Need Help With Problems Retrieving Ball
LilBailey replied to Stitch's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
All of these suggestions are great. Idon't have anything to add really. Just a question what made you decide that you didn't want the chasey behavour to start? I hate it personaly but then that s from a dog sport perspective. -
Flea was very much like your girl. Once she started to compete she got faster as she likes to race. She also does't tug or care about food at flyball. I started just cathing her and letting her line up again as this was the best reward I could give her anything else was a punishment to her. Now after 2 years? of competing and training she now comes back for a second tennis ball and to watch the others race or just line up again as she often runs last. The best thing you can do when training anything is that your dog is an individual and what works for her might not be the norm.

We are staying right through to WDG. Have to move to a CVP though not at the show grounds for two weeks. Must write a BIG note to self to get the tent out and fix it. It poored with rain at easter and we got just a little wet. -

Can't belive I just caught up with this thread. All the Jacks out there have great temprements. I used Don over my girl and all the pups have great personality's. I'm very jelouse of the property too.

Jess the ones they have at the show are really really expensive. We used to have an old one that was used for greyhounds it was great. Bailey loved it. Flea loved it a little to much and would bark and try to chase an bite the belt as it went round. They are good because you can get a nice steady pace going for 10 15 mins unlike a walk which for some dogs is a little slow but a ball chase is to flat out. I'd love another one.

It was a great run well done. I think the crowd got to a lot of people, there was heaps of dropped bars and handler mistakes.

That sux. How rude. I didn't see any offical people around.

Potential Flyball Dog
LilBailey replied to bazilybazbaz's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
She is very cute. would be a good hieght dog for sure. -
Hmm. I noticed that the allowence is much higher than where we are staying but great that they are paying it and fuel as well. We would go anyway I also noticed that you have to have a secondary handler so that your dog is never unattended. Bonus for me I get to go too not just as a spectator. Looking around with out OH could be a little boring. I was hoping to see Greg Derrett again got so much from that when he came to Vic. was tempted to go again after WDG.

He is looking good. I wasn't sure what to do with the sea saw as it is the one thing in the world I have discovered Flea is afraid of. -

Ruby he is an Old English Sheep Dog. I usally kept him clipped off a bit. I think in that pic I think Clover took while he was been chasing the border collies. -

Yeah, I rekon we need a Vic team next year. It's silly that it is so close to nationals. -

Clover the really hard part of the Flyball was the run under 19 sec every time. Not many teams or mixes of teams that can do that. -
Lee used to do FLyball with Pepsi as well. Always had a smile. Hugs to family human and canine
