More treats in the stationary car today after a short walk and though the tail was flat there was only a little bit of salivation. I did spray some Adaptil in the back around 15 minutes beforehand. Don't know if it helped. Roo was inside so he wasn't as loud. Tomorrow I'll put them both in and see if she's the same. I'll also get some Rescue Remedy and there's a product called Calm which has been recommended. Would a thundershirt help at all, do you think? Roo and I ran up and down the walkway pretending we were at a dog show. He was mostly loose lead, which was great, and he even did a stand (as opposed to his natural sit) for me. I managed to stack him (badly) for about 10 seconds!

These featured on an episode of The Supervet. Young couple from Iran who had moved to the UK had two.

Worth a shot. I'll try it tomorrow.

Roova, yes, but it's a different crate. Her home crates (plural) are 36" wire crates but the travel crate is a PP40. I couldn't get a 36" crate in and have two dogs in the car. I'm planning to get a Blackhound variocage but until I resolve what's scaring her there's no point. Today I just sat in the boot with her with the door open, no crate. She was very scared, very flat tail, and she drooled a bit. She ate the treats I gave her but she's very tired now because she gets so stressed. I was all high pitched and happy and loose lead, talking to her the whole time. It didn't help that Roo was howling and barking in the yard about being left out. He also does the same when they're in the car. If I had a front fence I could leave the car open and just let her go in when she felt like it.

No, roundabouts don't help at all. I think it's chicken and egg with Bunny.. She got sick so she got scared and now she gets scared so she gets sick.
-
Is he scared, though? I think this is fear with Bunny. She now associates the crate with fear, I think because she was drooling in the crate when we were at training.
-
???????????????????????????????? Poor Bunny, we went out again tonight and yes, drool as soon as she got into the crate. I have tried putting her on the back seat. I've tried crate on the back seat and in the boot. Tonight she threw up the tablet and the ginger biscuit.

I had an outdoor puppy school for Roo but it was on concrete in an industrial area which was unlikely to have a lot of dogs go there.

I haven't tried that, T. Will have to get some from the market on the weekend. I gave her a car sickness tablet tonight and fed a ginger biscuit. She had some drool but no vomit. We'll be doing lots of car not scary stuff, too, but she has to travel to training twice a week so she will have to get better soon. Plus we have a big trip coming up in a month! I am getting.a Blackhound double crate for the boot. Need to find a solution soon!

I found with Roo yelps didn't help, lower voiced growls have helped. I also taught him kissing so his automatic reaction now is to lick me rather than bite. He does still bite but he seems to realise really quickly that he won't get a treat.

Yep, no food aside from the tiny bit of cheese with thr tablet. She threw up loads and loads of bile.

Our outing today wasn't fabulous. Bunny threw up a lot in the car despite the car sickness tablet. Plus she decided to bark madly at every dog she saw.

Pet Industry Peak Body In Turmoil After Consumers Misled

A practical view: a pet shop owner can choose to be of good ethics and not sell animals or a pet shop owner can choose to be an un scrupulous arsehat. -
Out of all the places I've taken the puppies the farmer's market was best. They hold loads of attention, including from one little girl who just loved Bunny. They met other dog, saw strange things and had a splendid time. We visit an arts market tomorrow.

Sounds lovely, Seren. I must get the video up of Roo dancing in his sleep. Such funny. We went different ways on our walks last night and they weren't quite sure about any of it. But even when giving him his head, Roo was fairly loose on lead. Bunny pulls as we turn into our street and I think it's because she can hear Roo barking in his crate.

I've been wondering about this as Miss Bunny will be my first bitch who is entire. -

Gee, wonder where their puppies will come from ... -
Today's walk was pretty good. I gave him his head for about half then started shoving food into his mouth every few metres. For the majority of the walk back he was entirely loose lead. Still with the food but progress!
-
Did you let him pull, though? I have no issue with the sniffing it's the pulling.
-
How much work do you want to put in if you only have her for a couple weeks? In regards to the flailing, my two do that when I arrive home. I don't open the door until they're sitting. If I get close and they flail, I back away.
-
Roo and his lead training! At 4 months he's incredibly strong so walking on a loose lead is imperative. He is okay when there's no smells to be had but gee, there's so many good smells! He pulls a lot and food is not always a distraction. Any tips?

Puppy report: don't know why Bunny is weeing inside. Not all the time but after she's been out or done a wee and often just inside the door when the door is open. Roo is like most boys; when something takes hold in his little brain it sticks. He is tapping on the back door to go out, good boy.

If you have a look on EBay there's a good range of play pens. I bought one from Crazy Sales for my two for $150-ish and found the same on EBay for $80.00.

Also, if you need bigger ones the Huggies cot bedding pads are nearly twice the size.
