Call the rangers.

Sorry, but that just sounds like another dog who's lost its life due to an irresponsible owner.

I can imagine how that would go down with my Grumpy ... -
This is my biggest beef with the no kill movement, it just seems the dogs are taken elsewhere to die in most cases, they have to be honest that the same number of dogs are dying, just in different places. I don't believe the RSPCA has claimed to be no kill, not even in this. Certainly, there are questions to be asked if the ACT RSPCA is just transferring responsibility elsewhere but riding in on your regular anti no kill hobby horse just obsfucates things

Grumpy became frightened by the sound of rain after a storm where the rain was hitting the front windows horizontally. Since then he's associated thunder with the sound of the heavy rain. Not a happy man.
-
The vet feels the same way after looking at the photo. Just after I hung up from him saying that Grumpy hadn't had a go at the bandage all day, the bloody dog came out with the bandage dangling. I've not managed to catch the little bugger to rebandage.

His vet is at work and I've sent a photo. Just waiting to hear back. Not near Bendy, Perrin, but ta for the offer.

I believe the DAS rehoming rate has been cited at something like 90+ per cent.
-
I think the point of dog geek's post is that if they're shunting dogs off to DAS then things haven't changed other than which facility puts them to sleep.

Fair Trading are possibly the only people who could help, I think. This place is a business.

I mush up all tablets and stick them in their food. -
ok the wound site is shaved. do you think some butterflys will hold the skin in place and then banadged as well Yeah, maybe. What's normally used for them? I actually just replaced the bandage I replaced earlier and it's now halfway up his leg. I can get a finger under so I don't think it's too tight.

Grumpy had a cyst removed on his back leg (just a subaceous cyst) but he's had a couple of stitches there. I can't elizabethan collar him because he's panicky. I found the bandage on the bed and after much persuasion and a muzzle managed to get him up on the grooming table to take a look. He's pulled out one of the stitches. Bloody dog. For now, I've sprayed some betadine on it, patted it dry, put some gauze on, and vet wrapped it. Vet won't be open until Tuesday (public holiday), I think, but I don't think I can leave it that long. Or can I? Given the military-style operation it took to get him to the vet in the first place and that my able-bodied helper has buggered off until next week (thanks sis!), I'm not sure how to get him there anyway. Bloody dog.

Yes, where is the RSPCA in all this?
-
I'm still not sure what the point of this is.

This is him: http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/profile.asp?dog=43720 Yes, I think that's the little cuddly one that Merijigs and I met just after we met the RUBIS wolfhound.

Was the minor puppy dachsie a love dapple?

Repeating: because that's how your post read.

No, the two you've met have been dumb. You cannot extrapolate from two dogs that every dog from this place is dumb. They might well be but two is hardly a good sample. As to assuming, you're hardly in a position to get snippy at someone else. What is your problem exactly? I think I can safely say that the oodles from this place are not overly intelligent. How many oodles from this place do you know personally?? Why am I 'not in a position to get snippy at someone else'?? You assumed from my post I was 'running down crossbreeds', which if you knew me at all you would know is rediculous. I own a crossbreed, I always have. I have also rescued and fostered god knows how many crossbreeds, all beautiful dogs. You are the one who took offence to my comments about these oodles being dumb .. fact is they ARE dumb. I didnt say ALL oodles were dumb I said the two i know from THIS puppy farm are dumb. They are also not terribly attractive, particularly the male. I think you should sit back and have a look at your previous post to me. You were very 'snippy', you accused me of running down crossbreeds and inferred that I suggested all crossbreeds are unattractive?? Where did I say that? I said my brothers 2 oodles are not terribly attractive. It seems to me that you are overly sensitive about any negative comments about oodles. This forum is not the place to come and extol the virtues of oodles produced en masse by puppy farmers. Since you missed the point I will repeat it. You don't know that every oodle from this place is dumb. You only know of two. Given there is likely to be hundreds or thousands of them. You know two. I have met nary a one from this place and would not even consider getting an oodle since I am a purebred dog snob but I am not going to assume that every single one is dumb or take your word for it. A sample of two is meaningless. And yes, despite you owning crossbreeds, your post read like you were running them down. To make it simpler, stop making generalisations.

Before you run down crossbreeds, I suggest you be aware that many people on this forum have crossbreeds and that stupidity and eating whatever they feel like trying isn't limited to crossbreeds. There are also many attractive crossbreeds. I have no doubt Rivergum are puppyfarmers but running down crossbreeds wins you no points.

That's a how a friend got her first aussie terrier. Thrown from a moving car then put up for adoption.

Does Anyone Know Canberra/queanbeyan ... Is It Me, Or ...
Sheridan replied to Queanbeyanite's topic in General Dog Discussion
If you're in Queanbeyan, Hamish Cameron at West Queanbeyan is terrific. -
Actually, Charlie loves other dogs (especially puppies). When he was having a bad day, the only thing that perked him up was when his best mate, a beagle, comes over for a visit. they just lay around and snuggle... it very cute. I wouldn't consider getting another dog if I thought it will harm or stress out Charlie out at all. I know it would be harder then normal to have a puppy around with Charlie. But, when the time comes, we are all ready to put in all the work to do it to make sure that everyone is happy. We are thinking stage at the moment. When the time is right to get another puppy... then we won't mind waiting for the right one to come It's amazing how dogs very quickly get over other dogs, especially puppies, when they're sick.
