  1. A few of the big guys that run in Victoria. Bear: Rotti x Shep Clover: Rotti x Heeler Jamaica: Am. Bulldog x lab
  2. I'm trying to think of a large x breed run by a female. Jamaica is the biggest ( american bulldog x lab) not sure I could ever call his handler a girl though.
  3. Starting your own club is not too hard Weiners is 12 months old very soon. Granted we all did flyball to start with so that made it easer. Box and jumps are the most important part we got lucky and picked up a set of jumps and a box for $500. There were 5 in the club so it worked out ok. Jumps are easy to make for any one a little handly the plans should be on the web site www.afa.org.au if not google it. A turning board could be used temperaly instead of a box. A few of our members live far away and train at home on a board. Plans can be got from the web. Heaps of info about flyball training on the net and the DVD's that can be bought from the USA team Spring loaded are great! I won't fill this thread with our history but if you want to know anything drop me an email.
  4. So where are the photo's 2T???? Did you get one of Haley she will love it :p
  5. Lablover: I tried it now I understand and it helped I'm sure in time it will stop her jumping on me. Jimmy: I have been interested in dog training for years, I read books a heap when I was younger. I went to dog school too picked up on things that were happening to other people around me incase I needed it one day. I read books and pick up on what I think makes sence and brush off what I think is stupid. I also take in things on here for other people. Trial and error too :D Flea 4th dog of my own that I have tried to train I think I'm doing a good job. mmoo: I know I can ask other trialers thats one of the reasons I posted on here I like to brag about her b/c I'm so proud of her but I like to hear the critiqes to.
  6. mmoo: I can't go to the ocal club as I'm not welcome. I have a plan for training the articals I might add it as another thread for coments. Lablover: I'm a bit confused as to what you mean. I will have a try and see if it make more sence. LOL
  7. Pick all you want. I don't go to club any more sosome one needs to. I tried to teach her the normal return but it was slow and boring she taught her self the flip turn, she can do it better than that but she does knock me a bit so i will have to work on that. She can turn better but always a bit wide and she rushes in front but then I guess I just need to turn a little faster. I want to start teaching the sent discrimination while she is young and into it (all the training stuff) any idea where to get the articals from??
  8. We have had flea for just over 4 months. When we got her she was a crazy out of contol border kept in a small yard with all the typical bad habits includeing pulling your arm off to walk. Training and proper understanding of her temprament and this is her now. I'm hoping to enter her at Warrnambool in march for CCD. Here is Flea doing a recall. It's short but we have been having trouble with the wait part. It's getting better though. Recall Here is her Return This one is pretty sloppy but thats aleays the way when there is a camera Can any one tell me if you lose points for the dog touching you??? Return And lastly one of her Healing. I hate how stiff I get when I know some one is watching. Healing

  10. Oh and here is Harri Proving he is born to be a flybal dog. He wasn't coxed up there he just did it.
  11. Ok here are the photo's taken by 2tollers. Thank you it's hard to get photo's when we are all in the ring. Maggie Jamaica Bodie Tinny
  12. I have 3, OH has 1 and we have 1 together. but I train her I do something with them all almost everyday.I'm a big beliver that everything you do when you interact with your dog teaches it something. OH runs Maggie daily, some times takes some one else too. When I go they always have to do a little something like a heel or a stay before they get to run free. The little two get walked late at night (coz we don't really have two just one lol) They also get Flyball twice a week. Well 3 do 4 sometimes. Sometimes I think that the day could be longer and my energy higher oh and DOL not addictive so that I acctully went out and did some one now. Bailey 6 in April, Does flyball. Miss Polly 4 in Aug,learning flyball and obdience. Dudley about 5,doesn't do much as he has bad knees. Maggie 4 (I think) Flyball obdience sometimes Flea 10 months Flyball obediance and MANNERS. Oh and I have been doing some lead work with one of the pups who's almost 9 weeks. Yes, I make time to have indivdual time with each dog even if it's only a few miniutes everyday. A few people have comented that for some one with multipul dogs they all have real individual personlitys Bailey Mini Foxi x JRT he is pretty good does have selective hearing sometimes. Miss Polly Pure JRT she is very cheeky got her at 10 months she also likes to defy and thinks she should be boss, has that i don't want to you can't make me look. Other times she is an angel. Dudley is an Old English sheep dog, he is Dumb as ...... It takes hime forever to learn some thing you can not even raise your voice to him or he freaks out. once he has learnd something it sticks for ever and he will do it to get your attention. Maggie is a Border Collie x she would do any thing to please you and learns pretty quick Flea Border collie x she was uncontrolable when we first got her but she is so clever. she has a great prey drive and her food drive is good to. I will ob trial with her b/c I think I have finally found a dog that enjoys doing what I ask her too. She will be a champion at flyball too. HeHe I dont know if this answers or is just an essay LOL
  13. Nope not going to geelong so we will be at Grant st. If no one is there at 10 it is werth waiting a little while we tend to be a bit slack and sleep in. LOL
  14. What about me??? Doesn't any one love me anymore???
  15. Me too. My jack has a strong prey drive. (I think) She loves to chase and tug but she will only tug if she feels like it. I want to know how to increase that. I was reading a really good book "Shutzhund, training in drive" I think it was called but I had to give it back when I moved and I never got though it. any one know were I can get a copy?
  16. Some good points of veiw and perspective. Was an interisting and informative read untill people start a slanging match. If your not informed don't post and if you don't like osmeone's opion you don't have to get narky about it. GEEEZ
  17. I have read her book, The second one that had a supossed step by step guide in it. a 30 day guide I think it was called. I can understand the woffle part as she seemed to do that in her book a bit, Kinda like your reading and waiting for he point but it never comes. I have used some of her methods on my dogs but thought that some of the things she pushed on not appropiate for me. but then I guess that like all trainers take whats relivent and bank the rest for later. I must say though the eating thing works wonders!!!
  18. If the vet is more concerned with the paper work and/ or his reputaion then I think you need a new vet.
  19. Now that the date is set. I have to choose do I take a dog or not. and the harder question WHO do I choose.....
  20. Elvis did the two ball thing in QLD. Some how he managed to get both in there and bring them back. I think that the Lab must have been watching her house mate Henry, He can fit 3 balls in his mouth.
  21. Just came back to have alook at this thread and I'm relising that barking dogs are a big problem even though we try to stop it. Maybe we should form our own little estate, [like the ones that dont alow pets or dogs] But make it huge so we all fit and tell people if you want to live there you have to have dogs.
  22. You shoulda seen her in QLD up on the beach to watch the sunrise
  23. I'd be in to but i guess it would depend if we were welcome....
  24. ou know there is always a spot for bodie with us. He is a smart boy he doesn't need you to run him just drive him to the comps. Bit hard to drive and hang your head out the window at the same time.
