Thinking About This Whole Pit Bull Thing
RottnBullies replied to amy_h's topic in General Dog Discussion
Grow up, That's not what I said, and stop putting words in my mouth Look I can do these too I gave you a list of things they can and do excel at, there are plenty of 'other' working fields out there that are better suited to other breeds, that I didn't mention. Like It or not they are a great all round dog, whether you acknowledge It or not -
Irrelevant! As you know newspapers write what sell. I'm sure the SPCA would still be outraged If they were adults with no problems who were PTS because of breed, and not given a chance to be re homed, and so would many others
-
Yes, owners were Irresponsible, BUT and I repeat BUT these poor pups were not even given a chance to be re homed, and that's the point of It all And I do read the pound threads, yes many are PTS, but most are given a chance again to be RE HOMED!!!
-
What did those poor little puppies do wrong God damn SHAME on you Invercargill City Council

Oh I love Angel In the pool Thanks JS, I will try and give that a go next time round :nahnah:

lol Thanks Ruth, they never seem to be crisp enough for me, but I think I know what the problem may be.............I have what's know as too much caffeine, I think It causes camera shake! Your Monday shoot turned out great, I think you've got It made there, with so many different subjects to choose from! and bet they were a lot easier than your average dog though Ok I have one from today, with a more Happier Bitch, and I think It turned out a little more crisp but I can still see some blur in the eyes

Have you any Idea how ridiculous your argument there Is, I've only highlighted the one but I'm sure a Chihuahua can do and fulfill all those roles too ( No offense to Chihuahua lovers out there either ) I have no Interest In flogging a dead horse, nor do I have the Interest to try and win you over Into the heart of the APBT. And lastly APBT's are one of the greatest all rounders In the dog world, they always have been and always will be, they have the desire to succeed In everything they do, even when the odds are stacked against them, and that Is what makes them so great out there In the working field.........and when the day Is over they make great lap dogs and couch potatoes too IN A FAMILY ENVIRONMENT ! -

Thats great if your dog doesnt react to other dogs. Must of be the hienz variety. The more I read your posts, the worse they're getting..............Dribble I guess all those Michael Vick Pits that were saved from the scum fighting them MUST ALL be of the Heinze variety too, as I remember many were re homed in multiple dog homes................go figure If line bred dogs are no different to scatter bred dogs, why line breed at all?? why not just breed currs to currs to scatterbreds etc. Whats the point of Apbt breeders trying to line breed dogs? What are you on about? Off course all breeding should be done knowing history of both dam and sire Responsible APBT breeders who have their dogs best Interest at heart would be doing this, among many other things! APBT's are no more or less difficult to train than any other dog breed. Early socialization, training and monitoring their interactions with other dogs Is needed and each dog should be treated as an Individual. They need a kind hand and they will excel at anything. They strive to be around people and are always eager to please their master. Saying that all APBT will attack anything that moves Is nothing short of rubbish! Children + Dogs + Unsupervised = A disaster waiting to happen, and that's any breed of dog, They have been used to sniff out bombs and drugs, used by the military and even police forces, many used as therapy and service dogs, they are great at weight pulling, agility, schutzhund, and obedience. They also always score highly on the American Temperament Test. If they were such a bad dog, they wouldn't have been used In any of those tasks Lastly, and I can't leave this one out, because to me that's what makes them so darn great In personality Is that they're bloody clowns! -
Lots of awesome shots since I last posted, am envious of those nice crisp pics, something I failing at miserably Here are 2 of my efforts from today of one very uncooperative BITCH!

Awesome I know you've explained It, BUT Is there an easier way of explaining It, coz It went straight over my head ;) Do you need to draw the picture from scratch?? If that's the case I won't even try to attempt It Have been seeing a few digital artworks around and they look great!
-
I've never been able to join In, as It always seemed too hard a challenge But I have a couple of portrait shots from a couple of weeks ago, (I know, not November, but still fairly recent lol) not sure if they're ok, as have been post edited, Is that allowed?? Here they are

Just BUMPING this, Only 366 sigs showing support , It doesn't take much to sign............It may not make the greatest Impact, but surely If enough people sign, even the slightest dent on the matter Is some kind of step forward, Is It not?
-
Oh no, how devastating The heavens have another Angel, but taken way too soon Rest easy girl

As far as I'm aware, In N.S.W they are not allowed In their own home The only time allowed out of their enclosure Is on lead and muzzled to go for a walk Someone please correct me If I'm wrong Dogs are allowed in the house. It's when in the yard they need to be enclosed in a run that meets specs. Of course if you don't want to force your dog into this kind of life, DON'T BUY A DOG THAT CAN BE CLASSIFIED AS RESTRICTED. The law isn't new. People need to either abide by the law or suffer the consequences (or more precisely have their dogs suffer them)

Awesome, not sure which would have been funnier, the dogs or this lol nah dogs win hands down!!

Sounds familiar! This has been fun! Thanks Ruth for tagging Zeiba and I So here It goes....... 1. What's In a name! Zeiba got her name from my obsession of names starting with the letter Z! 2. Gravely ill as a pup When we first brought Zeiba home her very first night she become quite sick and couldn't keep anything down, I suspected the worst and upon calling In an emergency vet, It was strongly suspected as Parvo. So she got taken away that night to start treatment asap, the vet was just so wonderful but also very concerned for the little one. Well she spent the next ten days at the vets, the first week was touch n go I honestly thought that she was not going to pull through she was just so tiny. By day 8 she was screaming the place down and wanted out! She had a good set of lungs in her, LOL It was then we knew she had so much fight In her to survive, It was just amazing! and nothing short of a small miracle for me. 3. Obsession! Zeiba has 3 obsessions Kong Kong and More Kong!! Need I say more! 4. Best Feature Her eyes! Zeiba has beautiful baby blues, and usually the first thing people will comment on! She certainly knows how to use them too, and will often give evil looks lol, but only because they're so pale that's the impression they give, not because she wants to eat you! :p 5. Bad Habits When extremely bored, and It doesn't take much for that! she will chase her tail, although she doesn't do it as often these days! Sometimes she will do It In front of visitors to show off! 6. Drives Zeiba has a very high prey drive! really good for some things, but can be a downer for some things as well. Apart from her Kong obsession she will play/chase anything that moves.....sticks, rope, grass blades etc lol She's an antz In your pantz type of gal, always wants to go go go............. 7. Best and Worst Zeiba Is extremely people orientated and loves everyone, unfortunately she doesn't always share the same passion for dogs. 8. Sleeping She feels the cold very easily and Insists on being totally covered at night time with her blankie lol 9. X factor! Zeiba Is very athletic both In stamina and build, I often think she's a boy In a girls body. She Is only tiny < 20kgs but she has the heart and soul of a lion. We often wrestle together and she makes the cutest growling noises It always cracks me up 10. She Drives Me Insane! Yes she really does 99.8% of the time lol but I wouldn't swap her for a million zillion ;)))
