  1. So sorry hun. As I said today, I wish I could take away the pain. I understand it though. Hugs to you and your family. Run free Benny - give my boofer Bronson a lick from me!
  2. Also try Pets @ home at fountain gate - they have a puppy school class starting this saturday. I know the trainer, she is ace. It's a $10 donation to Lort Smith for the set of classes.
  3. I just get Shoemonster to make me some ;) I don't reckon I would be able to handle the smell.
  4. Last time I asked they didn't. They did say it was going to be discussed at future meetings, but unsure of what the outcome was with it.
  5. I had a thread a while back and a couple of people posted in it saying they were members etc. I have only herd good things. I will try and find it for you. Edited to add link http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=133358&hl=
  6. We could make her practise without a dog to be sure :lmao:
  7. Congratulations hun - I look forward to many smooches and cuddles with him. I also like Roger.
  8. Bronson ate the entire tube and was fine, no side effects at all.
  9. She did an awesome job and so did you. You have only been working with her one on one for a few weeks, and for her to change trainers and get a pass thats awesome. Good stuff Miss Molly and Stinky Shoes

I had the pleasure of meeting Sandy. May life be brighter for her now xoxo
  11. Hallam Vet - Dr David Clarke. He is a god send. And also dental specialist.
  12. I get all mine from my butcher (Berwick) Let me know if you are out this way and I can pass on your details. There is also Pet Chow in Mulgrave, but since changing ownership I can not vouch for them anymore, as I stopped going. Not sure on what he charges now either.
  13. Ohhh its purdy - love the colour!
  14. Rotti club is on wednesday nights at KCC - details here http://www.rottweilerclubofvictoria.com/site/index.php?id=32 They do positive training - food, tugs, anything that rewards the dog, and you can use to motivate as well. I have a 'soft' dog (sooky lala Stafford) and first day of training she wasn't too sure, and the instructor noticed this and made sure it was all about having fun. Didn't give a toss about whether she was sitting straight etc, it was just all about making sure she felt comfortable and saw it as a positive experience. The following week she nearly pulled my arm off to get into training, she was ready and rearing to go. And is now a confident little miss when it comes to training - thanks to the care and attention we recieved from the trainers. They set the dogs up to succeed, not to fail. Having said that - they do teach corrections for bad behaviour, and most people train on correction collars - but you can train on any collar you like (I use a martingale for my girl or a flat collar). So yes its a mix of old school and positive. Best to come and have a look and see if it is something that you find suitable.
  15. Rotticlub is great Dogslover - hope to see you there soon
  16. I found the same issues as Alanglen. Mainly the fact that there was no responsibility with owners. People did not understand the personal space rule, would leave dogs tied up and the tie outs are too close, so the dogs would get tangled and/or into a fight. People would let there dogs just run up to others without hesitation. The club needed to enforce the rules a little better, and yes the trainer I had was also full of himself, prob the same guy I reckon. Berwick is a great club, offering flyball, agility and training.
  17. Thanks for the info Dackel - she definately has Hyperthyroidism. Major sign was the extreme weightloss in a very short period of time, plus more frequent urination which was resulting in accidents. I wasn't aware of the heart rate thing until we went to the vets. She has always been a shaker, just put it down to nerves or over excitement. Vet went through the treatment procedure, and we have started the meds, and now we wait and operate when she is ready. We will beat this - she is a little trooper and has a lot of love behind her. I have no doubt she will live a full and happy life once we have gotten over this. Cavandra - she is pretty much crap free already, all home made food here, with no preservatives etc. Eza - Thanks hun
  18. Confirmed today that Jorja has a tumour on her thyroid. Looks able to be operated on at this stage.
  19. Thanks everyone. Fingers crossed for your doggy valby. And goodluck with getting your thyroid out aswell.
  20. Thanks Stormie. The vet did mention about removing the thyroid gland if there is a tumour etc today. We will know more about that tomorrow when she has the scans and further tests.
  21. Does anyone elses dogs have this?? I have just found out Jorja has it. Vet thinks she may have thyroid cancer which is causing it. We have more tests tomorrow.
  22. I had a black dog, but when the dogs played if a tooth got caught etc, then the collar tightened and the dog would get choked. Not a fan to be honest. (yes my dog are collarless at home, this was prior). The Lupine ones are great, but the colour selection is a bit ummm ;) Both mine have Martingales for training both from Rogz. Flat collars are leather for anything other than training.
