  1. Our little Brookie is back to normal- still a bit scared of sharp noises but playful and looks almost normal with hair growing back- lets us brush everday without problem. Have spoken to a couple of Shi Tzu owners who have had same problem with same vet. One dog died two days after and he always thought it was shock from clip and rash etc. Fortunately we have two vets in town and also have found professional to trim in future Thanks for all support. I would also point out to others that matting was only in a few spots and those could have been trimmed-she was not matted onlegs, or in "armpits", or on paws. She is regularly brushed and we are concious of problems with matting
  2. Brookie is 19 months and is a bit brighter tonight thanks Has Brookie been to another groomer before or just the vets? No only to vets and that is last time
  3. Brookie is 19 months and is a bit brighter tonight thanks
  4. Medication is Delta Cortef 5mgs- one per day for 5 days- 3 to go including today. She has also had the shakes-tremors- which she has not had before. We calm her down and talk to her and it goes. Would it be medication or trauma from "shave"?
  5. HI, Brookie is almost back to normal- apparently the vet was away when Brookie was clipped/shaven. The girl that did it was a junior and it was definitely clipper burn plus small cut under front leg and down to skin along side one paw near nail. Also pads very sore- she was very upset. Vet apologised profusely and gave injection and medication for free- still haven't decided whether to ask for money back. This is 3rd time she has been clipped at the vets. Will be going to professional groomer in future even if it is a 280k round trip Photos yesterday morning- she has now started to play with toys though does not like hard floors yet.
  6. Vet not in until 9.30am now 9.20- will post later Have spoken to vet, who was not at clinic when clip was done. Most apologetic and we are taking the real "Brookie" in now- she suggests hydro cortisone shot which we are not happy about due to long term effects of cortisone. Will update later. Thanks for your concern Photo a couple of weeks ago

  10. Thanks Jules-hope it is not like that- she has great personality, outgoing, very sociable and nothing like she is now. She has shown no tendencies like this before Brookie
  11. Had our 18 month old clipped yesterday at vets. Not first time- they did very close clip and she is now a different dog- she is nervous, licking her feet, pads, shaking, licking her rear end, scratching her ears, and won't be picked up. Her whole personality has changed from an outgoing happy little dog to a nervous "nellie" She won't let us look at feet where normally she will roll over and she allows us to examine her all over. Did they hurt her, drop her or what- any suggestions please
