that you and Poppy had such a rough time, and that she had to be speyed, but as Shelby said it could have been worse. Hope all well otherwise?. Look forward to updates. -
Five on my bed and the entire male in a sof- crate in the living room. PS During the day they are generally on snooza pet futons in the living room, sometimes on the leather couches or outside on canvas beds, it's up to them as we have a pet door so they have free access to where they want to be.

Our litter born on 12/06/2010 were whelped at the veterinary clinic as our bitch need assistance, they were brought home in a wickerwork basket with a towel to lie on, under which was a hot water bottle. They are in our self contained granny flat, where I slept for the first few nights. Generally stay in there 2-3 weeks, but these are porekrs with no feeding issues. They are in a corner of the GF in a whelping box (it is cardboard as I can't currently move our kenol), free from drafts, with a vet bed under the box so they are not on the floor. The box is lined with newspaper and then a vet bed which I change daily. They have a heat lamp on 24/7 and at night I put on the a/c and set it to 22C. They are checked regularly throughout the day. When they get to the stage of being able to get out of the box, I will move it onto a piece of cheap lino (Bunnings again), line that with newspaper, and set the puppy pen up. At this stage we are keeping the litter so they can stay there. With previous litters I have brought them into the house at 3 weeks but we have a very small living room which will be impossible with a puppy pen with four pups and six adults, we would need to move out Our last litter we only had the two pups so it was not so much of a problem. We will introduce them to noises such as a TV going, radio, vacuum cleaners etc. At four weeks, if it is warm I will start taking them into the garden for a few minutes each day and increase the time out as they grow. At 8-10 weeks old those that we are keeping will have a sofcrate to sleep in.
