cooling mats do help, and have a place by the pups, put a wet towel down, where she can lay on it, to help cool her down.. Thank you Poms NZ, I have cooling coats that can double up as mats. :D I so hope we miss most of the very hot weather, the Mother of this litter doesn't mind the heat and is often caught roasting herself in the sun on a hot day.

Thanks BB, I am looking forward to seeing them.

What super great shots!!! Thank you for sharing. -
Good luck to all the pending Mum's, may you all have healthy and safe arrivals. We are hoping for a Rottweiler litter due Dec 18th. This will be our first summer litter in a very long time, we normally only ever have winter litters. Any tips to cope with the warm weather would be very welcome.

Yes as stated above there is a major shortage at present. It is a really bad time if you are flying dogs out to countries that require the vaccine prior to departure, best of luck to those that are and I hope you can secure the vaccine in time.

melzawelza, the pics of the long haired Rott. The long hairs do crop up now and then, certain lines are known for it! The length of coat can and does does vary considerably. I remember many years ago seeing this beautiful long haired Rott, she had a coat similar to the boy you posted. I have seen them from a heavy wire hair type coat to very long like a Bernese MD. ETA: Further to Rottisliebe's comments, there have since been many other dogs introduced into the Australian gene pool over the years that have added to the long coat Rotts being seen. -
Allerzeit, you will find that the price in Tasmania is a lot more than you would expect on the mainland. Having said that many mainland Vets charge like wounded bulls. One of my bitches was scored down there nearly ten years ago and it was damn expensive then (about $400 back then with scoring), plus too the Vet had no idea about positioning costing the scoring to be considerably higher. I know a Rott breeder down there who is going to have to pay about $400 each for the next set of plates they get. I would go to a Vet who does know what they are doing, ask the GSD people who they use down there, that would be the one I would be using for best positioning. Good luck! Oh just in case you don't know, Wyburns costs go from $100 to $120 for HD and ED as of the 1st of January 2011. ETA: the last set I had done about 6 months ago cost me just under $200 plus scoring.

If you have one as a sample, take it to a fastener supplier and they could supply / order you ones that are nearly the same. If you intend to use it for flying in Australia the airlines will want you to have the bolt and wing nut in all metal to make them happy. ^^This is what I have done to replace the lost ones. ETA: You could also try some of the international air shippers, they would have spares and or suitable ones to use.

Cooking Barf Patties?
Stolzseinrotts replied to CrazyCresties's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Agreed don't cook them the bone is in them. Have you thought about making a treat, that way you know what is in it and can adjust the diet to suit. I use a liver bread for treats, the dogs go nuts for it and I know exactly what is in it. -
Great pics of the pups Liz, thank you for sharing.

We use it when travelling or even for a change. It doesn't go far when you have big dogs but they all do like it and none have said no to it. I have also tried the roll when travelling and I found that was good as well. Not something I would use all the time but handy to have when I have forgetton to take out food for defrosting or when travelling or just for a treat!

I am very happy that the news is so far so good and showing improvements. I hope to hear some more good news today. Thinking of you and Chase.

Ian Billinghurst Books - Barf

Another fan of Give Your Dog A Bone. It can be a little hard to understand if you don't read all of it thoroughly. The Grow Your Pup On Bones is also a very good read, I always recommend both books to our puppy people. You may find a copy on Ebay, or sometimes here as well in the for sale section. Maybe post in the wanted section on the front page or in the members section in the forum. IMO well worth adding to your your collection. -
Sending healing vibes for Chase and also yourself. What a long few days you have had. Thinking of you.

OT - I agree that Exhibitors should be held accountable for their actions at all times. Sadly as we know we don't see these offenders getting suspensions as they should. These offenders are happy to continue on their merry ignorant way. It brings us ALL down by those that offend in such a manner with no regards to anybody else. I am personally sick of being tarred with that brush and highly embarassed by the arrogance and ignorance of those small minded, must win at all costs, sheep station, bounty hunters! You do the wrong thing than you should learn by it and do the time so to speak........................sadly not all will learn nor want to learn.......
