  1. So, my SIL has a cocker spaniel bitch, who, despite my repeated suggestions, hasn't had her desexed. Just now I saw a post she'd put up on Facebook saying that she really wants her dog to have a litter of pups so that a part of her will live on, and does anyone know of an entire dog that wants to breed? As the title suggests, does anyone know of any articles or statistics on unwanted puppies, or possible costs relating to complicated deliveries? It's the only thing I can think of that might change her mind. Please no unhelpful posts, I know how stupid it is that she wants to breed her dog, just because she's a 'nice' dog.
  2. Both mine have it, but usually they have a roo/lamb, roo/chicken or roo/beef mix. They don't like plain roo mince that much, but quite like the tails. Never had any problems with upset tummies, but we did introduce it slowly to their diets.
  3. My two cost about $35 to feed each week. I have no idea how to cut these costs down, but buying chicken necks/frames from leonards is a great idea, I usually get mine from the supermarket, and I've always thought they charge way to much for something that they'd other wise just throw out! Anyway, I've got a dalXgsp and a dobeXrotti and they're both pretty active, they run around all day, and jack goes for 4-5 1/2 hour walks a day (probably not enough I know), rex is still learning about walks, so he doesn't go out at all yet. They get a couple of handfuls of supercoat each in the morning and another couple with their main meal at night = $7.50/wk Plus at night (for both) 5kg roo & chicken/roo & beef/chicken & lamb mince / week = $14 2kg chicken necks/thighs = $2.50 or $4.50 1 kg brisket bones - $2.50 Plus a go to the cheapo vegie store and cook up a big batch of vegies which they get 4-5 times per week. I don't know if I'm feeding too much or too little, but they both seem pretty healthy. Rex has been getting a little extra because a) he's bigger, and b) he's was little bit skinny IMO when we got him, but he's starting to look a bit better now. Some people have said that they feed their dog '1 BARF pattie + kibble' (for example) per day, but how much is this in weight?
