And certainly, if it's in Publisher an offset printer (regular printer) will either not touch it or will charge you far more than you want to spend. Publisher isn't a publishing program. It's Word with textboxes. Printers hate Publisher. A digital printer will work best for you. Just remember that most so-called digital printing machines are just fancy photocopiers. The printers will charge you by the page so you should be try to save money with your binding, paper and card for your cover. You'll need to specify paper. Are you looking for something like a Reflex copying paper or something nicer? Are you looking for just a staple binding or more of a book style? Are you looking for a glossy cover? If you can go in with an idea of what you want, you'll end up with a better product.

Can you point to some articles? I've not seen any, unless you mean pet shops vs puppyfarms?

Rescue Dogs With Medical Problems
Sheridan replied to Every Greyhound's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
What size tablets are they? Grumpy is on the 60 mg but I ran out recently and the vet only had 30 mg in stock. Had to give him two tablets at once. -
having spent the fisrt 22 years of my life in the UK, I'd say you were wrong on all counts there. Maybe it differs between different areas of the UK and who you meet? I've been to UK at least 10 times (I've lost count) and I find the people really miserable. Maybe you need to widen your range of people.

Coroner Calls For Laws On Breeding Restricted Breeds
Sheridan replied to Alyosha's topic in In The News
Now, why would we do something so logical when m-sass and Brookestar know everything? For the latter's FYI, just because no one sees a dog being walked, it doesn't mean a dog is not being walked. There are plenty of DOLers who walk their dogs at stupid o'clock because of various factors. -
Rescue Dogs With Medical Problems
Sheridan replied to Every Greyhound's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Cushing's is an expensive disease to diagnose and treat. Just a reminder, though, that the dosage of Trilostane goes on the weight of the dog so you'll need to find a rescue or other dog in the same weight range. It's a generous gesture. :) -
Best thing for your dog is for him to go with you.

Not Happy Jan - People Ignoring 'rules'

I would never let a total stranger in my home or near my dogs! Hmmmm....maybe that's why I haven't had a holiday in 16 years! I have staycations. -
This.
-
Outside of the persistent view of don't buy, adopt, there exists the persistent view that pedigree dogs are only for show and are more expensive than pet shop dogs.
-
This is actually true. Not really.

This is RSPCA Queensland financial statement for 2010-11. Can they afford to upgrade security? http://www.rspcaqld.org.au/Information/~/media/2F571F9460EB4352ADDD871409D73812.ashx

PETA at its very best, they managed to market that message well. Honestly, does anyone really believe that a pound pup dies because a purebred breeder breeds?? I know there are extremists but generally I think common sense prevails and the average person does not think that if a purebred breeder has a litter that means that pound dogs won't get a home. If breeding was left to the purebred dog breeders, I doubt we would end up with so many in pounds. Not breeding pets (compulsory desexing) and the removal of puppy mills would make the world a lot nicer place for mans best friend... I think you have a positive view of people's ability to comprehend basic logic.

Me either. Or with my house. -
How is asal spamming?

To state it quite clearly, lavendergirl cannot justify that the 'general public' believes that "a puppy farmer is someone who keeps their dogs in substandard conditions". She has been asked 'according to whom' and will not answer it. She chose to attack me instead.
-
All you get with government regulation is the RSPCA. Oh yes, and the state of Victoria.
-
Well done, asal. They are answerable to no one and the NSW RSPCA, in particular, seems to be especially awful.
-
Thank you :) I was the second who questioned him re: socialisation of puppies and my friend was the first who mentioned the keeping of the breeding bitches. I had a lot more I wanted to say that night but unfortunately I was supposed to be there in an 'observational' capacity only. Couldn't keep my mouth shut at the puppy farming b##stard though. Well done, melzawelza! Any reason for this not to go on the Insight Facebook page? That's cheque, savings or credit. The dog can be 'interested' in cats, but it can't want to kill them. Presumably no terriers are ever rehomed by the RSPCA.

I noticed that the woman with the bichon frise was pretty much guilted for going to a breeder instead of adopting from a shelter.

C'mon - ask a person on the street if a puppy farm is a good or bad thing and what answer do you think you will get?? A question which doesn't provide the answer as to what the general public thinks a puppy farm is. This is Steve's comment I was responding to: "a puppy farmer is someone who keeps their dogs in substandard conditions" I said that the general public thinks that is what a puppy farm is. I don't know if you ever talk to the average person but there is a widespread belief that description is accurate. And again, according to whom? People you speak to in the street? This directly contradicts my people in the street who simply consider a puppyfarm as a commercial enterprise. No conditions mentioned. Well the people in your street must live in cloud cuckoo land to not have heard about all the appalling puppy farm stories is all I can say to that  Where did I say that they hadn't heard of appalling puppy farm stories? I'm looking back through the thread and I can't see where I have posted anything even remotely like what you have claimed. Please advise where I have posted this. Oh forget it and take a chill pill for God's sake. Ah, the response that says 'I can't justify my bullshit.' Just as I thought. Typical.

It is because the word puppy farm gets thrown around to much and it is hard for people to distinguish what a puppy farm is, they think of the crammed illegal mills that you see all over google, when in fact a puppy farm is a commercial breeding facility, but because some of these places seem so reputable they see them as breeders not farmers...... more effort needs to go into teaching people about what a farm really is Agreed - but what a farm is according to who? You say its a commercial breeding facility but that's not the definition used by governments and many canine groups who have agreed that the definition of a puppy farmer is someone who keeps their dogs in substandard conditions. Once you begin to judge someone based on what appears to be their motivation eg breeding for profit you hit a whole new set of problems. Here we go again. According to whom? C'mon - ask a person on the street if a puppy farm is a good or bad thing and what answer do you think you will get?? A question which doesn't provide the answer as to what the general public thinks a puppy farm is.
