  1. They look great! I wish I was a pro at something, I want Moo cards Lol
  2. Trying to ID breeds by just looking at them, Is nothing but a guessing game, that's all well and good for most cases, but when a dogs life Is depending on It................... Too many dogs lives have been cut short all In the name of LAW! and false pretences that these "bad" dogs are now of the streets so the comunity should feel safe blah blah Until more reliable methods are proven to work councils need to stop lying and saying their methods are Infallible As for the option of going through the legal system, well how many do you think could actually afford to go that route! It's not cheap that's for sure
  3. LINK Attacking dogs weren't pit bulls, after all After its news reports blamed two pit bulls for the mauling Saturday of a 7-year-old girl, ABC2 News in Baltimore took steps to correct the error. But take a look at the news report (above) and see if you agree with me – that they only compounded it in this story touted as "the real truth about dangerous dogs." Rather than clear the name of pit bulls, they besmirch that of American bulldogs, lumping them in with pit bulls and saying they share the same "aggressive" traits and legendary jaw power – or "muscles of mastication" as one vet calls it. "They have muscles of mastication. They have muscles in their jaws that are so strong they have 500 pounds of pressure. They can snap a broom just like that," Dr. Kim Hammond, of Falls Road Animal Hospital, says in the report. "They're a predator if you're lower on the food chain and they're good at their job, and they're going to win." Those remarks – inaccurate and irresponsible as they might be in reference to pit bulls or American bulldogs – were apparently being made about pit bulls, which he also compared to "a loaded gun." My guess is that ABC2 sent a reporter out to do the knee-jerk, misconception-spreading, how dangerous-pit-bulls-are story, then learned it was two American bulldogs that were actually involved in the attack on Amanda Mitchell, who remains hospitalized with severe facial injuries. For the sake of expediency, it appears, the report portrays pit bulls and Ameridcan bulldogs as peas in a pod, which wouldn't be so bad if the pod wasn't 99 percent wrongful stereotype and 1 percent fact. Mitchell was playing outside when the dogs escaped from a neighbor's yard in Dundalk Saturday. Both dogs were later seized by Baltimore County Animal Control and, with the consent of their owner, euthanized. On Monday, the Baltimore County Health Department issued a correction – identifying the dogs involved as American bulldogs – and, after more than a few complaints from vigilant Internet commenters, ABC2 corrected the story, pointing out that police had provided the misinformation. In all fairness, the breed of the dogs was also misreported by other media outlets, including the Baltimore Sun. Even though most news outlets have corrected their reports, the misinformation remains – not just in the public consciousness, but on Google, where search result summaries of news reports since corrected still describe the dogs as pit bulls. Tragic as it is, the story goes a long way in helping to understand how pit bulls have gotten, and continue to get, a bad rap – based largely on police mistakenly identifying dogs, "experts" who may not know what they're talking about and the news media's dutiful reporting of such misinformation. What gets lost amid all the assumptions and jumping to conclusions is this: Any breed or type of dog has members who can turn violent or aggressive – be it pit bull, bulldog or Chihuahua. Bit late now damage has been done and Irreversable, and as for clearing their names of It all.......well what a pathetic attempt
  4. APBT Club Of Australia I'm not sure though If It's still active
  5. He Is simply stunning and so majestic, It's what i love about Dobes Beautiful pics
  6. Such a vain world we live In, where If It ain't perfect It must go! Glad there are still some people who value life when things just ain't the norm I salute them all
  7. Yes well they need to justify their actions somehow, otherwise they could be seen as being heartless
  8. If somebody wants to help a less fortunate dog, so be It Who are we to judge??? And why should the fact that there are so many "other" healthy dogs looking for homes even come Into the equation? If the dog Is happy and not In pain he also deserves love and life just like the rest of them.
