So funny, our dobe (when he is allowed on our bed) does the same thing. He loves to sleep under the blankets with his head on the pillow. Go to mypet.com.au/jumpers, I got a few for Harley last year and used these with blankets, he will shrug the blankets off him but at least I know he has a jumper on. We have a GSD, Mojo wont let Harley sleep with him to keep warm

I will try that, planning on laying sir walter very soon. Nice and hardy for 2 big mutts, still burns but not as much as couch. Will not be sorry to see the dust and mud gone..has not rained that much in Brissy until recently, now it has I think I prefer the dust.

Yes - my GSD wont drink the water even if I put a small amount in nor will he drink it with the dog rocks. Perhaps you might have better luck. Have to put up with pee burns......well, I will when we actually have grass. My backyard is a dust bowl, now mud pitt from having a bob cat in to help with renos. Bring back the pee burns, two big dogs and mud do not mix...

what peeves me the most is that we had a number of conversations and they did not see it as a problem until the day gggrrrr. I know what you mean. Labourers have let my dogs out leaving gates open and then not bothering to let me know that my dog has gone.!!!! who does that?????? Only an idiot.....sorry to all tradies who do the right thing. (I know there are plenty out there) as we have been building, buying and renovating at least a house a year for 8 years now and this is our first issue. I had a gut feel about this person, I should have ran with it.....when they turned up a number of days late I should have told them to come back when we were at home.

A few weeks ago we were away and had contracted a company to remove trees in our backyard. OH and I were on our way back when they called to say they had started. By the time we got home they had already finished. A few days later I noticed Harley our dobe with two massive welts on his hind legs. It turns out that the contractors had tied him up and now he has very bad rope burns that he chewed and got infected. Harley hates being tied up due to the fact my OH had him tied to his chair and got up without thinking, Harley got up to run after him and got spooked by the chair and took off....Needless to say he gets a bit freaked out and needs to be watched. Adding to this the noise of chippers and chainsaws would have not helped. Not only is Harley in pain and has to wear a massive bucket which is uncomfortable for us and him and I have forked out hundreds of dollars on treatment at the vet. I am really peeved as I told them to put the dogs under the house and shut the door if we were not home, a simple enough request. We are renovating and work full time so it is not always possible to be home if and when a tradie turns up. To date we have been really lucky and there have been no problems. Next time I will have second thoughts about trusting people to follow my instructions. has any one else had any similar problems?

What Shampoo Will Make My Dog Smell Delicious?
mojo74 replied to Sally's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Aloveen shampoo and conditioner - the only way to go! If we happen to get the mobile dog washer in I make her use my products instead of what they have. Ironically she admitted that she only uses aloveen on her own dogs. -
sssooooo ssooo gorge...such beauty should be shared. Bring on more photos I say. Congrats on your new addition.

WELL WOULDNT YOU KNOW IT ... LEXY IS A DOBE!!! HELP ME, I HAVE AN EXCEPTION!!!! Hi Minnie I really feel for you. My Dobe was so shocking that my first post on DOL was about his winging. See (noisey doberman post on the training/obediance). There are some good constructive tips from fellow Dobe owners. My best form of defence was to ignore it. The more I gave him attention the quicker he caught on that all he had to do was winge and yep - mummy came to the party. Very painful for a few weeks but has worked to some degree. Our house and neighbourhood are no longer being woken up by the sound of him winging at 5am because he was awake and wanted attention. He is a fair bit better, still has the odd winge when he isnt getting his own way - meaning he is not glued to my side every waking moment.
