Uk Research Finds Dogs Take An Owner's Point Of View Into Consider
Sheridan replied to minimax's topic in In The News
Really interesting article but I don't think dogs think they're human, I think they think we're dogs. -
And some of us have had dogs attacked and speak from experience. Don't be so quick to dismiss people's fears as 'what ifs'.
-
And it's so rare that it made the news. It's not the only one that's made the news recently but think of how often it might happen where it doesn't make the news. People, do what you like, but please don't bitch about those of us who won't leave our dogs to chance outside a shop. I hope that second line isn't directed at me, because nowhere did I bitch about people not doing it. In fact, my main remark was that people should 'mind their own business', so effectively I've been asking of you what you seem to be asking of me. The dog world is so incredibly full of judgement - we really should just learn to live and let live. I think if your dog was hurt outside a shop or had it's lead taken off, you'd be pretty judgemental about those who did it, no?

I am so sorry, Pers. Such a beautiful boy, clearly such a light in your life. He'll be organising the cat in trees brigade at the Bridge right now.

My view is discuss with Nekhbet, too. :) She would probably be safer in the crate but can she hang on for hours?

So what if it's normal throughout Europe. I don't live in Europe. You might want to risk your dogs being stolen or hurt or killed but I certainly do not.

I think many of us have more of a concern for our dogs than for what is an everyday occurance in England.

Determining The Food Your Dog Does Best On
Sheridan replied to Salukifan's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
With Miss Mini, I don't have to feed her much because she's not all that interested in food. I have been trying to find something that interests her but other than the cheapo chicken treats from Aldi and roast chicken, no real luck so far. I can't remember the last time she went to the vet. Possibly April 2012 when she had her annual. No sense of smell, me, so can't tell. But her poo is kind of in between firm and mousse. Firm mousse? I know her teeth need a good clean but she prefers buried treasure to eating bones. She'll sometimes gobble down a pig's ear but she prefers burying those, too. Some of this is because she no longer has competition from Grumpy. Doing this at the moment. She's like a cat! -
The smooth foxy didn't do much for me but I really liked the wire. The border was very nice and so was the Jack (sorry, none of this 'Russell' terrier nonsense; it's a Jack Russell).

Hope Roo was okay when you got home today, Jelly.

Does Anyone Have Room For A 15yo Goldie Girl?
Sheridan replied to gillbear's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
I think it's appalling. -
Labradore, I'm still waiting on you to tell me where you got the information that he did it deliberately as you claimed.

Not according to some people in the supermarket thread.

Is It Ok To Promote A Dog Related Business Here?
Sheridan replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
Forum rule: No Commercial Advertising (including banners in Signatures) No commercial advertising in any form is permitted (except in the Commercial marketplace forum). This applies even if you are a 'hobby' business. This includes signature images, competitions, awards, sponsorships, 'product research', feedback requests etc. We will permit a text link in your signature as long as the font size is a maximum of '2' and the site that it links to does not contain dog forums and/or similar content to what Dogz Online has. Commercial Advertising does not refer to discussion about a business by a member who is not related in some way to the business in question. -
Grumpy presented with similar symptoms. Throwing up, pancreatic symptoms but not pancreatitis. High liver enzymes but urine indicated not liver cancer. Big lump near the pancreas. This turned out to be a cyst. Vet didn't want to operate because of Grumpy's age but did an ultrasound and x-ray. However, the vet looked at everything and suggested he had Cushings. First test was negative but the second test (the 8 hour test) was positive. I'd be looking at Cushing's/Addison's, etc, before operating. No harm in testing and if the tests come up negative then look at operating. That's my suggestion anyway.

Let us know now she is when you get home.

Where is your evidence for this?

Unfortunate about the uni girls.

I understand it could be a sensitive issue for people to write about. However, I was only referring to the posters who had taken the time to express empathy for the guy in this thread without expressing any sympathy for the poor dog. which if this is a forum of dog lovers as you put it, I thought that would be a normal thing to do in a thread like this and have seen this done in many other threads, so why not this one. I wouldn't have thought that needed to be stated on a forum full of dog lovers but perhaps you like things to be spelled out in detail.

What Not even the smell of hot buttered toast and vegemite?? I can smell mould and lemon. That's pretty much it.

Quite restrained with the fish! If they were wheatens, they'd stand for a moment, stare at you with a big grin on their faces, and then roll on the dead fish.

Can't smell a thing in my house.
