  1. Thanks local paper Is being contacted, so hoping they print up a story which may shame the council Into doing their job. I just don't get It, why they can be so aggressive with harmless dogs and yet so laxed on where It's really needed Think I'll get the neighbours who have to live with this put It In writting too and threaten them to take It further If they continue to turn a blind eye Much appreciated
  2. Hi I'm hoping someone can point me In the right direction on who to maybe contact when a dog has attacked someone and keeps getting out terrorizing people and other dogs constantly because the owner can't or won't contain her dogs? There are 3 of them but It's mainly the one that keeps doing this and bailing and rushing at people. I'm at a loss as to why the council has not slapped a DD order on this dog, they know which dogs they are and yet are not doing anything about It, police was actually called today and they were just as bad. This particular council has even gone as far to say to the person who rang numerous times already that she should keep ringing and then maybe something will be done!! I'm like WTF I'm just shaking my head here In total disgust when you get Innocent dogs dragged away from their homes who have done nothing wrong and are killed and yet these ones who have done the deed and they're free to keep roaming and causing havoc. I'm In no way even blaming the dog, but the owner Is constantly bragging how these are her protection dogs so that's enough In itself for alarm bells to be ringing, these dogs need to be contained why Is that so hard
  3. Yep, but a very rare one with odd ears! Thanks everyone her yawning was a gentle reminder for me to hurry up and get the photos over with

  5. LINK SANDOWN — A woman faces six felony charges for torturing two German shepherds, resulting in one dog's death yesterday. Jamie Labbe, 33, allegedly forced a 6-inch pipe, a showerhead, a 4-inch bolt, a metal clamp, a cigarette lighter and a plastic marker cap down the dogs' throats. The 223 North Road resident was arraigned yesterday on six animal cruelty charges in Derry District Court. She is being held in county jail on $30,000 cash bail. The dogs belong to her boyfriend, Kurt Krohn, who called police Monday to report the abuse, according to court documents. Sandown police arrested Labbe Wednesday night at the home she shares with Krohn. The two dogs, Pebbles and Magic, first were taken to Brushwood Veterinary Clinic in Atkinson. But Pebbles was transferred to MSPCA-Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston for emergency surgery. Pebbles died yesterday. Robin Serratore, Brushwood office manager and technician, said it's the worse case of abuse she has seen in her 10 years at the clinic and five years in animal control. "It's the saddest and sickest thing you have ever seen in your life," Serratore said yesterday. "It's terrible." A 6-inch pipe was lodged in Pebbles's trachea. A veterinarian told police it would have been impossible for the dog to swallow the object. Both the pipe and the clamp were forced down Pebbles's throat, according to court documents. Magic remains at Brushwood, but only has a 50 percent chance of survival, police said. She needed stomach surgery after the bolt, showerhead, cigarette lighter and marker cap were pushed down her throat. Serratore said the 8-year-old German shepherds, who are sisters, had been coming to the clinic for checkups for years and never showed signs of abuse. She said she was shocked when she learned what happened. "It's the most disgusting thing," she said. "They are really sweet dogs." Labbe's mother, Glenna Rose, said yesterday she was stunned by her daughter's arrest. "I can't believe she could do that," Rose said, "I really can't." She said it would have been difficult for her daughter to force the items down the dogs' throats. "I feel she was afraid of the dogs," Rose said. "She didn't want to have the dogs." Rose, who is visiting from Florida, said she was disappointed she wasn't allowed to see her daughter until at least 72 hours after her arrest. Rose told police during the arrest that her daughter was involved in an abusive relationship, court documents said. Labbe struggled with police as they led her from her home in handcuffs, according to court documents. "Don't tell me he got a restraining order on me," she said, according to the police report. Krohn could not be reached for comment yesterday. Labbe is scheduled for a probable cause hearing Wednesday in Derry District Court. Sandown police are investigating the case. The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals assisted in the investigation. This is the second serious animal cruelty case reported in Sandown in the past two months. Lida Levesque of 3 South Landing was arrested on four counts of animal cruelty after she allegedly abandoned two dogs, a cat and a hamster in her home. The hamster froze to death. Levesque is scheduled for trial soon on those charges, according to Sandown police Sgt. Aurie Roy. ;) I want to shove the same Items down her throat, and that's just for starters!
