Bolded is where they lose me.

Notably, as I've said before, the ACT RSPCA hasn't any money. Yes, ACT RSPCA resources are poured into the family pets 'in their care' looking for new homes. RSPCA ACT is a thorn in side of RSPCA in every other state in Aust as ACT do offer rehabilitation, training, socialisation and they address all medical needs. Temp test's are also brilliant as individual circumstance, breed traits and socialisation is taken into consideration. I know a few people who have recommended their dog training. And of course, there's no BSL in the ACT and the CEO has a sweet little pitty girl.

Given both mantis and tarope have now accused me of working for, supporting, getting a bung from the RSPCA, I'd suggest there's some PMing going on. It's designed to distract. It was a joke sheridan, you told me to keep being hilarious didn't you...can't you take a joke ? I didn't get upset with your comments about rescue dogs that mantis and I have. You can accuse me of supporting the R$PCA if you like...now that would be hilarious. :D What comments have I made about your dogs? I don't even know what dogs you have nor do I care. I know mantis' previous dog was Kenny and has had problems with a neighbour regarding the current dog. That's the some total of my knowledge of your dogs and mantis' dogs. You're backtracking because you've been pinged by other people, that's all. So now I'm backtracking you say, I don't care what other people think... what about your rather nasty sarcastic comments about what I said. The mere suggestion that the R$PCA would give money to anyone for anything is hilarious in itself...only you don't see the funny side. :D So, have I made comments about your and mantis' dogs or not?

Which is true, it's all about research. Sure, but slamming a purebreed website? Troy is pretty careful about his breeder members. A couple of years ago I checked names that exported via McDougall against DOL and some were listed here.

And when asked, no one can ever explain it - not even the loudest supporters! It's to something something puppy farms something something.

+1 The thought that Sheridan hates rescue dogs or gets commissions is completely laughable. How about having a factual discussion instead of beating up on posters who may appear to disagree with your beliefs when they are only wanting clarification for comments made. I understand that the RSPCA's way of doing things is pretty awful but to accuse a Doler of doing a 'crawley-lick-b*m-suck-up' act to them is a bit much. Actually, the funny thing is the suggestion that the RSPCA pays bungs to supporters. Can you see that happening?

I wasn't talking about Clifford, Jed, not until Mantis claimed he was unvetted. I was only talking about Charlie.

I imagine people can ask. Whether or not you get an answer and if you do, whether it actually does provide you any useful information is another matter.

15yr Old Cattle Dog In Hawkesbury
Sheridan replied to HazyWal's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Oh, poor little man. I hate seeing the oldies in pounds. -
Snopes and Hoaxslayer - my favourites!

Really? Strange that Clifford's pics were plastered all over the media. Are you saying Clifford was unassessed and unvetted? Yes, when they first started using him as a money making machine, he was still seriously injured & getting treatment. I don't understand why you are always defending them, unless you have some connection with them. Where have I defended them, mantis? How is asking questions a defence? Please be rational.

A woman on the facebook page is claiming to have been with him half an hour before he was put to sleep. "I witnessed this photo being taken. This is at rspca burwood. I knew this dog well. He was healthy. He did not die of parvo. He did not have behavioural issues. He was not aggressive. He was a sweet, gentle boy who should not have been killed." I'm guessing she knows the creator/s of the page or was a 'liker' of the page which was already against RSPCA and she gave them this as another story to use. Nothing to say he is an RSPCA dog or the 'face' of MPW but his picture was definitely used for RSPCA MPW advertising. Now apparently RSPCA Vic have come back with details on the dog.. "we had thought from the limited information provided that Charlie was from NSW but we apologise if that is not the case. The information states that Charlie failed his temperament test in 2010 so that would mean he was still in quarantine and we never take pictures and use them publicly unless that pooch has already been adopted or is awaiting adoption. In both cases he would have already passed his health and temperament test." Well, it becomes even more confusing. If the dog wasn't pts, then why didn't they add 'and he was adopted on ...' and if he was pts, why haven't they said so? I agree with Minimax on the advertising, though. It's become quite hazy, though I am glad some clarity is appearing at last.
-
Nothing in that article to say he was euthanised, so how do they know he was? There isn't anything to say he was the 'face' of the MPW or even an RSPCA dog, though this is implied. What is interesting is the Media Monitors logo.

I thought it was a FB photo that someone has pinched.
-
Im pretty sure I'd be the same, Boronia. I don't donate to the RSPCA but if they had a dog that suited me, why should I give that dog a miss? It doesn't hurt the RSPCA if people don't adopt. As has been noted, they have plenty of money and if no one adopts then it only hurts the dogs. Blind hatred tends to blind.
-
Okay, we're up to six dogs not adopted from the RSPCA. I'm sure we'll manage to find some more.
-
Wow, rescued dogs. Amazing.
-
Erny, my post was about Charlie, as I have already pointed out to you in my last post. I'm not talking about Clifford. I think others have already answered your question in that regard.
-
Sheridan, Can you prove there's life on other planets ? Seriously, tarope? That's your response? Do you really think the RSPCA can erase evidence of a media promotion from the Internet? Or are you claiming the RSPCA, media savvy and online for years, didn't promote a MPW online? If I had a web site I could make any changes I wanted, just as I can change or edit my posts on DOL...anything can be changed or deleted by the copyright holder. So the answer is...yes they can. :D There are ways to see the history of websites after they've been deleted.. lol. Snook, I'm just going to go with tarope not knowing how the Internet works. Nor indeed media promotions.
-
As I said...I could be wrong. Tarope, what I am a supporter of is logic and truth, rather than ridiculous hysteria. Here is logic: one dog that you got from a rescue group is not evidence of people no longer adopting dogs from the RSPCA. Logic, try it. Your accusation that I am an RSPCA supporter is, as usual, when you are unable to prove your claim, simply meant to deflect attention from you. If you have evidence that people are abandoning the RSPCA then post it. Can't be that hard. The fact that the R$PCA is crying foul that people are going elsewhere to buy dogs is in itself prof enough...don't you think. :D Ah, tarope, just keep on being hilarious.
