  1. Thank you everybody for your kind words and lovely thoughts. Sometimes they are too precious for this world and are only here for a very short time. I am sure he is giving all the others that went before him heaps up there. He was such a great little character.
  2. I am so loving the Mud Monster pics. ;) Cazstaff I love the Mud monster face on your rescue girl......... We have Mud Monsters, I won't post all the pics but we have a webpage dedicated to our Mud Monsters........ Have a look..........Mud Monsters
  3. RIP beautiful babies. Run free. ;) How very very sad for all involved.
  4. RIP little Light Blue Boy, we tried to help you but it just wasn't meant to be. You were very brave till the end. Sleep peacefully little man no more pain, run free with all the other little angels that went before you. ;) Breeding can be very hard at times.
  5. Definitely a scam, a different version of the one that has been during the round for years. Delete it.
  6. It is cold here to Flaves, good luck to everybody today! I hope it isn't to wet up there?
  7. One of the obvious signs they are coming into season is a coat drop. If your girl was in 3 months ago then it is unlikey that she is coming in again so quickly. Having said that some bitches will cycle every 4 months, but most of them are at 6 monthly cycles.
  8. Lovely breed, but I don't think we have any here.
  9. If owned by somebody who I considered a puppy farmer than the answer would be no. I only wish to use dogs owned by people who I believe are doing the right thing by the breed and not breeding for the sake of it and who are ethical in their behaviour and dealings.
  10. Oh don't you love emails like that...we get them often for the biggest and toughest one.......go away idiot! Can I pick my puppy and how many can they choose from as I will know the right one when it comes up to me and tries and bite me............... . We don't allow people to pick their pup, we match pups to people. I got a phone call the other day as we have a litter advertised on DOL, and the caller asked what colours were available in the litter, could he have a black one ............I told them obviously they don't know anything about the breed and that I don't think a Rottweiler would be suitable for them. Some people........
  11. I believe that the Canine Herpes Virus is a big cause of infertility / lost puppies in this country. Most vets will tell you we don't have it here. It will be interesting what others have to say about it. I sort of laugh when stud dog owners ask that a bitch have a swab, yet it is not generally expected that the stud dog also be checked prior to a mating. I can understand why a lot of breeders choose to go down the AI path with fresh semen as opposed to a natural mating.
  12. Certainy sounds like a gutsy / piggy puppy. We get them often in the Rotts, they sound rattley and snuffly when suckling (sometimes having a bit of milk coming out of their nose) but they aren't noisy at any other time. As suggested put him on the front teats they are less likely to get to much milk at once. The puppy is a litle brusier! Look forward to seeing him when a little older.
  13. I have one of these Umbrella / Utility bags, wow they certainly hold heaps of stuff. I will have to get myself another one for all the other stuff I have......
  14. Great pics thank you for sharing. Herding is great fun isn't it!
  15. Vernie, I am very sorry for your loss. RIP Bailey. We are another that will NEVER use Rimadyl, we are very very aware of what it can do to our dogs. We lost one of our dogs to this drug.
  16. You could also try the Rottweiler Club of NSW and the Northern Districts Rottweiler Club. You can find the links on the Rottweiler Information page on DOL.
  17. Kaffy, that is great news. I hope she turns out to be everything that you wish for!
  18. A breeder has to start somewhere. As long as they are open and honest with you and you feel comfortable with them then I see no problems. Ask to see their membership card and any other things like paperwork etc. An open honest breeder will have no problems showing you all of these things. I will say - There are many "breeders" out there who are not breeding to improve the breed they breed for "other reasons" that do not benefit the breed.
  19. We have had overshot mouths correct and become deep scissors bite. We have also had a wry bite correct. It was my pick bitch from my first litter (one of only two girls produced by the dam), she did have a good bite as a baby and born with a good mouth. I asked those more knowledgeable then me at the time on their opinions about "can the bite correct?" I was told it wouldn't and went and placed the bitch in a pet home at 8 months of age. When I checked this bitch after 12 months her bite had corrected to a scissors bite, to late though as the bitch had been already been desexed a few weeks prior to me seeing her (she was in a pet only home). Oh well live and learn as they say, but I have since taken chances on pups who were overshot and that have corrected. I have not had another wry mouth since, but if the under jaw was strong and the muzzle was strong and broad I would take my chances again if I felt that it was the pick puppy. Hard call to make but only time will tell.
  20. Thank you for posting the pics KJ and sharing the information. I haven't dealt with strangles in puppies before (know of it in horses), thank you for the pics as well as what happened and the timing.
  21. Really ?? From your website pictures I thought you had some grey / tan rotties And yes we do have those to, but don't tell anyone........ We love our Mud Monsters!!!
  22. Yes we have had number two a few times now. It appears to run in the lines I have bred on with. Actually I look forward to seeing it when I do use that lineage. Our first lot of twins have turned out to be very very nice dogs (a dog and bitch), both class in Specialty winners. They were the smallest in their litter, but both have grown to be just over the middle height for our breed. The second ones have grown to be large substantial dogs, again a dog and a bitch. In our case the are all coloured the same. :D Edited for spelling - naughty me........should of checked that before
  23. Wow what a great picture, you should treasure that one. How great is it to see the sisters getting on so very well and sharing their babies. Thank you for the smile on my face.
