In comparison 3 years is a VERY long time when you consider what the dogs and cats this couple had went through, and the sheer numbers involved.U Over 50 dogs and more than 100 cats were seized from memory, and they were left with more than 20 animals. How is it going to be policed that they can only have the animals they currently have - is someone going to go and check the microchips every day? You seem to have some personal knowledge of this case beyond what has been reported. Care to share?

Have you posted in the wrong thread?

Have just read they've also been served with notices of suspension from the NZ KC. http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/couple-fined-maximum-penalty-over-animal-abuse-4951142

What have the police said about it?

Snert, let me introduce you to Grumpy.

I don't think a doggie door will help in this case. Sounds to me that the changes around the house are causing her some distress and/or irritation. It might simply be you're being punished. You can get her checked out medically but it sounds behavoural to me.

Great news, Lexx has been found and reunited with his owner.

Bump

My Grumpy's sire was around 13, I think. Grumpy's now 16 and a half. I read somewhere recently about the older the sire, the greater the longevity of the offspring.

I know a fair few people don't go into Lost and Found much, but can those in the Port Macquarie area please keep an eye out for a lost wheaten terrier puppy. Goes by the name of Lexx. He's registered and chipped. I'm concerned because a few people in that area on Facebook have actually said they wouldn't take a lost dog to a pound but would rehome themselves. Good boy, Cisco.

Which is fine and I have come across a number of foods in the same way, some of which worked and some didn't. What we see in a lot of these threads is evangelists pushing their particular dog food agenda and it does not hurt to remind those inquiring that the best food for their dog isn't always one being recommended.
-
And as an example of the complete opposite and why people shouldn't just accept another's word that one food is best, my dogs were on this while Holistic Select was having supply issues. One wouldn't touch it; the other got sick. Noones saying what food is best the OP is asking for recommendations, perhaps she has never heard of some of these options so it doesn't hurt for peoples subjective experiences. Why don't you also include the finer details, aren't your dogs geriatric? Possibly could attribute to your food issues too. My response was clearly pointing out that the OP should not take people's word for it. I'm unsure as to why you object to me saying so.

Plenty of people don't register their dogs and I think a previous post said the owner became concerned about the dogs. I think a lot of people were concerned at the time and still are that their dogs, although not restricted, may be mistaken for such. From this it appears their concerns are justified.

Thankyou very much, yes I do realise raw is best for dogs, its what they have eaten in the wild before we domesticated them etc, but I posted this for peoples opinions and advice. I know some dogs these days need special vitamins and I was adding some fish oil in my dogs meat when I was serving but I was hoping you could just buy a dry food with the extras in it. I give them marrow bones once a week to clean their teeth, chicken necks sometimes gives Cindy the runs and domino sometimes swallows his necks whole. I was hoping for some good reviews on advance, purina or eukaburna (something like that) Except I didn't say raw was best.
-
Getting the right food for your dog can be trial and error. Try raw if you want, try barf patties or a kibble. Don't take people's choices as gospel truth until you've tried them. Raw may be a bad choice, it may be good. Some dogs do very well on kibble. The best food for your dog is the food your dog does best on.

Is the FB page an open group one with a handy link?

Later, QPS Media retweeted a thank you from the owner.

You mentioned in an early post that there was a guy in England who had a lab x BC and that it was lovely hence your interest in getting one. Unfortunately, it doesn't follow that every cross of this type is also going to be lovely. That's the unpredictability of crossbreeding. Good on you for asking the question and being open to the answers.

I don't think some people in this thread are interested in logic, Mita.

So, even if DNA showed they were not restricted breed, it didn't matter because someone looked at the dogs and determined they were a restricted breed. The law is a donkey of indeterminate heritage. For those of you arguing in this thread, can you just stop? You're not helping. DNA would be applicable if for instance one parent was a papered Amstaff and the other was a papered Stafford and the DNA proved that the pups were from those parents, but DNA that is offered by organisations to determine breed is the type of DNA evidence that is not admissable..........I think there are too many questions in regard to the accuracy of these tests??. The DNA would not be used to prove breed type but parentage, which I believe is just as provable in dogs as it is in humans. As I understand it, under the current legislation it won't help. Hence my saying so above which you don't seem to have read despite you replying to it.
