I think I would wait until your current dog has passed.

I wish you luck My Flatmate has a dog exactly the same, not a sound out of her when she isnt here, but if she is home and the dog is outside she will not shut up, nothing has worked with her.

Pill Or Capsule Sizes For Small Dogs?
SueM replied to bingo's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have a Chihuahua that is on medication twice a day, I buy a packet of low fat cheese slices and just give him a wee bit with the pill in the middle works a treat. -
pamlin is given as a subcut injection when she is having a siezure. It is hard to give it i.v and i.m is not preferred as it has some tissue reaction and it is also a large amount to put into a muscle and can cause severe pain afterwards. The vets i have spoken to tell me that dogs on phenobarb eat a lot more gain weight, become drowsey, inactive and causes damage to the bodies organs. You also have to increase the dose periodically because the body becomes used to the drug. Again until she is having bad seizures and more frequently I have been strongly advised by more than one vet not to treat with phenobarb yet. My dogs weight is under control he doesnt eat more at all, they do become drowsy for a couple of days until they get used to the drug,my dog is extremely active to the point of being annoying at time with his obsession with playing non stop with toys, I would be more concerned about my dog having seizures every month and would rather try to decrease their frequency I know of people who have had dog on pheno for years their dogs organs are fine, the seizures themselves can cause much more harm, how long is your dog having a seizure is it still in status when you take her to the vet for the injection.
-
That seems weird,Pheno isnt affecting my boy at all, once they are used to it and if it increases the time between having seizures I think its is worth the health risks that could happen later down the track. Its just a matter of having a liver function test once a year when on Pheno as my boy is small and on a low dosage his functions are fine..

Is your dog on Medication, mine is on Phenobarb they dont totally control his seizures but he now has very mild ones and they are now over 2 months apart.

Do you still have Bella the Female Pei as well?
-
Desex them both, I think you will have problems with them especially if the Sharpei has been an inside dog and with you all the time. I dont have much exp with Sharpeis but the bit I have learnt they often will not ever accept a member of the same sex.

Logan All Breeds does not encourage or tolerate rough handling of any dogs. Maybe the instructors did not see what was going on? It was during classes and the Instructors unless they are deaf couldnt of not noticed it.. When I go to training, I do not really pay much attention to what other classes and people are doing. Last night I made a POINT of looking around at others more. I have to say....I am feeling a bit shattered. There was a bloke there and yes...he was being really quite hard on his dog and NO ONE SAID ANYTHING. I love Logan All Breeds club, the people I train with and the results I get with my mutts. I plan on going to the next club meeting and bringing this matter up. Good on you, as I wasnt a member merely observing a nights training I didnt tell them.

At Southside they encourage to just use flat collars but chokers were used but yeah not encouraged to use them in a severe fashion..
-
A lot of the handlers were very severe dogs were yelping in pain from being reefed with their chokers and the Instructors didnt seem bothered, two g shep pups were playing they were waiting to go in before starting and this guy kicked one of the puppies again Instructors who were standing by did nothing, Southside didnt encourage this behaviour if anyone was reefing their dog they were promptly told not to..

Thats what I want, thanks heaps and close too thats a bonus. Can you do both nights? Do I just turn up or is there a number to ring? Not a fan of that Club I went and watched one night and was put off, I went to Southside at Runcorn instead..

When I taught my little fella to use the doggy door, I got him used to going through it before it was installed, had it on the couch with a treat at the other side with the flap open to start, he soon worked out go through door get treat, now he flies through it..

Help Me Help My Springer Lose Weight

If feeding bones seperate your dogs, I see you are having issues with your other dog, bones will def start a war. -
I might use this option with Harvey when he is due as he does have high exposure to pound dogs due to being my temp tester, but I dont want him over vaccinated due to his Epilepsy ,so where is the closest clinic I am Northside Brisbane

If you mean cooking BARF... then please take care. It contains bone. We always advise never to even thaw in a microwave, let alone actually cook the product. Keep it frozen - more than likely his tastes will change again and you'll use them. Sags hrm well I only lightly cooked half (still mostly pink) but if even that could cook the bones I'll steer clear of it and try adding some cooked chicken to it instead. If he wont eat it I will buy it for midget guts he is a hoover

Nutro No Longer Available In Australia
SueM replied to 4 Paws's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I switched my midget to royal Canine Light Mini so far so good -
If its been 7 days I wouldnt worry to much, some vets one use takes them out at 7 days, so if he does I doubt any harm will be done if it looks healed..

Two are always better than one I find They exercise, play with each other You can also buy a split lead that you can use instead of having two leads :-), The split lead is a normal lead but it had a little extension on it and has two sep clips, once the girls are used to each other it could be the way to go makes walking two dogs a heap easier, I always sep my two when I had two when feeding raw bones, the little beggars were great mates but bring a bone or anything similar to the mix and its war :D -

She will quickly Ben and before you know it you will be watching her weight being a Lab x, we have had a few dogs lately that have been emaciated and within a month they are back to normal weight...What you are feeding her sounds fine, maybe buy some lamb flaps for her Instead of bikkies until she starts eating them but I would seperate the girls if feeding them, (lamb flaps) raw food can cause problems between the nicest dogs..
