  1. Bunny wanted to eat the remote control and I didn't let her. She had to hump Roo to make herself feel important.
  2. Could she be picking up on your feelings?
  3. So far they're just trying to eat it.
  4. Could you have the crate, leave it open and have a puppy pen for her to move around and do a wee if needed? I'm not sure how old your dog is but mine are 16 and 12 weeks respectively. They are currently at 5-6 hours overnight to hold on so your dog could do it but a pen with lots of toys as well as a crate might work better. I got a fantastic pen off crazy sales.
  5. Thanks, guys. It turns out Bunnings had some 1 x 1 metre pieces for $11 nowhere near the rest of the fake grass. Came across them when buying a gazebo.
  6. Thanks, coogie. :) they are pests and terrors and so very full on. I completely adore them. Reporting back on the toilet training, water drinking: I halved Roo's kibble yesterday and gave him raw mince. He drank much less, so thanks for the suggestions. I'll do the same tonight. This morning they got a boiled egg each with their kibble. On toilet training, can I say I love my steam cleaner? No wees in the lounge room at all. Bunny did a wee by the back door last night. I was trying to get Roo up to go out (once he's asleep, he's really asleep) and I suppose she just couldn't hang on anymore. Roo did one this morning, also by the back door. I didn't hear him tap but he's done that before. A bell to go out and then when I can trust them a bit more (like when they're 15), a doggy door? Bullbreedboy, fake grass at Bunnings is bloody expensive!
  7. Yes, I think I'll start doing that. Thanks for the suggestion. I am treating with things like devon, etc, which do have a high salt content. It's hard to find something soft and high value which doesn't have a big amount of salt. I did try just chicken but its too flaky. Happy for suggestions. I am keen to try raw by the way but am unsure of quantity for two growing puppies. I'll also have a look at the salt content. Roo was originally on Proplan puppy but he had the softest and smelliest poos. I wonder if poo consistency is in inverse proportion to the level of salt? But then, Bunny is on the same food and doesn't drink as much.
  8. Advance Puppy and boiled chicken or beef mince. Fish and egg once a week. Training treats. I feed this to both and Bunny drinks far less than he does. Please don't tell me to feed raw.
  9. Puts fake grass on the shopping list. Have also found somewhere that sells belly bands. Roo drinks an enormous amount of water at night. Just at night. He went most of the day without one.
  10. Not so much today. I'm working in the garden. Bunny is asleep in a crate. Roo is asleep on his outside bed. They also essentially ignored the kids on the trampoline! Good puppies (aside from the wee on the blanket - yes, Rooboy, I'm looking at you).
  11. He definitely did pee on the floor ten minutes ago.
  12. Bunny is a bit difficult to photograph and Roo won't stay still for long.
  13. Thanks. Haven't seen bitter apple to buy for years.
  14. A couple of tradies I've spoken to recently have suggested a citronella spray to keep the dogs from chewing particular objects. Outside of citronella collars to keep dogs from barking I've not heard of a separate spray. Has anyone else and is it effective? I'm not keen on negative conditioning (my experience is that it makes them fearful of the owner) but I thought I'd check others' experiences and if there is such a thing.
  15. Took a Bunny for a walk this afternoon. Established she's a bit scared of cars whizzing past. More work to do there. Roo seems to have howled most of the time we were gone, as far as I can tell. He had plenty of toys and some treats but still howled. Not sure what to do about that.
  16. Are you being serious Sheridan or are you just being facetious? No one has even remotely implied that you are a failure as dog owner and that fact that others do things slightly different to you doesn't make it so either. You've been around DOL for as long as I can remember and you've had dogs for years so I'm pretty sure you know what you are doing and are providing a safe and happy environment for your dogs. I'm not sure where all this self flagellation is coming from. Partly facetious. I have noticed an increase in people saying that things like dog yards (as an example) are necessary these days and it's hardly representative of the main dog owning population. I think that DOLers seem to forget that the average person doesn't have and likely can't afford dog yards and pens and crates and every other accoutrement that many seem to think are necessary to owning a dog. I certainly can't afford a 'purpose built dog yard' and don't have the space for it even if I could.
  17. Finally was able to pull out my laptop. I'm pretending not to be home to see what noise the terrors make. I was out for five hours this morning, too. And aside from an experimental wuff from Bunny because she suspected I was home, there's been silence. Hurray for my puppies!
  18. How big is your dog door Malamum? Do you get worried that people could break in through it? I've considered it but I'm just a bit worried about anyone being able to fit through it. Thanks :) If you were a burglar, would you go through a dog door of that size? Big door generally = very big dog.
  19. Thought I'd got away with a wee free day. Found one that I hadn't noticed. And Roo, little ratbag, went to get a drink. I followed him, did my high pitched 'Come on, baby, outcha come!' He walked back into the lounge and did a wee on the floor.
  20. Full of baby beans. Bunny currently having a meltdown because I've crated her while I have my dinner. I think Roo has gone to sleep.
  21. My the problem is people think the word reputable means good. It doesn't.
  22. Yes, I have a concern about that. I used to leave Mini inside in the aircon but the new two I don't trust inside by themselves at all.