  6. Makes you wonder If we'll ever rid of BSL when we continue to have wanker owners like this doing wrong by the dog and breed Poor victim I really hope he recovers and poor dog who Is yet another statistic and another one let down by owners who don't deserve dogs
  7. Wondeful news! Thanks for the update, hope he finds a home soon
  8. Erny as far as I can tell from his page update he Is safe so looks like maybe something Is being worked out for him
  9. You're both right. You don't deny a dog fair assessment because it is of a particular breed, that ignores individual differences and perhaps more importantly, circumstances. On the other hand you don't pretend that a population (in this case, a breed) doesn't have a "typical" phenotype, thus ignoring the mean for the population, e.g we don't use GSDs as gun-dogs, but no doubt there are some GSDs who would make reasonable gundogs and some labs who would make terrible gundogs. I'm not pretending to deny every breed has certain characteristics, suitable for each of their own purposes, but you left out the other bit to my quote. I don't wish to take this further OT than It already Is, I believe In a fair go for all dogs, unfortunately I don't think It's going to happen especially while BSL Is In existence here to dictate which ones will get the fair go and which won't
  10. No it doesn't each dog needs to be treated as an Individual, not assessed as an entire breed That's just breed discriminating and what BSL Is all about I must be missing something. Pretty much everyone agrees that breed shouldn't matter, and that pitbulls should get the same assessment that Goldens do. Why wouldn't you agree with that? I think it matters in sofar as in "If you have a breed that is programmed to attack ie. strong fighting instincts you are forwarned that an attack has a higher likelihood of occurring than a more placid breed would, so you have odds stacked in your favour or against depending on certain breeds and hopefully you have chosen a breed that is within the confines of your ability and situation as a family and as a dog trainer/handler. In that respect breed does well and truly come into it. ETA: More
  11. I do agree with that, I think you're misenterpeting my posts, I agree that an assesment should be done but I feel It's not being extended to other cases I must be missing something. Pretty much everyone agrees that breed shouldn't matter, and that pitbulls should get the same assessment that Goldens do. Why wouldn't you agree with that?
  12. Yes It was brought up, but also Included that breed shouldn't mattter, I don't agree as I feel it does matter by what's happening here
  13. I think most agree that there Is more to this story than what's been printed, but that's not surprising. What Is being asked Is If this were same circumstances but not a popular breed as the GR, would people be screaming out for an assement etc?? As much as everyone says It shouldn't matter on the breed, this Is just a clear example that It does! I'm all for this dog getting what he needs as i do feel for him and know that something was not quiet right, but we need this to extend to all dog attacks . Dogs rarely attack without reason, and that's for all breeds, finding out what has gone wrong in all cases will only serve to help all In this regard
  14. Maybe It's not a question of whether someone Is willing to do the behaviour assesment, but on whether It would actually be allowed to If It were certain "other" breeds, I'm well aware that K9 does do It for bull breeds and others
  15. I hope so Staranais If anyone Is Interested there Is a page been set up for Buster I've just joined A Fair Go For Buster ETA: It's on FaceBook
  16. I agree with having more Investigations done In all dog attacks, regardless of breeds. PTS straight away Is just masking the problem, however I don't think It's done when It comes to "other" certain breeds which I think Is wrong ETA: Coz I can't spell
  17. HaHa make that X3 No- let it breed and raise a family to pee everywhere, chew holes in your house ,bring fleas inside and poo in the ceiling.

So sorry for your loss Rest easy Zara
  20. If until you post something current, positive & encouraging? Two?....maybe three lifetimes? What pearls of doom, gloom & deception do you have for us today? Your sidekick is blaming negroes, lebanese, the poor & the disadvantaged. (There's some new territory for you to investigate. google them & see what you can come up with) The RSPCA, hey, everyone blames the RSPCA for everything, so that's not new. P.E.T.A? forget them, they're morons, not worth the trouble. When you run out of ethnics , organisations & other breeds to denigrate, then maybe, just maybe, the pennies will drop & you will realise the real problem is much closer to home. At your front door actually. Physician heal thy self as the saying goes. BTW, Did you answer the simple question? Of course not. I don't have an answer to what you think Is a simple question! Is there a better way, well I'd have to say no there isn't unless you're able to DNA but then you would need both parents of the dog for that and off course It's not always possible! I don't know how reliable getting DNA alone from the dog "In Question" Is going to be The point Is what they are doing now is wrong, It's a hit and miss and until more reliable methods are found they need to stop this practice, killing dogs based on a guessing game Is just not on, If the breed Is unknown It's unknown why In the hell do they need to label them otherwise If It Is not known?????? And yes "THEY" are most certainly profiteering from all this! I repeat as It's been said many times ANKC Judges doing breed Identification on a breed they don't even recgonise I ask you what are these supposedly highly qualified persons as you say they are using to ID??? The standards? Yes way to go That's Illegal but I'm sure you already knew that As for the doom, gloom and deception that's right up your alley
  21. Welcome back Dougie.....how long for this time!
