You could try the Pet Shed at Airport West, I haven't been there for ages but they use to carry a good range of things. You could also try a Pets Megastore (Epping might be the closest one) or a Pet Stock (again maybe Epping). It really depends on what you are seeking to buy. If it is show dog items then try finding out if there are shows that weekend at Bulla. The van and the other vendors should be there and they carry a lot of show stuff.

Feeding Barf Without Offal
Stolzseinrotts replied to Prydenjoy's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Technically you are right, but in my book it is offal. And those of you in Tasmania I do feel for you not being able to use offal, you are bound by the law. -
Congratulations Ellz, sounds like you had a great day out!

Great to hear that members comps are being held. Good news for all! I hope it is well supported. It is to far for us to travel as we live in th NE suburbs of Melbourne and are closer to Bulla and hope to attend something that will be held there.

Feeding Barf Without Offal
Stolzseinrotts replied to Prydenjoy's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
For the fussy ones, try a lamb heart, most will eat it without a problem. If the lamb heart is not accepted well then try to lighty cook / boil it and then wean back to raw, retain the juices to encourage them to eat it. As for liver it is usually the texture that they don't like.......you could start by lighty cooking it and then slowly weaning them back to complete raw and again retain the juices and use with the offal. It is what I do for baby puppies until they are able to eat large chunks of it without fussing over it. As for kidneys my guys are not fans of it and neither am I and you can forget the brains, I am not even going to go there.......... ;) We feed BARF and have now for a number of dog generations, the only offal that we use is lambs fry and lamb heart (it is all I can cope with and the dogs love it). -
Traffic cones make great toys!!!! This is a pic of our oldest, and he loves his toy, it amuses him for hours! This cone is about 10 years old now and has been through many dogs as puppies / adults as well as vistors and a number of litters.

Results From A Dual Sired Litter ?
Stolzseinrotts replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in Breeders Community
As has been stated, dual sires allows breeders to utilise their bitches further without having to have many many litters. It is a great tool that is now available to breeders and one that is being used worldwide with success. What has cross breeding got to do with this thread?????? This is a pure breed forum and I seriously doubt, in fact I am bloody sure a puppy farmer or cross breeder or what ever you wish to call them would not invest in doing a dual sire litter the correct and proven way (DNA). Edited for clarity -

Good questions Schwarzbear and good to see you here. For those of you that used frozen semen can you let us know what method of collection was used eg; Camelot or other , whether it was imported or local and the post thaw motility counts and volumes required. Thank you, looking forward to further information. -
Gee what a stressful time you and the puppy have had. Thank you for sharing your story. Best wishes to Queen Oprah that she continues to thrive.

Our Clydesdale Horse (thirty Years Young) With The Dogs
Stolzseinrotts replied to newfsie's topic in General Dog Discussion

Further to the Dual Sired Litter Thread. I am curious to ask those that have done a dual sired litter or know of people who have and what were the results? Please specify the number of pups and numbers for which Sires. How far apart time wise were the breedings done. And any other information that would be of benefit ie; breed etc. I am considering this option down the track, I know of a number of dual sired natural and or frozen breedings that have resulted in good size litters (Rottweilers) but all the pups have been from one sire only. Does anybody know of a database that would have such results on file? I look forward to the replies. Thank you. Edited for clarity........

Have a look in the Vic Dog Mag, there was an add for some dog runs in there, and they were a good price for the quality.

Melbourne - Who Would You Use For Frozen Ai
Stolzseinrotts replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in Breeders Community
Silverhaze and Staffodz , I am hearing about a lot of misses / small litters at Monash, your stories have added to the growing list. Anatolian, thank you very much for your detailed response. I wish you the very best of luck with the pending whelping and litter. Puppy Photos are a must! BB the collection method / storage can make a huge difference in quality and quantity of viable breeding units. -
The sad fact is that statement is so very true. Some vets really have no idea at all! You could also try lamb flaps and beef brisket bone cut up in small pieces as well as chicken frames....all are soft bones that a 6 week old ACD will bebable to eat.

I didn't know Jan personally, but have heard about her and her great dedication to all things Canine. The dog world has lost another great person. RIP Jan. Condolences to her family.
