If they are unwilling to allow the general public to know the operating practices of the group, they should not be asking the public for donations. -

Accepting the good with the bad yes, but getting your first foster and it having Parvo would sure as hell put most new foster carers off doing it again. The rescue should of explained the risks of picking a dog up straight from the pound and explained what the risks involved are. -

I used Virkon when I found out I had transported a Parvo dog, used it on anything and everything. Shoes etc as well, the local vet ordered it in for me. -

So sorry to hear that this has happened to you, get all the advice re what you need to do now from the experienced people here, you need to clean the car as well that you transported him in etc as well, also unfortunately parvo can stay in the ground for over 12 months, I wouldn't be letting any dogs on your property until that time is over. Keep a close eye on Poppy, I hope that the rescue group has informed you of what to do now. -
The spit is out then thanks.

just bumping this thread incase anyone knows thanks

I am ok, have a nice place to stay at until our place is rebuilt, will be long term by the looks of it so many to be rebuilt, Gold coast has heaps of dog parks listed but they don't say which ones have split areas drats.
-
Hi does anyone know if any of the dog parks in the Gold Coast are split with a small dog area, looking for one to take Harvey to thanks.

I didn't realize the food was Supercoat, I am not a fan of the stuff myself, but Poppy looks so well and her coat is beautiful as well. Maybe she smelt the Natures Gift my two were getting yes she wanted it and decided she is keen on that. Sunday they played non stop for two hours as well, could be worn out or waiting for some more barbecued meat.

I do petsitting but unfortunately am already booked over christmas, if you can get a doggie person that you know and trust it could be the best way, I have had my dogs pet sat in the past and never had any problems and also gone the boarding kennel route, dogs were not so happy but they were safely looked after.

No problem she is a good girl and Harvey loves her :-)

Poppy just left they were still playing when Amy got here

I have had Poppy at my place for the weekend, made this little video of her stay

The dog needs to be taken to either the pound or yes the RSPCA and serve her time or at least she must be listed on the pounds and RSPCA's date base as found , when I ran Save a Pound Dog Qld we helped a small heavily pregnant dog and it was through the RSPCA they desexed and aborted the babies I am sure they would do it again if a rescue group was interested in her, but this dog could of been stolen a while ago before she got pregnant for all we know. I find it very strange that they said they would put her down straight away.

I saw the segment, the owner of the attacking dogs was an irresponsible tool, I have lost 1 chihuahua to a dog attack in my own yard, again not the staffies fault another negligent owner that never socialized his dogs or ever walked them. The poor owner of the Chi's losing so many. Those dogs did get to live with a dangerous dogs order attached to them, I did not want them destroyed. As this owner looks beyond educating, he even said his dogs were great with dogs what the, they can NOT return them to him. He also showed 0 remorse for his dog's killing, a bit like my case all I got was abuse.I ended up having to move.

I have a very itchy wee chihuahua and I changed her from Royal Canine onto a cheaper food, Natures Gift have put out a dry food now and since then no itching.

I have a 6 yr old tiny chi and she still cowers when she is picked up, she has never been mistreated to my knowledge, but we must look like giants
