  1. She used a travel agent but I'm not sure who.
  2. I certainly don't agree with TNR. Those cats still kill. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-07-31/feral-cats-take-devastating-toll-on-outback-bilbies/4165784
  3. Yes, staffydave, thanks to people who have made it about them and who have tried to derail it into a size issue. This thread is not about size nor is it about you or Mantis or anyone else.
  4. Sorry, didn't see this. If she's otherwise doing well on the current diet, I would feed more to start with to see how she goes.
  5. You can lead a horse to water as the saying goes... If people want to research they will, if they don't they won't - nothing you can do about it. I think registered pure breed breeders need to advertise in places that the average person looks at for a puppy Trading Post Petlink Local Paper These places are full of BYB and very few pure bred puppies - go to the buyers ! I think pets are on a big decline everywhere - Many people don't have time, or expenses for pets these days. And with a trend towards high density living people also don't have the space they think a pet needs.
  6. Of course the Labrador was fat, they are all fat I once met a guide dog Labrador who wasn't fat but thing was, I didn't actually recognise her as a Labrador.
  7. I know I shouldn't but I can't control myself, maybe it's because I'm a "dangerous weapon" like my dogs. Mantis, is your current dog DA? We're familiar with Kenny's story but I wasn't aware your current dog had any issue other than you being too scared to go for a walk in case something happened because of your neighbour's dog being off lead.
  8. I get the impression that people think it's deserved because they're no kill but I said it as a question, hence the question mark. I realise people have issues with no kill but my view is down to how it's managed. There are plenty of registered breeders that kennel their dogs and plenty of people on DOL who think that's just fine.
  9. http://www.crufts.org.uk/ Friend of mine went this year. There's accommodation nearby and you can book the tickets on the website.
  10. Having me around always helped for Grumpy man but you do have to keep an eye out for them not being able to cope on their own. That was the measure for me.
  11. I suspect the place is just run down and messy. No, I haven't been there but the photos I've seen, the dogs look happy enough and I have not heard reports of dogs going kennel crazy. If it was a registered breeder or someone on DOL (let's think of who's had the RSPCA turn up and grab dogs for no apparent reason) people would be up in arms. Because it's a no kill shelter and there are those who don't agree with no kill, it's well deserved and should have happened years ago?
  12. No - shooting a dog because the owner surrendered it . Surrendered dogs around those outback towns usually end that way and most times on the same day. The big deal here is the ranger talked the owner into it by lying but at the end of the day once ownership is no longer an issue its off you go. He may as well have shot the dog in the backyard and dumped it in one of the bins.
  13. Oh Jelly, I am very sorry to hear Roo has been up to mischief. You must be so tired and worried.
  14. Since when has expressing bewilderment at what someone is on about an attack?
  15. Getting concerned we haven't heard from Jelly for a while.
  16. I'm not sure what you're interest is if you have no interest in the dogs?
  17. I don't think Westiemum had any luck getting Aktivait into the country?
  18. Can't help someone who doesn't want help. You can't force Lola to change her save them all philosophy and my offers of help were ignored. But at least the DOL rescue police got them to desex more before rehoming, having lived in the area the last thing it needs is more entire pets being practically given away. As I recall from the old thread, someone from Moorook posted saying dogs were being desexed, unless the thread about the bedding was a newer one and there was a previous one where DOL had a go at them and got them to change their ways? There may well have been. These things tend to go in circles.
  19. What I remember from the previous thread that there was a lot of huffy puffy outrage from the regular DOL rescue police and absolutely no offers to help get them on track.
  20. That's what happened to Grumpy. He would get himself stuck and not be able to work out how to turn around. The Vivitonin stopped working, I think. And that reminds me that I promised you the lights. Will organise myself.
  21. Have those criticising been there to see these apparently substandard conditions?
