  1. Hi guys In a tragic turn of events my best mate was killed 2 sundays ago I was at phillip island for the v8 supercar racing, and dad was camping in the bush as they had done many times a year for blueys whole life. Dad was with another vehicle for the weekend, and he had pulled over to chainsaw some firewood while the 2nd car caught up. Bluey jumped out of the truck and started milling around as he does. Soon after, the 2nd 4wd approached, in first gear, barely moving at all, and dad yelled out to bluey to get off the track which he did. Then, for whatever reason, Bluey just wandered right under the front wheel. 4 years ago his senses were that sharp that you couldnt TRY and catch him with a car, but in his older age it seemed he just had a lapse in concentration. Amazingly, he got up, and apart from looking shaken he ran around the truck and jumped back into dads 4wd and lay on his bed with his head on his paws. Dad checked him out, nothing felt broken, no blood, not even crying. Thinking he was the luckiest dog alive they packed up and set off to get him to a vet for a checkup... However about 5 mins up the track, dad looked back to see he was now lying on his side. He knew it wasnt good, as on rough tracks Bluey never lies down, he braces himself between the 2 front seats. So dad stopped and went to see him, and he had a few short breaths left before passing away Sorry for the long story, but it just fills me with pride that the little kid somehow found the energy to get back into his own 4wd. Thats where he wanted to go. RIP mate
