  1. There's always a risk when you buy from a breeder if you don't inspect the merchandise before purchase and just as importantly, the conditions that the pup was whelped and lived in during it's first few weeks of life. Some breeders unfortunatley, don't socialise their pups at all during their first 8 weeks of life & it's not uncommon for a pup to have had no contact with anything before being freigted off to unsuspecting purchasers. It really p@%%^s me off.
  2. There's something just not right about this Too many basic questions, can't work out sources of information etc Could well be a case of the dog whatever kind it be, being a bit smarter than the handler, who appears to know absolutely nothing about this line of work Just my thoughts on the thread though
  3. I think I'll up my order from 2 medium to 4 medium, please.
  4. 3 Medium if orders are still being taken.
  5. I'd be interested in knowing if your vet made any comment about desexing your pup!
  6. The German Shepherd was never subject to the same degree of restriction as the APBT nor was it restricted in as many states. There was a Federal Government import ban on any German Shepherd Dog until 27 November 1972. I'd say that was pretty restrictive
  7. Turon Gates http://www.turongates.com/cabin.html We've stayed there a few times & enjoyed it & so have the dogs. You need to be self sufficient but Capertee is not too far away & there's a pub there
  8. ZB - what breed is your pup? Some vets are better with some breeds than others!
  9. Certainly sounds then that he's not got any anxiety problem. Maybe just a strong willed dog trying to wear you down. How much time do you spend with him?
  10. I think I read on another thread that the pup spends quite some time outside & the intention is that he will be an outside dog. A problem you might have already is a pup with seperation anxiety. We've had a couple like that over the years.
  11. So a non allergenic dog might be the go, if you do get a dog. Poodle or lagotto are 2 breeds that fit the bill.
  12. Look at the nails from underneath. Our dogs have black nails bu from that view you can see the vein. After you buy the clippers, go to a hardware shop & buy an industrial file. It sounds like overkill but it works well.....& save up & buy a Dremel, we use that too.
  13. the wabbit forum's looking good :p www.rabbitsonline.net
  14. I read that you're taking your pup swimming . We had one that talked when she swam . Have a read of the Triangle of Temptation
  15. I'm enjoying this thread Wash the floors and vacuum the carpets??? Was this a trick question? If you had indoor wabbits you mightn't have as big a problem...........but you could any up with dozens of wabbits
  16. At 14 weeks he is still teething & that may have something to do with the whining etc. Is he getting bones? Give him whole raw carrots to play with. At first he won't eat it but he will. We chill them when pups are teething. Most dogs don't talk well with their mouth full. Some GSDs just keep on talking & talking & talking.
  17. GSD's are good at everything lol! Spot on. No strenuous exercise until at least 12 months of age. Get your dog's hips & elbows x-rayed by a vet who knows GSDs. have the results read by a competent specialist & have fun with your dog.
  18. I agree you cannot get a dog and not let it inside at all, it wont feel at all part of the family. I wouldnt make my cat sleep outside either... You're right. Don't get a cat or a dog! Cats & dogs are family. If you can't agree on a cat, don't get a dog.
  19. Get a cat not a dog
  20. Would have to depend on the breed & the age of the dog
