  1. The import of them is banned, approx 15 years ago. So really how many 'pure bred' Pit Bulls are left? As even then many were not the real thing. That's a good question? I have seen quite a few dogs over the years people have claimed to be a genuine APBT and have also known BYB's to sell Staffy X's as APBT's? People who think they own an APBT, I wonder how many of those dogs are genuine? The last one I saw claimed to be an APBT by the owner had distictive Rotty colouring looked more like a Rotty/Stafford X The APBT comes In many different colours, such as a Black and Tan colouring, whom to people who don't know the breed can just as easily mistake as a Rotty x Staff
  2. especially the untrained ones Or maybe they're just reacting to their bezerk moronic owners that most have to put up with!
  3. The import of them is banned, approx 15 years ago. So really how many 'pure bred' Pit Bulls are left? As even then many were not the real thing. Enough to keep them going, If people think they'll be non left they can keep on dreaming! The breed will NOT die out much to the dismay of many folks! They are a restricted breed and as mentioned earlier still very legal In 2 states
  4. Wouldn't be so bad If they spent a little to Improve their high euth among other things there too True but as far as I know, they don't have any statutory obligations which must be complied with in that regard. Adherence to OH&S/ WComp is one of those not negotiable aspects of running a workplace. Maybe not statutory obligations, but certainly some form of obligations to the general public who donate thousands to help the animals In there, In which they would think Is where their donations are going. I have no probs with LDH adherence to any OH&S they need to put In place

  11. I live on my own and I wouldn't dream of not having a least one dog around, they are a great deterrent among other things off course I don't see It as bad advice at all, obviously I think they would only look into getting one only If they wanted to. I've had no problems with those annoying door to door sales reps either since I've fenced off the front yard :D [Dogs are only allowed out front whilst I'm home otherwise they're Inside and out the back]
  12. Thanks for the link Stormie I will check It out
  13. No my apologies BBL for not stating the country At the end of the day though Halal Is Halal Isn't It? Is It not done one way regardless of country?
  14. I know they are stunned here.....But I'm not talking about how they do It here though. Aren't we talking about our cattle sent o/seas!...Now It seems that what's acceptable Halal here Is not acceptable In other countries Yes I'm starting to get confused
  15. You're misinformed. Islam does not condone an animal suffering anymore than it should for food purposes, infact the Indonesian clerics have condemned the acts of the abbatoir workers who were cruel to the animals as sinful. It's Australians who are using religion to have a go at the big bad Moslems Well then maybe someone can Inform me to what Halal actually means for the animal being slaughtered, because I seem to be getting conflicting Information on how It's practiced. Is this not right then?
  16. I don't care much about religious practices or beliefs, but honestly what kind of religion deems It ok for an animal In which they are about to consume to suffer any more than It should Is that the thanks they give for receiving this food It's disgusting and definitely NOT acceptable on ANY level especially using religion as their cover up. It's pathetic
  17. The world really Is a cruel place thanks to the demented heartless people that continue to roam It
  18. I hope she's found real soon There's a lost and found section here on the forum you may want to put It In there as well, It won't get as lost In other threads as It will do here In general
  19. LINK Graphic video footage showing the torture and beheading of a 1-year-old dog has been circulated among teenage school students. The attack on the helpless dog has been labelled "New Zealand's worst" by animal welfare activists. Police are hunting those in the video. The sickening images show a man tying the red nose pitbull to a tree while three people, including a woman and a child, look on and laugh as it tries to escape. The man bashes the puppy's head several times with the back of an axe before taking more than a minute to cut off its head with a machete. The puppy yelps in pain while the man jokingly says "dog on death row, dog on death row". Students at Manurewa High School were offered counselling after watching the two-minute video depicting the torture and mutilation. Manurewa High School principal Salvatore Gargiulo said a 16-year-old female student brought the disturbing video to his attention in October last year. The student contacted animal rights group Paw Justice, which has been working closely with police to find the people involved. Gargiulo warned students about the serious consequences of sharing abusive content. "We made it clear to the kids that possessing a thing like that was a criminal offence and that if you had it on your phone then you ran the risk of being convicted for a crime," Gargiulo said. Students' phones were randomly checked to ensure the horrific video had been deleted. "We understand that stopped it immediately," he said. None of the students opted to take up the offer of counselling. Community constable Corey