Building And Other Legislation Amendment Bill (no. 2) 2010
RottnBullies replied to lmwvic's topic in General Dog Discussion
That's all very well and good Steve, but tell me why have they got their hands up and eagerly ready to to help the government In slaughtering dogs! They did not have to oblige with It! I'm sure their companion dog members will be ever so pleased to hear about this And In this regard I will flog them, and If they go ahead with It they sure as hell damn deserve It too -
Building And Other Legislation Amendment Bill (no. 2) 2010
RottnBullies replied to lmwvic's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hear! hear! And this where lies the problem, you see, how many Vic dog members are actually going to give a damn??? Probably not many to none, why? because their dogs are papered, and protected why should they give a damn will be their response For dogs sake there needs to be an organization who Is willing to speak out and help ALL dogs!! regardless! ....People can chant out buy from registered breeders and you won't have this problem, Blah Blah Blah... Yeah right well maybe In a perfect world this could actually happen, but It's not a perfect world and in the meantime dogs are suffering and paying the price! There Is no other way, It's just going around In circles and everyone Is passing the buck and wiping their hands clean And dogs are dying :p -
Such Awesome little nuggets! Great pics!

Is there any reason as to why nobody Is helping with this?? How very sad -
Oh bummer, I also paid close to $900.00 for a fancy Oly point n shoot 4 years ago, I'd be lucky to probably get around $60 for It now, so decided to just keep It. One thing I noticed about the second hand Canon Is that If In good cond. they really hold their price well. Congrats on your new purchase though, It's always exciting to get new toys, I'm still excited about mine and It was a second hand one off e-bay

Ok more from me -
Link By Alanah May Eriksen 4:00 AM Tuesday Jul 27, 2010 The owner of the only pup to survive a massacre of more than 30 dogs believes it has been the victim of a poisoning attempt. In January, Chicken was only a few days old and sleeping in an old van with her mother, father and three siblings in Wellsford, north of Auckland, when her parents - and more than 25 other dogs - were shot. The other pups escaped the gunfire but later died because they were so young and without their mother. Chicken was the only survivor. The shootings, on Rowan Hargreaves' 5ha property, stemmed from an argument between the mechanic and his neighbour Russell Mendoza. Mendoza believed Mr Hargreaves' dogs had mauled and killed his fox terrier Otis. He and another man, Tony Campbell, allegedly used a shotgun and a .22 calibre rifle on the animals. They both face animal cruelty charges. This week, Mr Hargreaves has laid a complaint with the police after noticing Chicken and two other dogs he has been given drooling and unable to stand up on Sunday morning. The trio had walked to the top of his long driveway, where Mr Hargreaves believes pieces of meat with slug bait in them had been thrown over a fence. He said that when they came back down the driveway, they started "acting funny" and he rushed them to the Wellsford Vet Clinic. Vets there told him the dogs' symptoms were consistent with poisoning. "They were all wobbly. It was like they were drunk or something," Mr Hargreaves said. "They were not themselves, not my dogs." The animals were given medicine to clean out their livers and sent home, where yesterday they appeared to have recovered. "They were fit and healthy dogs to start with and it was low-grade poison. "Luckily we caught it soon but I'm just keeping an eye on them because you never know." The vet yesterday refused to comment on the incident. Mr Hargreaves said he did not lay any kind of bait around his home because the "dogs take care of the rats", and there was no way they could have escaped from his property to eat it elsewhere. He spoke to his neighbour, a farmer who was up early for milking, when he came back from the vet. The neighbour said he had seen the tail-lights of a car driving away from the Hargreaves property about 4.20am. The feud has divided Wellsford, and Mr Hargreaves and his colleague Richard Hawkings, who witnessed the shootings, have received death threats. Mendoza and Campbell are charged with wilful ill-treatment of an animal, and other charges of ill-treatment of an animal laid by the SPCA, which said seven of the dogs died a slow and painful death. They also face charges of reckless use of a firearm, an offence which carries penalties of up to three years in prison, a $4000 fine or both. Mendoza faces a charge of possession of a firearm without a licence, for which the maximum penalty is three months' imprisonment, a $1000 fine or both. The pair are defending the charges and are due in the Auckland District Court in September.

Link PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The wandering 65-pound Pit Bull mix might have seemed menacing to some passerby, but one woman will always remember him as her "guardian angel." The dog, which authorities think is lost and not a stray, successfully thwarted a robbery attack on a mother and her 2-year-old son, who were held at knifepoint Monday afternoon. The Florida woman, who has been identified by authorities simply as "Angela," was leaving a playground with her toddler son in Port Charlotte when a man approached her in the parking lot with a knife and told her not to make any noise or sudden movements. Angela didn't have to do either to protect herself and her child -- a dog mysteriously ran to the scene and charged the man, who quickly fled. "I don't think the dog physically attacked the man, but he went at him and was showing signs of aggression, just baring his teeth and growling and barking. It was clear he was trying to defend this woman," Animal Control Lt. Brian Jones told Pet Pulse. "I don't know what this man's intentions were, but it is very possible this dog saved her life." The exceptional part of the story, Jones said, is that the dog had never met or even seen the people it quickly jumped to defend. "You hear about family dogs protecting their owners, but this dog had nothing to do with this woman or her kid," Jones said. "He was like her guardian angel." After the alleged thief ran away, Angela quickly placed her son, Jordan, in the car and tried to drive off. Before she could, though, the dog jumped into her backseat, waiting with her for the police and animal control officers to arrive at the scene. The dog was transported to a local shelter and if his owners don't step forward within five days, Jones said, Angela and her family plan to adopt the savior she named "Angel." Animal control officers and shelter workers believe Angel is lost, and not a stray, because of his good health, sturdy weight and mild temperament. "It's funny, that someone's irresponsibility could have saved someone's life," Jones said of Angel's possible owners. For Angela, it doesn't matter where the dog came from, just that he was there when she needed him most. "I don't know what his [the thief's] intentions were -- I don't know why he did it, but I'm glad that -- we call him Angel -- I'm glad that Angel showed up because I don't know what would have happened," Angela told NBC2 News.

Oh wow! Talk about greed! That's just appalling -
Just wondering if all other countries recognize and publish all titles gained in Aust, and do these titles appear on the dogs "new" pedigree papers when issued. I really don't know, but aren't most working dog titles Internationally recognizable and are on the dogs pedigree papers regardless of where the dog was born and Is residing In now I think their titles should follow the dog wherever It goes IMO To wipe them off as If they never existed Is just a real shame and not acknowledging the dogs achievments so to speak. Absolutely agree
-
So very sad to hear this Considering the work and dedication that goes Into these titles...... seems unfair to say the least

I guess when BSL Is talked about the main breed would be the APBT as the 'others' on the restricted list are either not here at all or are In very small numbers. I don't believe In BSL for ANY breed and that the punishing and restricting should be targeted at the other end of the leash
