  1. I haven't checked, Boronia. If they do I wouldn't be able to order until Monday.
  2. Thanks everyone. I took the Hypoallergenic back this morning and the receptionist said she'd talk to the vet about it. I'll call them Monday. I rang a lot of local surgeries today and none have it. StaffnToller, are you able to check the use by dates on those bags? I'll also check on the other leads. I fed the Grumpy man Holistic Select this morning and there's been no bad response to it so far. Tonight's poo will tell I suppose.
  3. Cheers! And thanks, krystal&coco. I'll look those up. JulesP, I don't know if California Natural is any good or not. He was on Holistic Select before the Royal Canin and did very well on it so I will probably see how he goes on it again. California Natural ingredients look similar to the Holistic Select and I think Petstock have it.
  4. Maybe PM DOLer 64TLC. Posted a thread in urgent about Kempsey.
  5. Why wasn't your first call to the breeder of the dog ? As a breeder I would sincerely hope that all of our puppy buyers - pet or show - would contact me before anything else. Some of our puppy buyers ring me before they take the dog to the vet just to check if they need to (sometimes they don't). You may find that your breeder knows alot more about this in the breed than the vet does. Also my little bitch - I am totally sick of reading things like this on these forums - ring the breeder and don't blab this crap online making them seem like they have done the wrong thing. Far out you are talking about reporting her !!!!!!!!!! - you haven't even spoken to her yet Always helpful if you read the rest of the thread before responding ... I have - the breeder should still be the first point of call - IMHO. Then you'll see the OP has calmed down and will call the breeder once she's seen the specialist. It may not be in the order you like but she doesn't answer to you.
  6. It's completely full. I opened it and went, 'Can't feed him that, he'll get sick again.' Immediately, taped it all up. I'll call them tomorrow.

  8. Looks like he'll go back on the Holistic Select Anchovy and Salmon. Mini eats that and I did give him a little tonight. In the meantime, I have 6.8 kg of opened Hypoallergenic I can't use. Hits head for being in a hurry last week.
  9. And starchy, if I recall! The other main ingredient is potato, I think?
  10. Hi Sheridan, dementia in dogs is not new to me, as I had 3 of my dogs with dementia, one needed one on one help for everything , I spent a lot of time looking after him, until he got too bad and we had to make the decision to give him his wings, as with the other two. Prue is just a bit dottery, and I can relate to that. Grumpy is mainly vague. He gets very confused if he thinks I've gone in one direction and can't find me. Didn't suggest that you didn't know about dementia but it's a good thread just to discuss stuff.
  11. Rappie, it's a combination of things. Grumpy is on a fish diet and the Hypoallergenic only contains fish oil. If I recall, the amount of animal fat in the Blue Whiting was okay for the Grump but he got sick on Proplan. Thanks, I'll call them. I'm in Canberra and will be calling every vet tomorrow morning.
  12. Can people let me know if their vet stocks Royal Canin Veterinary Diet food and which vet it is/contact number? I am told that Royal Canin has discontinued the Royal Canin Sensitivity Control (aka Blue Whiting and Tapioca). Unfortunately, the nearest dietary food Royal Canin stocks to this is the Hypoallergenic, which contains animal fat as the second ingredient, which is precisely what Grumpy cannot have. I am so down on Royal Canin right now it's all I can do from sending them an abusive email. He cannot have Proplan Sensitivity for exactly the same reason - animal fat. I will need to find Grumpy a new food (or probably an old food like Holistic Select) but I'd like to get some Sensitivity Control so I can ease him onto it. Please let me know so I can spend some time on the phone tomorrow ringing around. It doesn't matter where you are as I'll probably have to courier it to me. Alternatively, if you know of an online source that stocks the Royal Canin veterinary diets, please let me know, too. Bastards.
  13. It's great that she's doing well. I have a 16-year-old and he's come through a couple of operations over the past few years really well. He has some dementia, too. You might want to take a look at Westemum's thread on doggie dementia for her Mac and my Grumpy.
  14. I'm getting sore ribs from laughing at some of the posts. No bears around, if you own an Akita....& Bernice the Mountain Dog. Recently, someone told me their neighbour owns a very unusual dog breed. Me: 'Oh, what's the name of the breed?' Someone: 'Something like a biscuit.' Me: 'Biscuit???????' Much later. Someone: 'It was like a wheatmeal biscuit', that dog.' Me (thinks deeply): " Wheaten Terrier'? Someone: 'Yes! That's it!' Love it! You'll be pleased to know, Mita, that one Australian breeder's prefix is Tchoklat wheatens!
  15. I have a black & Silver mini Schnauzer and I have this same conversation at least once a week! :) Always makes me laugh when they ask me if I'm sure I know what breed my dog is, or if I hear them telling their friend/partner quietly as they walk away "he really is a scottie you know..." My sister's irish terrier is apparently a red schnauzer.
  16. It think it would be very hard to prove it is genetic as opposed to something else. I can understand wanting to let the breeder know but I wish people weren't quite so obsessed these days with exacting payment for something which could well be their own fault.
  17. We can't yell about all of them at the same time?
  18. Maybe that's the approach to use. The risk of fly by nighters.
  19. Interestingly, the draft code has been taken off the website.
  20. Miss Mini loves other dogs as long as they're not on television or passing her by on the street ...
  21. Am advised the people who will be there are Ms Mary Porter MLA, representatives from Animal Welfare Advisory Committee and TAMS. They will take questions.
  22. May affect some Dogs ACT breeders so am crossposting from General. Can't post in Breeders Community so someone may wish to notify there. From TAMS: Link to Draft Code. It is also mentioned in the FAQS in the header link that there is draft breeding code, too. As far as I know, this isn't yet available for comment.