  9. You have absolutely no Idea of what happened, how can you make that call???
  10. Aren't dogs considered ones "Property"? Therefore going In without so much as a warrant or at least waiting for owners to return and then question be considered stealing? Surely It wasn't grave enough for them that they couldn't wait till someone was home, they really do seem to make sure no one Is there before they go in and seize, just wrong on so many levels And what's with this??? Why In the hell wouldn't they tell her anything? So they're allowed to withhold Information too now! ETA: to add more
  11. Would love to know where the dogs were at time of alleged bite? But something just doesn't ring rightn here, I hope the owner can get to the truth of the matter for the sake of her dogs Pretty scary stuff there Erny If that Is the case, what's to stop anyone on doing that sort of thing just to get at people when In actual fact the dogs haven't done anything wrong
  12. Absolutely, one sided, there Is a lot more that happened both at the actual alleged attack and much much more afterwards In how things were handled, why didn't the Sun actual print what was said by the magistrate at court I wonder
  13. I'm so sorry CM Run Free Texas You really have the most beautiful memories captured for always to treasure
  14. What I'd like to know Is what Is Dogsnsw using for this breed Id?? If they're using either breed standards from the UKC or ADBA whether In part or in full they should realize that they don't have permission and that It's illegal to do so and It does state this on their websites
  15. Well going from someone who's already done this course, a ranger to be specific, there is a whole section devoted to the identification of American Pit Bull Terriers from other Bully breeds! yes others breeds are touched on, but NOTHING to the extent of the American Pit Bull, so to me they're using the others breeds and the whole course as nothing more than a smoke screen so to speak for what really Is a hidden agenda
  16. Maybe just maybe they may win themselves over a heap more meberships if they're seen not to be actively participating in helping further BSL In such a ways as there doing now I won't be joining I have no Interest, but if they were fighting the good fight, I probably would . And yes It may have been In the minutes but I still don't believe that the members alone could have stopped It
  17. :D I'm trying to bypass that method though, there must be another way maybe In the settings etc? and why Is that It's only on some but not all? ;)
  18. Exactly geo, how much Input can members have in something like this?? Were members even notified before they actually went ahead with It? Personally I don't think members had or have a say here
  19. I've just noticed that some profile and also fan pages don't have It, It's still the same as It was before, so wondering how have they managed It, does anyone know? I absolutely can't stand It, and would rather not have to open a new window every time!
  20. If 'They' don't want to go Into bat for BSL victims well that's just fine, but please why make things worse for all the unfortunate dogs who are not registered with them?? And on the same token even make a profit out of a already very depressing situation, I'm sorry but that just don't sit right with me and I'm sure many others too
  21. Wonderful!! ANKC gets $500 and anyone can then pretty much give a death sentence to a dog ;) This Is beyond sick :D Again protecting THEIR own, well ffs If they don't want to do anything to help BSL victims why don't they just stay the hell out of It!
  22. What if..............they were bogans What if............. it had always been their dog? What if..............it was a restricted breed & they were trying save their sorry asses? Plenty of ''what ifs'' that fit án often played out scenario. We cant blame all dog attacks on bogans and restricted breeds. Dogs are dogs and by nature and prior treatment they can and do attack occasionnly, disasters happen, the poor victim doesnt care about what ifs..... Wiseguy you have made it blatently clear your hatred of Pit Bulls and their ilk, maybe time to get off that particular bandwagon as there are many people who do like pit Bulls and find your relentless attacks on them insulting :D Thank you. I agree. It's a little egotistical to believe someone posted this thread just to get at you. And downright low to go and bring Pitbull's into it to try to save your breed. I don't need to save my breed, I (we) need to protect it before it needs saving. Prevention is better than cure. I haven't said this dog was a pitbull. I don't hate pitbulls. Although some of their owners are a bit sus. I don't hate any dogs, dogs are my passion. If have you have been reading the BSL thread you would be naive to think this thread wasn't raised specifically to bring some discredit to the SBT. If that sounds pathetic it is because it is pathetic. Pathetic but true. The OP hates pure breeds. Especially registered pure breeds. Specifically Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Registered recognised pure breed envy. Sad but true. You really are a piece of work Where In the hell do you get off on accusing me of being a pure breed hater??? I think most on here know I'm not, especially when It comes all bull breeds, but really Insinuations and defamation is that your best shot It doesn't surprise me now the lengths you would stoop too to save your own ass, not to mention your continuous changing your handle to get back on here............so what does that say about you! FYI I have owned pure breed dogs, yes registered ANKC dogs .....Dobermans If you must know Just because my current lot are all rescues not to mention an SBT as well, doesn't make me a hater of pure breeds Get off your high dictatorship almighty horse there and stop slandering people you wouldn't know from a bar of soap!
  23. Humans can be really danderous too, and It's about time they were made resposible on their actions also A pound doesn't vet the people buying the dogs and they should. A dog can be very dangerous and it's about time pounds were made responsible for what dogs the re-home.
  24. JB that's all very well and good, but dogs have been known to temp test fine while they're In pound environment only to show their true colors after in a new home environment! So what then ? I'm also not sure on whether all pounds actually temp test all their dogs, surely It Is owner resposibility too, pounds can only do so much imo
  25. I don't think this should fall badly upon pound dogs either, Yes It was a very unfortunate thing to happen, but ultimately It really Is the owners whether they be new or old resposibility to familiarize themselves with their dog especially during the first couple of weeks that dog has been purchsed etc
