Review Of Australian Quarrantine Importation
Sheridan replied to zeebie's topic in General Dog Discussion
no. It is about the perceived level of Rabies control and relations between AQIS and other government bodies. Well, whatever it is, there is still a question about what happens if you want to import a Russian dog. -
Any News On Ned Please?

Good news. Like everyone else I hope to see some happy snaps. -
I don't know if people are aware of Kickstarter. It's a website where people put forward requests to crowdsource funding of their projects. Some are films, some are books, or music. People like Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer use Kickstarter for their projects a fair amount. Some projects are funded to 1000s of a per cent of the actual amount requested. Some are never funded at all. It all depends on what takes people's fancy. Other sites like Kickstarter are Pozible and Sponsume but Kickstarter is probably the best known. I keep an eye out for interesting projects on these sites. People can send $1.00 or send $100 or whatever amount you want. The theory is that it is hard these days to get a lot of funding out of one company/person but if a thousand people contribute $10.00 then that's $10,000 of funding. Many hands make light work. Anyway, I was looking on Kickstarter for interesting projects and typed in the word 'dog' to see what came up. There's a few but given there's a fair few pitbull fans here on DOL, I thought I'd bring this one to people's attention. I have no involvement with this project and indeed, am not sponsoring it. I just found it a few minutes ago. I'm a Good Dog Tour

Review Of Australian Quarrantine Importation

You know of two dogs and assume that no one in Russia health tests so generalisation much? -
Thats because you dont understand that its isn't MY definition - its the definition which law makers and those responsible for the various codes etc use. We attended a round table meeting with many many other dog related groups including the ANKC, AVA, PIAA, AAPDB,RSPCA several states etc and there was a consesus drawn on what the definition was to be used Australia wide of a puppy farmer . I didnt much like it but it wasnt MY call. The fact that other people havent taken that on board and that their definition is different to that which has been agreed upon has nothing to do with me however, every time I bring it up as a way of explanation as to current events it falls on deaf ears and somehow or other turns into MY definition or some crap about me supporting puppy farmers.Rubbish. It simply explains why nothing will ever progress as long as this continues with most of the world believing a puppy farm is different to the other half and why when they deny buying from puppy farms they believe they are telling the truth based on the agreed upon definition. Actually, Steve, it's because when you bring up this definition of a puppyfarm thing it just obfuscates what people are talking about.

What were his other levels like?

Breaking news that the owner of the dog that killed Ayen Chen has been fined $11,000. No other news yet.

Does it mean they're changing country classifications, too? -
Tramadol turned Grumpy into a berserker alien. He spent 14 hours in the car, tried to attack anything that moved, and has freaked out in the car ever since. It's supposed to last 12 hours; I had to take the week off work and he didn't return to normal for four days.
-
You keep bringing this up, Steve. All I've worked out is that your definition of a puppyfarm isn't the same as other people.
-
I asked other wheaten people which vet they went to locally.
-
Honestly, Puppoochi, I find it somewhat puzzling that you would post such opinions on a dog forum given your line of business.
-
I suspect that m-sass and puppoochi are the same person.
-
Whatever you reckon. This is the kind of reply I would be expecting from one eyed anti BSL supporter. Nothing constructive to ad, just there, ready to denigrate anyone they can, even if they have to twist what people say. To my mind, you are missing the point of anti-BSL, which is that a what a dog does isn't tied to its breed and that any dog can go bad in the hands of a useless owner, even indeed, chihauhuas. So, I have to ask, what is it that you want? Are you like m-sass, wanting all crossbreeds dead? Are you pro-BSL to the extent that anything that looks like a pitbull, no matter what its actual background, is sent off to the slaughterhouse? I am missing something and I hope you can explain what you mean.
-
Or we could just shut down puppyfarms.
-
But be aware of Tramadol side effects, especially the one about how they can turn into berserker dog. There are a number of NSAIDS similar to Rimadyl. I don't know that any are cheaper or better.
-
Clean every thing up asap, get sick dogs out of there. Make it look all clean and pretty for when they come so you don't get shut down. Yep - except would they get shut down if they had Parvo? Why would you get shut down if there was no evidence of parvo?
-
Hypothethical:You're a puppyfarmer. You receive a call saying that puppies from your farm have come down with parvovirus. You are told that the council is investigating and you should expect a visit from the RSPCA.What do you do?

According to the PIAA industry directory, 'Passion for Pets', mentioned in the article is a member. There are a number of Pets Paradise members, though I couldn't see those mentioned in the article. Ironic given this: And this: http://piaa.net.au/news/legislating-to-end-puppy-farming/</H4>

Then keetamouse, I suggest that it is often in the way a dog is treated as to how it behaves. -

Interesting to see that none of the previously reported behaviours have manifested. -
Shorter m-sass: kill all the mutts.
-
Yes, I can see how helpful that forum is ...
-
And I ask again, what is DPI doing about it? Nothing?
