Drama My sons Cub group went "ice blocking" the other night. They froze big sheets of ice like tobbogans, then slid down a steep grass hill. The drama is whether they will manage to stop before they went flying into the lake. The Canberrans will know how steep the hill at Regatta point is.

Thanks Quoll Actually it is a birds nest. It is very high in the tree so that is the best pic I could get of it with the zoom lens, a bottom shot We have a new family of wrens flying around - not sure but it could be their new home :D I did notice that there is some of my horses tail hair in that nest You can see it if you look closely enough (on the previous pic) Do you have Peewees around there? (Or magpie larks is another name they go by) It looks like a nest they would build. Wrens tend to build messy little cup shaped nests right in the middle of dense bushy plants, usually fairly low to the ground.

Old This is a display at the Museum of Australia that has just been opened, called Australian Journey. This display cabinet is full of items donated by my family, that belonged to my Grandfathers cousin (not sure what that makes her to me) All the items are handmade by her. She was preparing her wedding trousseau when her fiancee went off to war and never returned. She never married. Rolled all the items she had made up into bags and hid them around the house. We found them all when her sister died in 1988 and we were cleaning out the house. (I have included 3 photos so you can see a bit of the detail and one that shows a photo of Muriel)
