I have to ask is that a North Canberra/Queanbeyan game or Boomerangs/Queanbeyan or have I really missed the mark???? Been so long since I played in the ACT. It was North Canberra v Woden at the ACT championships on the long weekend (though most of the girls were wearing boomerangs knicker bockers as most of them play for boomers and we didn't want to buy ANOTHER uniform. Only had to buy hat and shirt for that one ) Who did you play for and when?

Thanks for that. Yeah, I was cursing that I didn't have it with me. As you can see from his throat he was shedding his skin and he was most cranky. Hope your aunt is okay. A fall at that age can be a devastating thing, particularly for independent folk

Thanks Aubrey Both lenses say they are Macro, but I don't think they are macro as in dedicated macro or macro specific? Does that make sense?

My friend gave me her old DSLR when she upgraded. It is a Konica Minolta Dynax 5D The two lenses she gave me are an AF DT 18-70 and an AF 75-300. The camera doesn't have a macro setting. I'm only just venturing into the world of manual settings and I'm just wondering what the best setting and lens etc would be to try and take macro shots. I've taken a couple of close up shots that I'm reasonably happy with, but they were mostly flukes and just on the auto setting. I see photos taken by some DOLers and I'm green with envy. Could someone please explain (in very basic language) what I should be looking at to try and achieve some decent shots. Should I be sticking with auto shots to start with, or trying for fully manual? Or something in between? Thanks in advance

Mystery gate This gate is in the middle of a paddock near my place. No fence either side of it, doesn't appear to have ever been a fence either side of it. Curiouser and curiouser.

What is Carny? Carnival? Xray is my foot. They thought I'd broken it, but turned out to be a severe torn ligament, made worse by a spur on the inside front of my ankle (not visible in that xray, but very obvious in front on one). Also showed that I have the beginning of an osteoma (sp?) Love the throw it shot. Gila - Love the camera shy shot Darien - I was going to do an abacus, but I haven't had any luck finding one as yet Diesel dog - Loving Lick!

Already some ripper photos in here. Thanks for the comments on the yellow duckies. Poor little things, you'd think they would repaint some of their eyes, then they wouldn't keep bumping into each other while they're swimming around Angel is gorgeous, and has that woe is me expression down pat. Love the feather. Here is my next contribution. Didn't realise it would reflect as much as it has (Oh and feel free to make a diagnosis if you want.
