  1. The "compulsory vaccinating" where? Kennels? Shelters? Sorry - not sure what you mean. From the Frankston council website - Vaccinations Part of responsible pet ownership is to ensure that you provide your cat and dog with full vet care which includes immunisation, regular worming including heart worm treatment, flea treatment and a yearly immunisation booster. Does this mean that if you dog is picked up and isn't vacc'd, that they make you have the dog vacc'd before picking it up etc?
  2. I have more of a problem with the compulsory vaccinating than I do with the desexing issue.
  3. I don't understand this comment - those people that breed responsibly need to be a member of Vic dogs as they need to register the litter. Why would it deter purebred breeders? The only people this law effects regarding breeding, is those breeders of non pedigree dogs eg: BYB's.
  4. I think it depends on the dog, the child and the boundaries that are set by the responsible adult. My dogs are very bonded to my children. Ages 9, 5, 2.5 and 15mths. I set strict boundaries for both the puppy and for the child. I am constantly involved in the interaction between child and puppy. If you do these things correctly, it is very possible for a bond to occur. Just as a side note - can you please find your shift key.
  5. Ok I have sat and read, and re-read and frankly I am surprised that people aren't thinking this a good thing. So many are against BYB'ing and this is bound to reduce it somewhat in this area. I, personally think that it is a good thing.
  6. http://www.vca.org.au/Content.asp?ID=177 If you look at the sign - it says 'members'. If you are not a member I don't think you are covered by insurance etc.
  7. KCC is supposed to be for Vic Dog members only.
  8. Maybe it's all the noisy flyballing staffords!! Haha I just realised who you were Paulp. We should invite her to a flyball comp and then she will realise that it isn't really that noisy at training.
  9. Gosh I love Frodo - so happy looking xoxo
  10. She isn't huge fan of the flyball dogs I am a member that uses the facilities. ETF spelling
  11. Oh yeah I know it can be done - it can be very tedious on the owner though. I was genuinely wishing the OP goodluck having been through it myself. I have a spring loaded stafford, so I completely empathise.
  12. She is a 1.5yr old stafford - goodluck with the calming down. :D
  13. We are working on return to heel, and also getting the ball from the ball box for flyball.
  14. We also take our corn cobs directly to the outside bin and always do a corn cob count to make sure there are no more. I have seen many a corn cob stuck and it isn't pretty.
  15. I make my own Barf patties and supply to those that can't find the time to do it themselves. I add vegetables to mine, not the VAN. I use all human grade ingredients. I am not a fan of the stuff they market as 'pet mince'.
  16. Gorgeous pics - what a great looking bunch.
  17. Hey IR - It doesn't count if your thermometer is outside in the blazing sun! It says on BOM - 34.1 in Scoresby.
  18. Yep you can - also try adding egg, shell and all.
  19. And she did not scare you. :D A little at the start, but I was brave. Didn't you see my hesitation
  20. Goodluck for tomorrow with the 'scarey little dog' Hahaha! Just don't let me near it, I might traumatise it for life.
  21. I love Stacey's frenchies!! Well done to her.
