  1. I buy my flea treatments for my dogs with my vet $40 for a six pack of large dogs (advantage) and $1 a worm tablet for ten kilograms. I told him to match the price from the other places otherwise I would buy from them and he did a four pack of advantage large dogs is $26 cheap as chips. I have a wonderful vet.... he is just brilliant.
  2. I have transported with a dog trailer, with me of course, a pet transport company in the back of a van and he did a wonderful job would use him again. I have also flown dogs as for a dog trailer unless I was with the dog trailer unless I was with the dog I would not let anyone else transport for me. The man with the van I would use him again in a flash and flying yep I would send a dog off with Jetpets anyday.
  3. My friends dog was diagnosed with this problem about six weeks ago he died a month later. It's just and awful thing.
  4. I to tell people that and their mouths just drop open and say where? I can't believe what people would spend on animals. Speaking of which did anyone see the Shih Tzu's on Talk to the Animals today? She had spent $70,000 on her two dogs. Holy Shit!! Spoilt little buggers or as my mum would say just loved....
  5. I buy a bag of chicken frames for $4 there is about thirty frames for that thats a full frame bum and all not just the rib cage. Necks I pay $1.20 per kilo and chicken mince is $10 for a 20kg box. Cheap as chips. Unlike Coles, Woolworths etc, they price them like gold.
  6. I vaccinate all my dogs with a C-3 and my puppies as well. Their vaccination regime is first one at 6 weeks. The second at 12 weeks and the third at 16 weeks. This is what my vet reccomends and I trust him and have been a client for well over ten years so he has looked after all my current dogs and puppies.
  7. I only ever vaccinate with a C-3 and never had any issues with it. But I dont board my dogs.

    My Baby Girl

So sorry for your loss of Ishka my thoughts are with you at this sad time. I know how you feel I lost one of mine thirteen days ago as well its devestating... my sincere sympathies. edited for spelling mistakes...
  9. Judging by your breeders response I think they knew full well that there was something wrong with the puppy, what breed are we talking about here is it the pug in your photo? I myself personally would be taking it up with the VCA and then possibly Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal and see if you can get a response or a refund with their ruling? It will cost you around $40 to get the case heard but I think in this case its probably worth while. Let us know the outcome.
  10. I have used chicken wings, chicken feet, frames and necks for years all without incident, the mince that I buy is minced chicken bones etc and all of my dogs are fine. Never had trouble with it. Edited to add that I only buy my chicken for the dogs from a chicken processor that is fit for human consumption never from anywhere else. I tell people all the time that chooks do not have antibiotics in them but they dont listen. They hear it from overseas and automatically think we do the same. Does not happen people.
  11. I to had a puppy do this on me, but unfortunately it was such a big thing and the puppy was in shock that he was put to sleep hew was just under eight weeks of age, happens in foals regularly apparently. Im glad your dog is going to be well great news.

  16. Thats what I have my girl on now chicken breasts lightly cooked and given to her, and she eats them up no worries now. Hope her appetite improves soon its taken my pup four days to really start eating again.
  17. I will be contacting my vet in the morning in regards to her diet as she is still on chicken fillets which is fine as long as she gets better, at the moment she is eating better than me but I dont care I just want my puppy back thats all.
  18. I have just had this problem with a puppy and it was put on a drip, antibiotics and electrolites as well for 24 hours and she is still on chicken now but no more vomiting and poo. I would have thought that the vet would have done the same for your dog.
  19. Yes I thought of those also chicken maryland boiled and meat stripped off the bones. With cutting all the fat and skin off so left with the lean meat.
  20. I have had a nightmare of a time with my puppy this week she is nine weeks old and came down with gastro earlier in the week. She spent the night at the vets on the drip, antibiotics and electrolites. She has recovered now. Nearly back to normal self, however I have her on boiled chicken for the last two days. Chicken fillets apart from costing a small fortune to feed her which I dont mind I was wondering if there has been anyone else in the same situation, and what did you start them on after the chicken? Without upsetting their delicate system. Some suggestions would be great!! Thanks.
