I don't tend to feel his gums on the grounds that I don't want to lose my hand. He's drinking, he's otherwise happy. Stomach seems fine.

Sure, but it's just the shiver. No other symptoms.

Just occasionally I've noticed Grumpy shivering a little even though the room has been very warm, generally in the mornings. Last night he wasn't well, didn't want his dinner or his treats, and he slept on my bed so I could keep an eye on him. During the night he woke up and he was shivering quite badly. Again, it wasn't cold. He was okay this morning and ate the treats I left out for him and a big breakfast to make up for not having his dinner. I googled what it might be and it could be everything from being neurological to weak muscles from arthritis. He doesn't have an ounce of arthritis in him, though, and generally manages to jump on and off the bed without any problems at all. Has anyone come across this before?

I'm sorry to hear your news. Gentle hugs.

I thought improving the breed, and not having sick dogs was the same goal. Then what did you mean by obliterating the breed?

My two adore their mackerel and tuna biscuits. Both are just two cans of Woollies homebrand tuna or mackerel in oil with 3 or 4 cups of wholemeal self-raising flour (or plain flour since it doesn't rise). Add enough water to blend everything in, cook until crisp at 200 C. I keep in the fridge.

A life coach ... Erm, can I just say

It's clear that you don't operate this way but I find odd the sort of semi-suggestion that because a dog would otherwise be dead, an inquirer should just take any old nonsense from a rescue group. If any rescue group operates like this then their dogs won't be adopted anyway.

I have beds for mine all over the house. I, too, am a monster, for that thwarts the natural behaviour to sleep on my bed.

Is there anything that McGreevy isn't an "expert" in?

Trying To Change Dog To Vets All Natural
Sheridan replied to a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Why can't all dogs be like your Grumpy? Can't they just appreciate the expense and trouble we go to to track down these wonderful all natural dog foods and just scoff them down? Some of them are just too much like people. I offered him a piece of banana yesterday and he wasn't interested. -
Canidae Grain Free Salmon Formula
Sheridan replied to Boronia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I was in Pet Barn today. The person who served me said they were considering deleting Eagle Pack from their stock as the suppliers are so erratic. -
Generic, change the name of the breed reviews. Clearly knows nothing about wheatens.

Canidae Grain Free Salmon Formula
Sheridan replied to Boronia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
No update on Eagle Pack? I've resorted to Pro Plan Sensitive, which they eat but I don't think either is overly keen on it. I was going to try Canidae but there's no regular spring itching from Grumpy at the moment so I might leave them on it. -

I've bought some VAN for my two but they get fed canned fish (sardines, mackerel, tuna) with kibble. Grumpy scoffed it down but then he scoffs down anything. Princess Mini turned up her tiny nose at it. -
What Is Your Dog's Favourite Chew Toy?
Sheridan replied to Staranais's topic in General Dog Discussion
Obviously she doesn't approve of Apple products Clearly a PC dog. -
In terms of terriers, my dog's former owner used to go running with him. He said he used to jog on the spot a lot because Grumpy insisted on stopping at every interesting smell. And I have to say, even though we don't run, I do a lot of standing around while Grump makes sure there aren't any vermin and badgers on our walks. I think terriers have to have owners that are a little crazy. *waves to self*
-
Often it means around 10 hours of sleep so they can be bouncy and active aaaaaalllllllll night. Yes, nearly 15-year-old Grumpy dog, I'm looking at you.
-
And the opposite is why I adore wheatens and kerries.
-
But do dogs know we're human or are they just looking to their pack leader? I don't think my two think that they're human; they wouldn't have the concept. They think I'm just one of them, albeit taller with handy access to the food.
-
I don't think Bet wants to 'improve' the breed, I think she doesn't want sick dogs. I thought that would be everyone's goal but maybe I'm wrong.
-
And another issue is nothing is being marketed on the other side to counter it.

Mita, you continually cite UQ as though it's a church and you worship at its altar. Unfortunately, in the real world, academia does not rule. Business interests do; special interest lobby groups do; academia would come a slow third, if it manages to finish at all.

'I used to live in the country so I can shoot dogs in town.' $79.00. That's all this poor family's dog is worth according to the judge.

Nothing on Google News about it.
