1. Little bit of a Grumpy update. He had his Cushings test on Friday and his results aren't great. Not awful but not great either. His medication dosage has been upped considerably. As to his dementia, that seems a little better since last report, though he still stands and stares into a room that I'm not in (as if I'll just appear). I really do think it's his eyesight. Funnily enough, he's fine when he's outside at night in the pitch black. Before Christmas, we're heading back to the vet to check out a few more things that we didn't get done while there for the test. It's tiring for him and tends to wipe him out for the rest of the day.
 2. I think it's that with the Internet we hear about it more.
 3. It's got a bad rap but Rimadyl or some other NSAID may help. You could also consider a doggy physio. I've noticed that while he still has a lot of difficulty, Grumpy is less slippy since seeing the physio.
 4. Now all you need is a little boy to balance things out ... don't skyes come in threes?
 5. I think if someone came up to me and asked if my dog was neutered, they not only be told to f%#k off, they'd get a lecture on not equating an unneutered pet with irresponsible dog ownership.
 6. You could have him checked for a UTI but if its behavioural you may need to start his housetraining all over again.
 7. Did you get the L/D? I found this site has it: http://www.thevetshed.com.au/buy/l-d-canine-cans-hills-prescrition-tray-of-12/HPCLDC
 8. Where did Pav say she wanted the dog to have a terrible death? Dogs rarely die because of a c-section. Really? Well, dear me. Her anti-crossbreed posts elsewhere must have given me that impression.
 9.

Seems to me you equate an emergency c-section with "a horrible death".

I think you've taken one large step beyond what Pav was saying. Given that PL was over her fence just recently in the early hours of the morning to assist a little crossbred pup who's idiot owner gave it access to large fishing hooks and then wanted to tear them out like you would on a fish, can I politely suggest you have absolutely no idea who you are talking about.

And she rescues and rehomes Whippets without pedigree papers. *gasp*
Yes, gasp. Yet her posts here and elsewhere leave me underwhelmed.
 10.

It seems your sense of right and wrong has become extremely warped if you're wishing ill on a dog.

I wish a c-section on those poor puppy farm bitches too. I'd consider it a kinder option to be discarded early in life, even if it results in death, then to be bred and bred, until you can breed no more.

If you saw a dog hit by a car, would you help it or ask for pedigree papers first?

I'm probably the person you'd hope would see and stop, given my skills in dog first aid and the assistance I could render.
Hoped, yes, but given you're wishing a horrible death on a dog to teach its owners a lesson ... #shrug

I don't see the difference between wishing a dog to die a horrible death to teach its owners a lesson, whether that be giving birth or otherwise.

 14. I lived here for 15 months, but went to somewhere else for 6 months. I was the resident doggy sitter before I got Cougar, so all the dogs know me well. The little girl of the idiot, used to come & bark at my door, when he left her outside in the cold & rain, while he visited a neighbour, because she wouldn't let the dog into her unit. I would take her in & dry her & wait until the idiot came looking for her to take her back to his unit. Gawd I hate this man. I just have to hope that the Ranger can actually get him to do the right thing. Seeing as he is willing to lie to get his own way, I don't dare contacting the Office of Housing, who knows what lies he would tell them. Anyway, I got told by one of the other neighbours, that he is going away touring for awhile, it would be great if he never came back. BODY CORPORATE. There is no Body Corporate, because it is Public Housing, I would have to report him to the Office of Housing & I'm now too scared to do that, because he is such a liar & very nasty man. If you're not prepared to report him then I'm not sure there's anything that can be done.

 16. Anyone know if the 1st person on the list picked him up?
 17. And with Renae's test. Please let us know how she goes.
 18. If you're in a body corporate, can't you complain to them. If all members vote that dogs must be on lead, etc, within the grounds then wouldn't he have to comply?
 19. Thank you Sheridan for your reply :) If it comes to that I will stay with her, if she needs that other test. I will bring it up with the vet. Hope Grumpy is doing ok all things considering? He's having his 3 monthly update test on Friday. Hopefully, his cortisol levels will be good.
 20. Thanks to Stellnme for the kind words. There are two Cushings tests. With the first, Grumpy came up negative. The eight hour Dexamethasone Suppression Test, he came up positive. Addisons is the opposite of Cushings, not enough cortisol in the body rather than too much. Grumpy gets tremors but this is a result of the medication. He didn't have them beforehand. Grumpy doesn't do we'll at the vet. He gets, well, grumpy. For the DST test, I stayed at the vet all day with him. They set me up in the back room with Grumpy and I worked from there. Perhaps you could ask to stay as I did.
 21. RSPCA Australia/AWC/VPC joint workshop Development of a national strategy towards humane vertebrate pest control Canberra 2003 Jed, did you just cite the RSPCA?
