Dogs with kidney problems have a peculiar smell sometimes.
-
NO it is not a tick. Thanks.
-
Quite blurred pic but is this a tick?
-
Take her to the vet. Don't mess around with eyes. It may be nothing but I'd rather be sure.

Last night's dinner was fine. He had rice and boiled minced turkey pieces. This morning he had some Eaglepack with the rice and turkey. His tummy was making squeaking sounds prior to being fed so I assume he was hungry. In other news, he fell off the grooming table and is now sulking in a polar bear rug imitation. Only the pride was hurt.
-
Going to get some turkey at the supermarket this afternoon, poach it and give it to him this evening with some rice in a couple of small meals rather than one big one. ;) He's doing well atm.
-
He's a little quiet this morning, though that might be just because he usually sleeps during the day. Normal solid poo, ran around earlier, wants to eat.
-
He's much more chirpy now (for a grumpy 12 year old anyway). He's climbed up on my bed and has gone to sleep again. I let him have another drink earlier and will leave out a small thing of water for him overnight. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll let you know how he is in the morning.

This was a fully fledged vomit x 3.
-
Hmmm, I don't have any ice cubes! Believe it or not! Don't tend to use them.
-
I did say to the vet when I rang that I was concerned he would dehydrate since he's thrown up again and the vet said water could make it worse. He's asleep now so I'll give him a few more mouthfuls when he wakes up.
-
No, Stormie. No thermometer. He's still looking for water but seems perkier than half an hour ago. Wags his tail, which he wasn't earlier. He's now sitting on his bed in the kitchen instead of looking miserable on my bed.
-
I rang them back and said he's thrown up twice since I last rang. They said to remove all water and asked what he was throwing up. I said he was still throwing up his dinner (and of course, re-eating it didn't get to the last one in time). Basically they said again to keep an eye on him. I'm checking him every five minutes. ETA: He was looking for water so I took the chance and let him have three mouthfuls.
-
He normally vaccums his dinner. No drink after. He's just been sick again, though, and is very miserable. I rang the vet and they said, keep an eye on him but I'll take him in if he throws up again.
-
My dog's just thrown up his dinner. Anything I need to look out for? The nearest emergency vet is a fair distance away and I don't think I need to take him in. He seems okay other than sort of hiccuping and seeming rather down.

Thanks.

Thornit Ear Powder Or Substitute
Sheridan replied to Sheridan's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Just ordered some from Groomers as per Laffi's post. Lovely lady on the phone, very helpful. -
I bought a few smelly things for dog training treats and realised the chicken loaf has garlic powder and onion powder in it. She loves chicken but I'm not sure of the safety of using something with these in it. I think I'm okay on garlic powder but what do people think about the onion powder? It doesn't say how much is used.
-
Anyone know a cheapish online source for a good ear powder? I've seen Thornit for $26.00 but I'm sure I didn't pay that much last time I bought some.

According to the EP website, this place sells it in Belconnen: AS NATURE INTENDED health food shop Belconnen Retail Markets, Shop 40a Lathlain Street, BELCONNEN 2617 Ph. 02 6253 0444

You should also look at the contents of the VIP Roll. If it has a higher fat content, perhaps you should look at something leaner.
-
This is the only place I've found that sells it. I've not used it myself, though. I should! Anything to make my wheatie's grooming a little easier. Best email them to make sure it's the same product, though, as there's no pic. http://www.dogs.net.au/barkalicious/album2.asp

Some American friends recommend a conditioner called The Stuff, which they put in the dog's coat, after washing or on a dry coat, rubbing it in and then just combing out rather than using a rake.

I'm told that Maadi Pets will also be selling Ziwipeak soon, too.

Old Dogs Who Can't Be Anaesthetised

If it's got Xlylitol in it, I won't use it on my dog.
