Preferred Premium And Super Premiums?
Sheridan replied to stormie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I feed Eagle Pack Holistic Salmon and Anchovy because there's no chicken fat in it. I can't think of another food that has no chicken at all. -
Au contraire. You're automatically assuming that a pit bull wouldn't attack someone. Wrong. All dogs can bite. I have a dog that looks like a teddy bear but I don't assume he is one.

Preferred Premium And Super Premiums?
Sheridan replied to stormie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I recently complained to the vet that the only place I could get Eagle Pack from sold puppies. They offered to get it in for me and frankly, given the range of places where it's available, I'd rather the vet got the money. Still waiting on what changes there are to the formula. If you know what they are, perhaps you could say. Or even explain what you mean by the above? -
All you're doing is making your breed look worse.

What change in recipe? -
I find it interesting that whenever a dog attack happens and the media or a witness claims that the dog is a pitbull 'type' (or similar wording), the pitbull advocates come out in force and vilify the reporter and the witnesses and whoever comments on the story (I full expect to be vilified after this post). They say it can't possibly be a pitbill wot done it because pitbulls are nanny dogs and besides, the only people who can positively identify a pitbull are them. No one else can identify a pitbull, no sirreee. Frankly, unless those who deny a pitbull ever attacked anyone were at the scene of every single dog attack ever, including this one, then they're just speculating along with everyone else. They do their breeds no service at all by vilifying people.

Just looks like a double sided slicker to me.

Dog Allergic To Chicken Any Dry Food Reccomendations

This might be the case. My dog moved states and the change in environment brought about tummy issues. He's now on Eagle Pack Holistic Salmon and Anchovy and is thriving. -

And they wear kevlar. What's with that? It should be called 'throw ball' cos there's not a lot of kicking. -

Honestly, it saved MY sanity !! Hamlet uses one of those soft Italian plastic basket ones.. a size too large, so there's plenty of room for mouth opening/panting. He can still drink... and I can poke treats in thru the holes Meanie Poor Hamlet. 'O horrible, O horrible, most horrible!' -

As soon as I buy a bag of food I transfer it into sealed containers. Grumpy would scoff the lot if he could. -

Oh dear, you're not having a good time at all at the moment! Given the distance you'd have to travel, would you have needed to leave a while ago if anything were to go wrong later? Can you give a vet a call to check? -

Important Alert For Consumers Of Veterinary Medicines
Sheridan replied to Do No Harm's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I was focusing on reality. Please read what you yourself quoted. What I actually said is "The reality is that veterinary research is not reported in the mainstream media". It is a reality that veterinary research is not reported in the mainstream media! And so ...? -

Fair observation. Members of Forums don't necessarily know why someone is coming from the perspective they obviously are, and typed words are not accompanied by visible gestures. For the record, my perspective is not vindictive. I only encourage others to be aware of risks vs benefits and not assume their vet is the ultimate authority on what is best for their dog. For the record, too, my own dog (an Assistance Dog) almost died and so did I only because I had believed and trusted our vet who had misrepresented the necessity of a booster vaccination and insisted it was not only "essential" but "perfectly safe". That was one vet, but then all the others rallied in support of that vet. Subsequently hearing that similar instances have happened to others - and not infrequently, has an affect. Really? I think that we get you're not fond of vets. -
Corny feet, like a hardening and subsequent cracking of the footpads. Photos here. I've not heard of it in Australian irish terriers/ Probably more of a question for Lyndsay but I think a lot of the firey nature of the Irish terrier breeds as a whole, not just the ITs, is nature taking over when nuture (i.e. a firm hand to stop that potential dominance) isn't present.
