  1. We use Southern Cross Veterinarians at Woodford, they do have a clinic at Wamuran. Woodford opens at 8.00am 54961166. PS Wamuran would be at the most 10 minute drive from the centre of Caboolture i.e. King Street where the Council Chambers are located, and Woodford a 20 minute drive. There is another clinic in Wamuran but from what I have heard on the grapevine, not to be recommended.
  2. RL, posted in your thread in Health and Grooming, but have popped in here and just saw your post. It was a very difficult decision for you to make. :p Zara shared the same birthday as my girl, Jemma, who was 8 yesterday
  3. Unfortunately there does not appear to be a sure way to get rid of Cane toads, although we have had fewer in our house yard in the last two years than we had when we first moved here. We do not leave our dogs outside after it gets dark, and I do a cane patrol every morning before letting our dogs out.
  4. 3/4 of the purchase price plus all the training advice is MORE than a fair offer. I have a 10 month old dog here who is driving me scatty, in many more ways than one, and would dearly love to send him back to his breeder, only problem is I bred him and have kept him as he is a bi-coloured sheltie.
  5. Have been over that Aziah, had a friend on the phone and we went over all of that. How do you do a screen dump?. Have in fact uninstalled it, re downloaded and it came back with all the same dogs again Will look at it again tomorrow as at the moment am about to have a hissy fit trying to work out what is wrong:laugh:
  6. Have been using Entry Form Australia last year with Windows 7 with no problems. I have recently purchased a new computer and have downloaded the programme from lottobreakers. For some reason I can't bring up the preview button. Have checked and re-checked all dog details, all show details etc etc. The preview button is "flat". Have un-installed programme, re-installed and the same thing is happening, any suggestions?. What other programmes are available?.
  7. Congratulations to all the winners.
  8. Erny, the Cardiologist was very surprised that the Dermatologist didn't check Panda's T4 levels.
  9. Panda was diagnosed with Hypo-thyroidism in 2008. His symptoms included general lethargy, overweight, loss of coat, and a ""dirty" brown colour to his skin. He was seen by a specialist dermatologist (at great expense) who diagnosed "follicular dysplasia". Unfortunately the specialist did not check his T4 levels and it wasn't until he "collapsed" after a hydrotherapy session and his heart was checked out by a Cardiologist who suggested checking out the T4 levels that the problem was finally "seen to". Panda is on 1/2 tablet of thyroxine, x2 daily and is now fit and healthy with a lovely thick coat again.
  10. Am so sorry to hear your sad news Run free, Zara
  11. RL1, SO very very sorry to hear your news. Hope you can spend quality time with her in the short time left to you. from our clan, and slobbery from Skye who is seeing Rowan on Thursday.
  12. WEIA, our thoughts are with your family at this sad time. I remember well Rocky at Lure Coursing and seem recall him crashing into the barrier at the end of the course on one occasion, perhaps that is the time you have mentioned. R.I.P. Rocky
  13. Am not so sure about Stitch's recommendation. In 2009 Panda was showing some symptoms of hypothyroidism - rusty brown tone to his skin, lethargic, weight gain, loss of coat. He was mis-diagnosed with NO blood tests done to check T4 levels. As a specialist I would have thought that the person would have picked this up?.
  14. Wondoan, please can you clarify that the Friday night show is at Wondai?. The venue is not given on DOGS QLD website, under Latest News, nor is the show schedule in DOG World. Please can you also advise the entry fee.?.
  15. Shows have been re-scheduled from late January. 2010 shows were Kingaroy CH. Saturday morning, Open show Wondai Sat evening and Wondai Ch Sunday. 2011 will be Friday night at Wondai? am not 100% clear on the venue. Kingaroy Saturday morning and Saturday evening, and then Wondai Sunday morning. Monday will be at Eidsvold. Have written to organisers for clarification as not 100% clear here. http://www.dogsqueensland.org.au/News.aspx?id=287
  16. We have 8 shelties here, 4 of whom were on the US made Nutro product, until approx 3 years ago, when it was "pulled" from the Australian market. We have tried other products, including the Australian made Nutro, and whilst we have been happy with Nutro, Black Hawk offers us just as much, if not more, in the quality of ingredients. We are more than happy with the results in terms of condition of our dogs coats, stool content, etc etc etc and Black Hawk is cheaper than Nutro, which goes a long way when one has a number of dogs to feed.
  17. Sorry to hijack your post OP. Oakway, interested to "see" you do house-sitting, we may contact you in the future. Only problem is we have stock, other than dogs, that need to be checked.
  18. Have clipped matted dogs in the past but those two photos leave me absolutely speechless. Rainy, you have asked for pictures of a slightly matted dog, but I would use these for your son's project as it shows not only how important regular brushing is but how little some people care about their so called 'friends". Every little "bit of education" re looking after your animals is IMHO important.
  19. Great to hear that you have had a good start with Rowan
  20. RL1, not long now until your appointment with Rowan. Hope all goes well I must agree with Rottifan re QVS. I took Panda there in Dec 2007. He was at the time lethargic, carrying too much weight, his skin tone was rusty, and his coat was so bare I was loath to give him a brush for fear he would come out totally bald. :D . The "specialist" (at great cost) told me he had follicular dyspalisia, and that his coat would never grow back. Had the vet been the specialist he was meant to have been, he should have recognised the classic symptoms of hypothyroidism. Panda was diagnosed with this in June 2008 and has been on thyroxine since and has never looked better. His weight is down, his skin is a normal colour, he is full of energy, and his coat is long and glossy again.
  21. RL1, it was another dog who had the appointment to see Rowan. I am taking Skye to see him on 17 March
