  1. What a handsome man. That photo of him and the horse is lovely.
  2. Oh, I am sorry, Pers. Bloody snakes.
  3. Snakes are protected you can't legally just kill them unless you can prove your wheer truly threatened. The fines are massive & there is a jail term Then I can only assume that the authorities care more about snakes than they do about people and indeed any other animal.
  4. That sounds completely ridiculous. Do they not care for people's safety?
  5. Well, Rebanne has a good point here. You still pay for dogs from pounds and rescue, do you not? Why is the language different? I'm not having a go at you here but it's interesting that it is different and it's only been different in recent years.
  6. In the header it says 'pure breed dog community'. It doesn't say animal lovers forum. Do you love all animals? Rats? Mice? Snakes? Cats? Are you especially fond of crocodiles?
  7. Thank you, Woof, and TSD. I did see him eyeing off my Lagavulin, so I wouldn't be surprised at his partiality for a good single malt.
  8. It could be something as simple as older breeders retiring and there being less younger breeders coming up. How much encouragement is there for new breeders from older breeders? It all seems to be a push for co-ownership these days and breeders terms rather than mentoring new people.
  9. I'll disagree with you in that this is a clear swipe at LDH more than anything. That it comes from the Hun is quite remarkable, given their support of LDH previously.
  10. My two are former show dogs but even so, showing was a hobby for their previous owners. Grumpy also sired two litters. I think show dogs and breeding dogs are generally pets first and foremost.
  11. I didn't say that AND I hate PETA I said that people see a shelter dog and if it is not adopted it will die and breeders dogs are safe and shouldn't be in danger of dying if it doesn't find a home. Thats why I think some choose to adopt also you can find purebred dogs in rescue/shelter for a fraction of the cost with all medical done. You may hate them but you have bought into their blame game. As to purebred dogs in shelters, you are also buying into the viewpoint that any dog will do. Please guess how many of my breeds I have come across in shelters. Go on. Guess. How have I bought into their game? I simply stated why I think some people adopt rather than buy from breeders. People are free to get their dogs from anywhere they please, if you have a love for a breed that dont hit shelters often or you would rather have one with papers then go to a breeder makes sense to me but most people just want a pet and a shelter dog is what they want. Most? If most people wanted a shelter dog there wouldn't be any dogs in shelters. Sorry most people just want a pet. Not most people want a shelter pet Why do you think that pedigree dogs are not pets?
  12. I think the astonishing thing there is that Albury has an airport. I would be very surprised if Qantas flew animals from a small regional airport. I don't think they have much more than Dash 8s fly out of them and they don't take animals. Are you sure you are able to fly your puppy out of Albury?
  13. There was actually more wheatens in this period than previous years.

  15. I didn't say you should. I just assumed the breeder would. If it's all too hard for her then perhaps she should just let it go.

  17. Such people rely on a culture of guilt and I have nothing to be guilty about.
  18. Given the RSPCA is a charity is it FOI-able? It's never too late for a lawyer even if it's just for an inquiry
  19. Okay but it still doesn't make sense against what you posted earlier so Anyway, after some contemplation, I think some breeds are better off without a breed club. Because people.
  20. I don't see a lot of pugs other than at shows. I see the occasional odd looking dog that I think is probably a cross. Mostly working dogs, bitsas, and labs around here.
  21. Neither do I but unfortunately, according to an editorial I read recently, they are on a rocket rise to popularity. Pugs, you mean?
