Ankc No Longer Recognising Flyball Titles
Sheridan replied to Jumabaar's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think there is a lot of misunderstanding as to just who is a member of the ANKC. The state bodies are members of the ANKC not individuals hence the direction to go to a state body for information. Yes, but the state bodies can't actually DO anything, so it's rather pointless going to them isn't it. Just as pointless as bitching on DOL, I imagine. Are you just complaining or do AFA people want some constructive suggestions from DOL members? We would love some constructive suggestions from DOL members. Going to a state body isn't particularly effective though. If I raise the issue with Dogs NSW there is NO requirement on them to then raise it with the ANKC. I can't make any direct submissions to the ANKC, everything goes through the filter of Dogs NSW (and who knows what their agenda is). If I do make a submission to Dogs NSW and they do decide to take it to the ANKC meeting, then nothing will happen till October when the ANKC get around to meeting. If there is no resolution at the ANKC meeting in October then I have to start again and wait a whole year for the matter to be dealt with. If anyone has any ideas on how this matter can be raised and dealt with by the ANKC in a reasonable time frame then I am happy to accept suggestions. It should be noted that the negotiations between the AFA and the ANKC have been on going since 30 June 2010, when the original agreement expired. In that time the AFA has generally had to wait between 6 and 10 months for responses to its letters. Well, for a start, you can recognise ANKC members are the state bodies not individuals as I've already stated. You should also recognise that you can stamp your feet as much as you like (and you are being stampy) but it's YOU who wants something from the ANKC not the other way around so following Haredown Whippets advice would be a pretty good start. If the ANKC wanted to come to your party, they'd have done so but acting like you're running this process and the ANKC should just fall in line clearly hasn't worked. Time for a new tactic, perhaps. -

Anyone Heard From Emmachelsey?

Is she donating to you or are you donating to her? Your post isn't clear. My advice is that if she is donating to you and you haven't heard anything, forget about it. If she hasn't paid by now then either something's happened or she doesn't intend to pay. -
what is the aim of your questions? You seem to be inferring that the owner of Sarge is to blame? Personally, If a next door neigbours dog had jumped my fence and attacked my dog previously, unless the situation had been rectified as in improved fencing or a secure run erected etc, I wouldn't take my dog into an area where it could be vulnerable to a repeat attack. You know what, there is a guy who feels like crap because the dog jumped the fence when he was watching Sarge have a toilet break. There are three kids traumatised beyond belief and my daughter who is inconsolable. Poor bloody Sarge had to toilet sometime, where would you have suggested if not his own yard? Do you know how long this attack took? No. Council had issued a warning after the attack in August last year. The dog had been 'restrained' for quite a long time. The dog is apparently now at a property 'in the country'. Owner will be fined $550. This is of no comfort to my daughter. They haven't even come and apologised to her. Her little boy thought the Pets at Peace man was going to make Sarge better. Rozzie, I totally understand the trauma and it's an absolutely terrible situation that the owners of that dog are 100% responsible for poor Sarge's fatality. Perhaps Sarge could have been toileted in the front yard or in his own secure run although this shouldn't need to be the case, the situation highlights the gravity of living in close proximity to a dangerous dog what can happen, how fast it can happen and the fact that you can't take any chances in these situations in assumption of your dog's perceived saftey. I am not laying blame by any means towards your daughters supervision of Sarge as she probably went 10 yards to keep him safe, but with dog's like the one next door with the type of owners the dog had, sometimes you have to go 12 yards for effective safety in these circumstances?? You think you understand the trauma but the lack of empathy and your continued harping that the owners were at fault are unkind and just downright rude. The victim is not at fault. Please, just pull your head in and GO AWAY.

What difference does it make?

I don't recall if the people duped by this fellow sued him? Or indeed, sued Dogs Vic. It would be cheaper for Dogs Vic to deregister them.
-
Amazing to me that people always assume someone hasn't read precisely what they wrote. I did and my opinion remains the same.
-
I haven't checked recently but I thought I'd read that there were no marks on him at all and the owners were pending blood test results to establish a cause of death.
-
I would love a front fence!
-
I think the difference is that a child generally knows why he/she is getting a smack. A dog does not. And if you can't understand the difference and why a dog would still wag his tail and come closer after receiving a smack then perhaps you should rethink fostering.
-
And they are. I think that this devalues pedigrees entirely. But if enough people who care about the breed simply do not use a dog with blanks in its pedigree, those owners will get the message.
-
I suppose that those involved in the breed know who has these dogs and can choose not to use one as sire or get one of the pups.

Why is he on the ZD? -
Which pound was it?
-
An Airedale is a very different style of dog than a rotti. There is no reason to believe a rotti is any more aggressive than any other breed. If you want a rotti, get a rotti.
-
Is there a news story on this pound theft?
-
I've never seen a dog mistreated at a show but I wonder what would happen if the witnesses to such an incident just bellowed out, 'Don't you bloody hit your dog!' in full view of everyone including stewards and judges. Embarrass the shit out of them.
-
That rather devalues pedigrees.
-
I didn't need to like the page. I could read everything.

Oh previous case. Nothing to do with this one at all. Your ignorance of these events is noted. Results like this never happen here. Does NZ have a lot of hoarding cases?

In comparison 3 years is a VERY long time when you consider what the dogs and cats this couple had went through, and the sheer numbers involved.U Over 50 dogs and more than 100 cats were seized from memory, and they were left with more than 20 animals. How is it going to be policed that they can only have the animals they currently have - is someone going to go and check the microchips every day? You seem to have some personal knowledge of this case beyond what has been reported. Care to share? Yes I do and no thank you. Then don't post. Sorry, didn't realise this was a private thread just for you to post in  It isn't, but unless you were there you're going on gossip which means it is unlikely to be true, and if you were, you had something to do with the case which means even the little 'I know something you don't' hints you're dropping shows an irresponsible lack of professionalism.

Why didn't the council do something before another dog got killed?
