  1. Absolutely, I couldn't agree more with your ultimate betrayal of dogdom
  2. I will cling to that hope too Mita But It would be nice and also more effective If RSPCA state wide could share the same voice, (We can only keep hoping!) personally I think In Vic matters are getting worse and will continue too regardless of what the outcome In QLD will be
  3. A rottweiler killed someone, a mastiffx killed someone. Gov hasn't banned them. I don't believe that the APBT is more likely to kill someone that the dogs which have already killed people. Don't forget, a purebred APBT has never been responsible for a fatal attack on a person in Aust. Why should that change if the bans were lifted. They didn't kill anyone pre-bans. APBT are the same as other dogs. Not worse, not better. they are not generally HA. Hmm maybe I should have been a tad bit clearer.. All I was meaning to ask about is if BSL is ended, just say hypothetically a dog attacked and was labeled as a dog from the previous dangerous dog act list for whatever reason. I was wondering about the governments reaction to such a thing, assuming the worst it will make them feel that BSL was justified and could make it worst for everyone. Do you see this as a potential problem? I am no supporter of BSL even though some of my questions and comments may be taken that way, I'm just not very good at putting my thoughts and ideas across, so my apologies about this. --Lhok No, I certainly don't. This can also be reversed as while BSL Is In, dog attacks are still on the Increase covering all sorts of breeds that are not covered In BSL. So how Is BSL helping In this case?
  4. Tucked away at the end of the Channel 7 Brisbane News was a final comment that the RSPCA Qld had been asked for a comment on the Tango decision re Amstaffs being the same as Pitbulls for BSL purposes. And they'd replied it was the deeds that needed to be focused on, not the breed. But the trouble is... there's wide variance in thought/policies among the various state RSPCAs. 'Deed not breed' sure doesn't come from RSPCA Victoria. Tango would seem to represent what the Qld CEO said, in public, when recanting the BSL laws. An innocent family dog being threatened with PTS for not one sound reason....except for misplaced preconceptions about breed & behaviour. Yet the scientific & case study evidence points to sussing out the 'human' factors in the background & management of dogs that become dangerous to the community. Major bodies, like the US Veterinary Association have reported that going down the breed track only, leads nowhere in preventing dog bites & attacks. And a press release on dog bites from the national Aus RSPCA reflected this US report so closely, that they should have referenced it. In the meantime, Tango remains stuck in the 'go nowhere but to possible PTS' that comes from nit-picking over breed....& not human or dog behaviour. Huge sums of money go down the gurgler that could be better spent in dealing with prevention. I agree with the person who wrote that, while this continues, it can only put all bully breeds in peril. Even having papers won't take away the shadow cast on these dogs as being surely a danger to the community. Totally agree here, If the WHOLE org. Isn't going to chant the same, It's hardly going to have any positive effects towards BSL. And as long as Worthless Is around I don't see them changing their views regardless of what the other RSPCA's believe.
  5. How about YOU do us all a favor and keep your Ignorant comments to yourself It's so easy there sitting at your computer and pointing fingers, about the only thing you're remotely good at The acts of people to save ONE byb bred dog is going to potentially ruin an ANKC registered breed and how many purebred registered dogs bred by responsible ethical people? I can point my finger and say what I bloody well like. Tango was NOT a byb dog, he was bred by a registered breeder and sold by the breeder to a pet shop. So stop pointing fingers as you know nothing He has a right to live just as any other dog, step in their shoes and tell us what you would have done??
  6. That is really insulting to every ANKC person who has fought BSL all these years. And so are some of the comments directed at people WHO have actually been fighting this for the last 6yrs. But Is that ok Is It??
  7. How about YOU do us all a favor and keep your Ignorant comments to yourself It's so easy there sitting at your computer and pointing fingers, about the only thing you're remotely good at
  8. Nobody has handed the BSL brigade a registered breed on a plate WTF!! I guess people have short memories here and forget how many fed the APBT to the wolves to save their own I'm appalled at some of the comments here from dog lovers
  9. Yes Thank you Zayda for clearing that up. And If people would stop making claims to which they not know, would be great. Situation doesn't need false claims as is bad enough already ;)
  10. It certainly stopped me from ever getting Involved the amount of bitchiness that goes on and what some people actually do when they can't stand losing Is unbelievable to say the least Glad you picked up on It In time dyzney
  11. I'm sorry to hear what happened, and hope the lil bub Is ok Please do not condemn an entire breed for what has happened, BSL Isn't going to stop It either. Responsibility must always lie on the other end of the leash Don't kid yourself that other breeds would not have been as hard to move of or control as this one was, which you mention only as a Bully breed type
  12. Time for ALL dog owners to get Involved IMO as what was believed by many something that wouldn't happen has just hit home
  13. He does happy too! :p I'm sorry RnB - I'm hijacking your thread!! Oh gosh no, anyone Is free to add Awww A happy bunny does make for a better pic! Oh dear ..............
  14. You have no idea! These are not fear tactics at all, "Your Breed May Be Next" Is In actual fact a lot closer to happening now more than ever. Good luck to the ANKC In protecting their breeds, they're going to need It. Me either Jed, And for those having a go at the BSL T's slogans, what's It to you what I write I have every right to support the APBT In any which way I choose, and I speak the truth In every single one! you don't like them, don't look at them It's that simple really!
  15. [quote name='Longcoat' date='29th Mar 2010 - 09:43 PM' post='4425643' It never stops Justin, same old defence over and over again. I know two APBT breeders well who both have some truely great dogs of their own, but both have PTS several highly aggressive Pits over the years that they believed were no good for the average pet owner and a liability in the wrong hands. And your point Is This Is also getting very old, many working line breeds out there who are not for your average dog owner, should we ban them too ? lots of breeds have the potential to be a liability In the wrong hands too!
  16. Where's yours Maybe Nibbler would sport those ears for us!!? No prizes as such, just the pic with the most votes
  17. You have done nothing but put this breed down at every chance you got! Your response here Is not surprising, but what you're doing In actual fact along with the rest of them BSL supporters Is condemning an entire breed based on some bad people who choose to own them!........ Sleep well, I'm sure It's no skin off your back. You will not be the one who will cry tears of sadness as they're dog was noosed away to it's death, because It's only crime was to look a certain way.
  18. HA - Human Aggressive DA - Dog Aggressive
