ohh the sweet sound of kibble crunching!!! Shannah...don't talk to me about taking him off puppy food, Katie still feed her guys puppy food
-
he never used to be like that. sometimes I think having a lab is better than a sibe because you don't have to worry about them not eating lol he just ate a bit of kibbles, he didn't finish it so I've picked it up and will see how it goes next meal.

InDogWeTrust - usually just throw in everything that's edible [to dogs] and tada Hesapandabear - we've tried other brands, this one works the best, but in general, he doesn't want to eat anything but treats.
-
he gets a huge big chicken leg every few days, but the last time i gave him one, he wouldn't eat it, so i hvaen't been giving it to him for a while Thanks Mjosa, will try the yogurt and vet peptosil eta: he gets homemade peanut butter biccies, it usually doesnt give him an upset tummy, so i don't think that's it?
-
thanks shek, will try that. i'm just so worried that he wont grow properly.
-
that works with my girl, but not him.

My [almost] 5 month old pup won't eat, he's on Eagle Pack Prism Puppy Formula at the moment...all he wants is treats, he drinks fine, he is chewing everything in sight, so not a teeth problem....he has diarrhoea (sp). I've taken him to the vet, he says there's nothing wrong with him, and he's wormed. How can I get him to eat and get his poo back to normal!?

I know, I have been asking soo many questions. My puppy scratches when he comes back inside from a pee, and I know it's not fleas, because I looked it over and he's been 'bayer-ed', I think it may be mosquito bites, what can i get or put on him that will keep mozzies off him?
-
Thanks! Will try it Thought maybe tugging was something of a no-no
-
My puppy won't walk on leash properly, when I take him outside with a leash, he'll stand still and no matter how i tug, he just won't walk. Luring him with kibbles doesn't work eiither. what can i do?
-
Ohh, LOVE your sibe! s/he has a nice smile!

I want to know what I'm feeling for when I'm feeling for testicles in a puppy, the breeder has told me that they have already felt for it, and they're there, but I just wanna feel for myself, make sure it really is there. When I take him to the vet for his next vaccinations, I'll ask the vet too.

Oooh, my new puppy does this too! He chews on grass, but never swallows it...spits it out, or tries to, it's funny to watch him try and get the grass out of his mouth afterwards! He likes eating dirt too...he'll dig a little hole and eat the dirt in there.... ;) dogs

 Thanks guys, he had his first two shots June 28 and July 16. So one at 6 weeks and 8 [almost 9] weeks. Due for his rabies next week, and then another shot after that and we're done for [almost] a year ;) Took him for a breif walk....most of the time he refused to walk anyways, ended up carrying him.
-
The odor remover has arrived, waiting to see if it works now
-
Yup, decided it's too risky and let him play in the yard instead ;) (Darn, why hadn't I thought of the med records? d'oh)
-
Second shots are done at 9 weeks, right? He's almost 12 weeks now, which means I can give him a walk around the neighbourhood? ;) I just don't want him to get anything..
-
He's had his first two shots, he just needs his rabies and last shot. Should I wait till he has had all of those shots before taking him on a walk around the neighbourhood, or can I do it now?
-
But I know that the house has pee smell now....does the odor remover work? Because the smell keeps beckoning him to go back and do it in the same place.
-
For the time being, while he stlil can't hold it, I have newspaper set up for him, but he had an accident once, and keeps going there to do his business. I'm wondering if the Simple Solution odor remover and potty training aid will help?

Anyone know anything about Parvo Guard? It seems pretty good - that is if it really does work. Has anyone tried it? Not too familiar with parvo, do dogs get parvovirus even if they've been vaccinated?
-
I trained my dogs with food, I held the food in one hand, and made hand signals with my other hand. now I can just do the hand signal, and they'll understand and automatically do what I ask. Guess it depends on the dogs...mine love the pats and praises they get after they do something right and they don't need the food as much.

Amstaff Pup Biting And Help In House Training
dogsong replied to staffylovers's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
not to hijack this thread but can anyone tell me how to stop a 9 month old puppy from biting you? He snaps at your clothes (and I know this because if he gets flesh, he'll loosen a bit until he only has your clothes in his jaws), and then he pulls...and he's a relatively strong dog...and if he does that to a young child... and sometimes he misses and bites hard on your flesh...if you turn around he bites your butt.. -
You know how there are those road-side puppy selling "booths"? This part of the world, there are such disgusting ways of selling puppies. None of them are vaccined, none of them are healthy...yet people still buy :p I don't know what the name of this disease is, but I've heard it's impossible to cure if it's too late. They didn't know what was wrong with her, because they suspected the first vet had lied. Their friend asked me if I could help find out what's wrong, so I did. Day before yesterday(?), the puppy was taken to the vet and had been diagnosed with that certain disease, and yesterday she was pts. I'm not certain what this disease is..but I have heard of it..

The poor pup has been put to sleep today. I wish her all the best in heaven, at least now she doesn't have to be giving birth to a bunch of puppies and she can play and romp around and do everything a real puppy does at rainbow bridge. :p
