  1. I'd never allow a dog on a balcony. Heard too many stories of dog jumping over or getting through the bars. Plus there's stupid people like these kids.
  2. But where do the dogs go in these scenarios?
  3. What kind of car do you have?
  4. I know a lot of show people use Oztrail gazebos. I bought one recently but looking at it, it won't fit in any car I get if I also want to fit the dogs in. What are my other options gazebo wise? Does anyone have another type that nicely folds up into a car boot or back seat?
  5. My beloved late Grumpy man was fond of chicken ...
  6. What Joe Public hears from the media is that skinny models are bad. Plus they read dog food packets which provide how much should be fed. DOLers banging on about being able to feel ribs aren't even on the radar. Most people wouldn't even know what that means.
  7. Can anyone recommend somewhere to get breakaway collars? I previously got mine from Two Small Puppies but I don't they're operating anymore. The puppies use regular collars as weapons in their play fighting so I can't leave them on.
  8. I will check out Chunkers next time I'm in town, thanks! Anyone got any tips on puppy bathing. Contrast the two: Bunny was frightened but she just stood there and was delighted drying became a game. Roo was terrified, fought me every step of the way, and has now fallen asleep into an exhausted sleep. BTW, I did do the whole yummy treat thing. Roo ate the treats but didn't calm down.
  9. That's 3 days without a wee in the house from Master Roo. Miss Bunny has not been so good. Found a poo in her lounge room crate this morning. She's also having a tantrum about going outside while I get ready for work, though Roo also had a tantrum this morning. Puppy tantrums are hilariously two-year-old in supermarket lolly aisle-like.
  10. The difference between I want out of this crate and I need to go out to do a wee is very hard to distinguish. I mentioned this in my two puppies thread. I have been, only recently, in this exact same position of working out if puppy (two puppies) was having a tantrum or needing to go outside. I didn't use the leash method because it simply didn't work. Puppies have to be trained to be on leash and mine considered theirs toys for some time. Plus, taking two out on leash at once? Horrendous. For Roo, who has been the more difficult to housetrain, I have to really be on the ball and make going outside a tremendously exciting game where glorious treats result. I have, also, taken to leaving their water bowl outside so if they want a drink they have to go to the back door.
  11. Bunny did another wee this morning and I think it's because she does a tiny wee at night and is then hanging on for six hours. Roo just wandered out at his own pace and did a wee outside. I'd rather not wake Bunny up during the night so tomorrow I might let her out first and go back to get Roo. Last night Roo and I practiced some puppy school things, including sitting on his mat, being handled, listening to dog clippers, a couple of tricks, and a few others. He did very well but there weren't other puppies around to distract him. Other than Bunny, that is, and she got bonus points for sitting quietly in her crate.
  12. Well, it was my first full day back at work today leaving the puppies to wreak havoc at home by themselves. I woke up with a tension headache this morning having barely slept with worry. I was also late back because an email came in that I had to respond to. Naturally, I arrived home and they were all, 'Oh, hi.'
  13. Oh, the crate tantrums! So been there! Still there!
  14. Please congratulate Bunny and Roo on their very first house wee free day. :)
  15. I can't remember if they took the pup to the vet.
  16. Bunny likes it and gobbles it down. I bought some ProPlan yesterday and mixed some in with the Advance and he's also gobbled down his brekkie. The other change I made was to use raised bowls and that seems to have helped as well. Doesn't stop the stampy from Roo but he does eat all his food. I'm ignoring the stampy as is Bunny. Last night's storm experience was interesting. Bunny climbed up on the couch and trembled, panting heavily for hours. I finally got tired of the panting and shoved her off the couch where she sat down and stopped the panting immediately. Roo got clingy and also got up on the couch where he fell asleep. I think they associated the noise with the house because it sounded like it came from the ceiling. I was caught short in the treat department so couldn't shove things in their mouths but what little I did have on me, they weren't interested. This morning, which is very cold and raining, all Roo wants to do is play outside. This boy needs a doggy door!
  17. Thunderstorms are very bad things.
  18. If the specialist thinks it's gastrointestinal ask if the bile ducts are blocked.
  19. I'll do so. The issue is getting to it before Bunny does. Part of it is because, I think, he doesn't like the dry food. I'm going to get some of the previous food I fed him to see if it makes a difference.
  20. Bunny takes five minutes to eat hers. Roo takes five minutes to eat most of his. He then runs to the door, has a stampy when he can't get in, does a wee or a poo (I think because of the stampy and generally just outside the back door - eeeew, again), and then continues to stamp until Bunny is let out. She runs to his bowl and starts to eat what he's left (usually some of the dry). At the moment, I pick up the bowl and give it back to him and he'll eat the rest. Should I just put it away?
  21. Now they're sitting on it after weeing. Eeeeew. Here's another issue: they each want the orher's food. Roo eats outside, Bunny inside. Roo will leave his food and bang on the door to get her food. If Bunny is let outside, she'll try to eat his food. I can't feed them together because one will get more food than the other. They don't fight over food, which is good, but one will inevitably get more food.
