Thats awsome. You could almost make a small business out of making nice things out of people photo's. I know I would pay for it.

I find Cobber OK. I use it for my OESD I use Euk for the two borders as one is a Flyball dog and does far better on it and the other b/c the cobber upset her tummy. The jacks get Euk most of the time but they are cobber ATM I just have to give them almost twice as much. BTW they all get raw as well.

They look great Freckles. I will show her. Bailey loves her little brat some times runs better for her than me. A quote from Hayley at nationals "Bailey is running good for you Shell, I won't have to run him"
-
Hayley. yeah she loved it when her pic was on the net in the flyball thread:)
-
I have tried that but it just says saving but doesn't actully do any thing. I agree that things get flawed. 2tollers put photos up in photo bucket of flyball and when I printed some of them they look all pixilated.

Ok heres a couple. Clover's Tinny OH and his mate after a flyball comp Maggie I tried to use this one with as a flyball jump with a dog jumping her but I wasn't talented enough LOL I wish I could make Photobucket play nice and let me up load photos bigger than this

I have been inspired by the talets of you guys and thought I would give it a go myself. I don't have PSP so I juast used what I have. I love Scooby and thought it would be easier to do the edges on him than a real dog. LOL

Formal Retrive - Mouthing
LilBailey replied to LilBailey's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Thanks for the advice guys. Dog Dude: I don't go to an dog club (only a flyball club) we have lets say a differents of opion on lots of things so that I don't really have any one around to ask. Arya: I do use a marker word and a clicker. I wasn't fond of the clicker till I noticed how fast she could learn something when I had my mouth shut LOL. I now think I might not use the dumbell to teach 'hold' ( I did plan to use the word) What do you think the easiest thing for a dog to hold and not mouth?? Lablover: What national is being held in the area. Pardon my confusion. -
There so sweet. I really like the Rotti one too. I wish my computer agreed with photoshop then maybe I could learn.

Thought you creative people might have fun with these ones. Clover's Harri at 18 days old His litter brothers Sorry they arn't any bigger Photobucket isn't letting me change the settings.

Formal Retrive - Mouthing

Snake Valley, Just out of Balarat. My Uncle lives in brunswick and always said our house when we were growing up was out in the sticks. LOL that was in Hastings so I wonder what he would say about this place. -
Formal Retrive - Mouthing

I'm guessing it will take a long while for her to learn it thats why I want to start now I just wasn't sure how. Amhailte: Your boy sounds a bit like Flea with the chew, shake, kill thing. Thats why I havn't given her a dumbell yet so hopefully she won't learn to play with it. -
Hi all, I want to trial my Border and so long as I do it right she should be good, I have been teaching her some of the higher class eliments so that it is more fun for both her and me, plus that way when I eventully start entering her she will not have a head start when I get to those classes I have started her on a metal object (a butter knife) and she is happy to pick that up and hold it in her mouth. I need a set of articals before I can do much more with this as the butter knife is to flat and light, I also want to fix this mouthing problem. I want to start the dumbell but I don't want her to get bad habits so I thought I would come here and ask. When ever she has something in her mouth she fiddles with it and either keeps it from me or throws it at me. I want to teach her to hold it properly but how do I do this? Also is there a certain size that the dumbell needs to be? where do I get one from and where do I get the sent articals from?

Whats More Important To You As A Club Member?
LilBailey replied to J...'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Why do so many clubs seem to forget this. When I was doing the instructors course at my old club I was told exactly what way I was to teach the handlers to teach the dogs. I how ever didn't quite do this. (got in trouble once or twice too) When I changed clubs (do to a location change) it was the same. OUR WAY ONLY!! Beacuse of this fact (as well as a few political ones) a few of us started our own club (just flyball at this stage) We are aware that dogs are all different and we have even trained to quite a good level a dog that was pretty much rejected by the club we left. to them I guess -
Rollerblading With Your Dog?
LilBailey replied to KitKat's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Can't say I do but when I worked at the kennels ther was a lady in her mid 40's (I think I'm not good with ages) that used to go along St Kilda beach with her two westies. -
It's soooo close now. I am itching to know what Div we will be in. If we get to run agaist the really fast teams I will be intersted to see how much more our dogs out in. They seem to run harder agaist faster dogs.
-
How does that work? are you the same club but in two diffrent states? We could almost do that as we have a most of the club in Ballarat and a then one in Melb and one even further down.
-
There was great artical I was directed too when I posted a topic like this a few months ago. It was Dog scouts something I will go look it up. Dogscouts It was diffrent from what I had thought of doing it, the tie down way. Just quickly From the top of my head. *Start with the Metal artical as this is the hardest to master *Have your dog taking it in his mouth, then picking it up, then fetching it. (Using methods used in any retrival exersize) *Once he is Fetching the artical put down a decoy artical far away from where you place the correct artical. *When the right one is fetched praise when the wrong one ignor and try again. *As the dog gets better move the decoy artical closer and closer. Once he can do it with the metal he shoul be able to do the same with the others, however you may have to start from the start with each new one but the steps will progress faster.

This thread sux. I wanted to know who ELSE was going but the ny people that have got on are people that I KNOW are going.

Redcliffe, Queens b-day weekend. I can't wait to see the sub 18 second team run. I hope they make the trip.

She is soooo cute,I recently got a shih tzu cross puppy and was thinking of trying flyball as an activity for her.Even though she is small she is a bundle of energy. Also thought I would do agility,I miss it from when I had my border collie. If you can teach a good swimmers turn to a small dog then most can trigger the box b/c you teach them to "bounce" on to the box so that helps to trigger the box. Also the sensitivity of the box can make a diffrences too, out box needs a fear bit of impact on it to trigger it, this makes it hard for the smaller dogs and the bigger ones too as it means that it is slow to release the ball. (well.0001 kinda slow but when a dog is going at full pace it is a diffrence) If a sporting dog is what you definatly need to look at these things. The other things that you need to look at if you are selecting a breed are your home life. As mentioned sporting dogs are not always great pets. Ask Clover she always says that her two borders suck as pets. Have you got a short list yet? Can you tell us a little about yourself so we can suggest some more breeds to you.
-
I'm starting to think that all the big boofs run for Weiners. Oscar from East side is big but I don't know what breed he is and I don't have a photo. Pugsley where are you from?
-
Jamoi didn't fit in the last post. must be b/c he is so big. Any size dog can do dog sports more care needs to be taken in there training and care in order to protect there joints. For example in flyball a dog can turn on the ground or he can turn with all four feet on the box. (swimers turn) for a big dog it is better for his legs to take the time in teachinghim a good turn than having him turn on one leg and pop a ligiment. I'm sure that parts of agility would be like this too.
