Said nameless bitch! I look forward to seeing some of your pics. The Aussie Balls are great value.
-
And sometimes after many many months and with the help of a bitch who shalll remain nameless who constantly grinds on the ball you get two canine holes in it and you can then pick it and and throw it around.

You mean one of these.......... We have had these for many years now. The dogs love them. You will find after time your dogs nose will toughen up. You may also find that he may get some swellings on his legs to when he first starts rolling them about. It does settle down over time.

Flying Pup From Tasmania To Victoria

Best to get a few quotes from the pet carriers. Jetpets, Dogtainers, All Creatures etc. You can find a list of them here on DOL in the market place section on the front page. ETA: I think from memory Jetpets have a depot at the Hobart Airport. -
Help - Timber Dog House / Run In Melbourne
Stolzseinrotts replied to Snowball's topic in General Dog Discussion
If you are after something specific, talk with a couple of carpenters. Or you could ask some of the wooden kennel builders to build you something to spec. (Look on Ebay / Trading Post for their listings) Or another alternative is a kids cubby house for a bigger kennel. For rain protection cover 1/2 the run with laser lite, note though it will get hot in summer so I suggest in summer you put some heavy shade cloth over the top of it or a reflective tarp (sliver) to defer the heat. That way you get the best of both worlds, in summer it will be cool and dry and in winter it will let in the light as well as be dry. -
Congratulations Baileys Mum, ;) :p that is such a big litter! As BB has said the "black tar" is the placenta's. Wishing you all the very best with Mum and babies. I will look forward to seeing more pics of the babies as they grow.

Thank you to all that have replied in this thread. It has been very interesting reading and great to see the pics. I have used an over head heat lamp with prior litters with success. I have also used a heated whelping box for my most recent litters. I found the mothers of the last two litters got very hot in it and they were winter litters. I am torn as to what way I wish to go with my next litter (another winter litter). I like the idea of a heating pad in one area as that allows mum to stay cool and nurse her pups without overheating.............decisions, decisions.

I am so very sorry for your loss, how devastating. :p RIP Mum and babies.

Congratulatuions to all with puppies, you just can't beat puppy breath!

Thank you Zed_n_Q for posting the pics of the pups. They are looking lovely!

This is the first that I have heard.....maybe it is secret squirrel business........ I did hear a whisper a while ago talk that there was thought of having a dog show at Fed Square (oh the logistical nightmare)..........this is maybe it? I do hope all the majority of breeds are represented. ETA - ANZAC day is the 25th, Monday is a public holiday due to it falling on a Sunday this year.

I hope very much that this is contained and very very quickly! Damn things are horrid beasts! -
Huge congratulations, best wishes for mum and babies. :D :D :p ;) Sorry to hear a few didn't make it. RIP babies.

IMO it is better to give them their money back and have them go elsewhere then to have then take a pup they are not happy to have or that they have slight apprehension of taking. I feel people like that will find fault in a lot more as the pup grows. I have seen this many times over the years with other breeders. I always tell potential puppy people they will not get to pick a puppy, I will select one that is suitable to them and their lifestyle. If they are not happy for that to happen then please go somewhere else. Works for me for many reasons and all have been happy with their pups. As posted above the nose pigmentation does usually fill in over time
-
That sounds like it sorts the wannabes out very quickly.

Some very sad statements here..............I have to agree that finding the right homes is the hardest of having a litter. I get annoyed at those who can't pronounce the name right.......have you got "Rockweiler puppies?" ..........FAIL The other that annoys me is the "how much" ............ and "can you do better for cash"......like what the???? BIG FAIL

Big Congratulations to all the new Mums and their lovely babies. Wishing them all the very best.

Only one day to go now! Look forward to seeing the babies. The waiting is a pain isn't it!!!!
