kallistar, you take such a genuine interest in others and I just wanted to say I think it's lovely. You always have words of encouragement and support and come across as a very generous person :) x Yes thank you so much for asking. She's doing OK, still hurting but she will be OK. There will be more comps and we will get there :)

Where at ??? & what are you competing in ?? DWDCQ has a double at Woongoolba. Tora is doing Starters in both Freestyle and HTM, Schatzi is doing Intermediate HTM. Good luck for next weekend please remember to let us all know how you go in the ring thanks Thanks will do, not sure why I feel nervous, I think because it's been a while, Tora is new to the sport and they are new routines. It's still great to be back out there though :D super excited as well as nervous! Hi Schatzi Mum, have you had your comp yet? and if so, how did you go? Sadly we had to withdraw due to injury to Schatzi

Which Abba song are you doing?? I am doing Honey, Honey & intend it to be a "take-off" of Abba due to the differences between her & me  I have a pink wig that I bought at the Easter show, some tights & hope to get an Abba type blouse. I also have a long blond wig, but I like the pink one better. If I wanted to imitate the long white boots, I could buy a pair of those "skin" things that runners use on their arms & legs. I was thinking along the lines of soft type shoes, like ballet flats as I am terrified of stepping on my poor dogs paws. I'll match Bindi up with the pink wig. :) Please don't ask me what competition I am going in as I havn't a clue & probably never will...at present it's just for fun. :D make a video, then go back to the drawing board. There's a double comp in Brissie in September ;) ;)

You can use iTunes to save it as an mp3, then it will work. I find if I right click on a song in iTunes there is an option to "Create MP3 Version". If that doesn't work, there are other methods e.g. here are some instructions link OK...so I now have my tune & I have played around with it & really have no clue as to what I am doing. If I want to take out a section in the middle...what do I do ??? If you click and drag the mouse over the bit you want to take out, you can select that bit and ctrl+x or click on Edit then Cut. You may need to zoom in on the music file so you can cut neatly. There are effects you can do, but if you are cutting in a gap in the song you may be OK to just cut.

I love hats too. I think it just finishes of a costume and they also stop my hair from falling in my face  What about wigs :) I've done wigs too, I love a good dress up    I think I have done just about everything there is to do with a costume. I've done capes, wigs, hats, skirts, canes, tiara's, wands, etc and don't get me started on props. I have a love affair with them too. I love your Game of Thrones costume! I forgot about the crown LOL Yes I liked it too but I don't have a photo of that one I thought your robot one was brilliant and your prop was very clever :) Unfortunately Schatzi finds the tempo of that routine too fast these days and she needs something a bit slower. Speaking costumes, I have been searching for the right shirt for a costume for weeks. Looking absolutely everywhere! Finally found it in Vinnies this morning for $4!

Happy to help you do a music cut Sheena if you need a hand. Just let me know, flick me a message on Facebook or something and we can sort it out :) Doing some DWD training with my girls today, it seems that seeing as I wear a hat pretty much whenever we dance, Tora has decided hats = DWD. I put one on just to see how it worked for a costume the other day and felt something on my leg, it was her pawing at me then doing spins and backwards walking!

Yep, exactly the same. It used to be two passes for starters then three, but now it's three for each level. To get a Q, the rules are: "To be awarded a Qualifying Certificate, a competitor must gain the following from at least two of the three judges: (a) a score of at least ten (10) points in each of the three (3) judging categories; and (b) a total score of at least forty-five (45) points." You need to have gotten these from at least two varied judging panels. For a championship you need: "7 (subsequent to Advanced title) with aggregate scores of 160 points or more and including at least 3 different pieces of music"

Novice or Starters? Basically a routine should be over 1 minute and under 4, it is seen that Starters is closer to the 1 minute and Advanced is approaching the 4 minute. In May I have Tora in Starters, her routines are about 1min 30 sec. I then have Schatzi in Intermediate and her routine is around the 3 minute mark. Moves you aren't allowed to do - basically just anything that's not 'safe' No, you don't have to use props, plenty of routines don't and are still awesome routines :) Thanks for that...I assume then that in DWD it is called "starters" & not "novice". I have on my calander that there is a comp at Grafton on the 30th November, but when I mentioned it to Mandy, she said that No it wasn't going to be in Grafton this year. Dogs NSW still have it listed as being there. Anyone have any other idea where it might be being held, if at all. It goes Starters, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced. Not sure what's happening with that comp this year. It used to be held at Camp Tailwaggers, but not sure if it's still on.

Great job!!! Sounds like you've definitely caught the dancing bug!!! Once you've been bitten by the dancing bug you are infected with DWD germs. Symptoms are you mind is often wondering what tricks your dog can do next, what type of music will you use (and how to cut it to suit), what will your costume be and what can you use for props. Your friends and neighbours will think you have lost your mind as you pace out your routines in the backyard with music blaring loudly and you randomly calling commands that make no sense to the someone who is not affected by the disease. But luckily you are not alone, there are many of us out there infected with the DWD disease. We are all struggling to find the only cure ...... the perfect scoring routine. Once you have achieved that you will feel so much better. But by then you have passed on the disease to others close to you. I have just finished reading the section on putting the routine together & it is lucky that I don't have neighbours  I know what music I want to do (Abba) always have, just have to work out a way of putting it together, seeing that I am a techno dinosaur :) LOL I remember when my neighbours saw me dressed in a robot costume - it was like "well that's it! I have to move now" Sheena, happy to help with a music cut if I can. Although I am tearing my hair out atm trying to get a good cut on Schatzi's intermediate HTM music.