Rees said it was possible the video was filmed in Tonga - where dog meat is eaten - but did not rule out that the footage had been taken in New Zealand. "Because of the massive population of Tongans in New Zealand, you can't say it doesn't happen," Rees said. "I thought it was disgusting, even if culturally they do eat dog, but it was the manner of how they were putting it down." Paw Justice co-founder Craig Dunn said it was the worst animal attack he had seen in New Zealand. "There's a lack of empathy in this video towards animals. There's no remorse, nothing, it's horrific," Dunn said. "People who abuse animals will go on to be a nightmare in society." Dunn said the killing of a domestic animal might be acceptable in Tongan culture but it was not acceptable in New Zealand. "In New Zealand, we don't eat our pets." SPCA executive director Bob Kerridge had not seen the video but said anyone who wanted to film cruelty towards animals had a "sick" and "corrupt" mind. "You have to wonder what mentality would, firstly, perform such an act and, even worse, film it for others to see. "That shows a very sick mind and a very corrupt mind," Kerridge said. "We have had all sorts of cases of, firstly, ethnic, and secondly, quite horrific, offences to animals, but when you commit it to video and circulate that video, particularly to a school with innocent minds, that's a different crime." Counties Manukau Community Law Centre manager Emosi Koloto said it was not acceptable in Tongan culture to inhumanely kill animals or eat domestic pets. "I'm really, really mad about these kind of stories. What I know about Tongans is the same as Pakeha here, they don't accept people eating dog meat. "You will not see a dog or cat in any Tongan food. If it's happening it has got to be from someone who is stupid or silly because it's not acceptable in Tongan custom." A charge of wilful cruelty to animals holds a maximum penalty of five years in jail or a $100,000 fine. ILL-TREATMENT OF ANIMALS February, 2009 - Dunedin An 18-month-old Jack Russell was killed after being strangled, hit with a spade and forced to drink petrol. Jeffrey Robin Hurring, 19, was sentenced to 12 months in prison for wilfully ill-treating an animal. March, 2009 - Wellington Two kittens had their paws cut off believed to be by children, aged 10, using a knife or scissors. The kittens survived but had major surgery to have their hind legs and part of their hips amputated. September, 2009 - Gisborne Te Ahu Mankelow, 31, fed five live kittens to his pit bull dog when he went to a party. He was jailed for seven months. November, 2010 - Auckland David Hamuera Snook was sentenced to two years and four months in prison after he tore the head off a kitten in front of his former partner and her children. December, 2010 - Kaikoura Twenty-three seals, including eight newborn, were clubbed to death on the Kaikoura coast. Anyone with information about the video or those involved can contact Auckland Police on (09) 571 2800. I have no words and I feel sick to the stomach to think of what that poor pup went through....... R.I.P little one I hope Karma sends It wrath upon those responsible
  20. He's a cutie, and looks well fed. I wouldn't worry about what "some" people are saying, but have a talk to his breeders they'll be able to put your mind at ease and will know best In regards to their pups I seen one a couple of weeks ago, I swear It's head was the size of a fully grown Mastiff, he was just massive! and It was close to being titled here I really don't understand how judges are veering so far from the standard, It's just a joke really and I must say very sad for the Amstaff breed
  21. LINK Pitbull Unfairly Blamed In Attack A campaign is underway to save the four month old pitbull puppy confiscated by the Tauranga City Council after a 52 year old woman was allegedly attacked by it. The woman was allegedly attacked by her 54 year old sister and the dog at the weekend. The 15kg accused puppy. Tauranga man Marcus de Thierry, who knows the sisters, believes the young dog is being unfairly blamed. He says the sisters were drinking alcohol at a Welcome Bay house early Saturday morning when the alleged assault occurred. Marcus believes the dog can only be responsible for about 20 per cent of the woman's injuries. He is critical of newspapers and websites which are portraying the puppy as the main attacker. "It's a pretty simple case of misusing alcohol," says Marcus. "I think it's horrific they are trying to blame the dog." Tauranga City Council's animal services department is holding the dog on behalf of the police. Team leader Brent Lincoln says the dog will not be destroyed immediately. "If the police decide to prosecute in relation to the dog, we will hold it pending the court case." He says it will be automatically destroyed if there is a conviction, unless special circumstances are considered. Marcus is campaigning to save the dog, and wants to have ownership of it. He describes the puppy as a "nice natured" dog that was protecting its owner. "He's a poor four month old pup that just was just trying to save his own mum in his own home."
  22. Pretty far from a scalping, I guess their ratings must be pretty low I would not be blaming the dog either In this case
  23. That's exactly what I was thinking after I seen the pic, I bet the wind's not blowing In dog's favor!
  24. Awe Happy Birthday Charche, you're such a handsome one
