  1. penny174, Kissindra, Benji&Cuddles and pmiller have all got Cavaliers that have had their knees operated on - they have all recovered well and I'm sure if you PM'd them - they would be more than happy to chat with you. Gretel will be able to give you some good advice too - I know pennyw74's dog Izzy had her knees done at the vet recommended by Gretel with great success.
  2. My goodness he is ADORABLE!!
  3. Sounds like a sterile abscess to me - they can occur with any injection not just vaccinations. My Millie usually develops one after any injection. They can take up to a week to come up and go away but will usually resolve on their own. If you are concerned then please see a vet.
  4. I ended up Leukotaping a sock to George at one time - the only way he couldn't get it off. Maybe give that a go?
  5. Ooh let me know what you think Gretel - I am very interested in those too.
  6. I'm so sorry to read this TS. RIP Bruce. Run free boy. So sorry for your loss TS - hope you're all doing ok.
  7. :D Said it before, say it again - damn funny! Love the series - fantastic photos!! The girls are adorable!
  8. Utterly heartbreaking. So sorry for your losses. RIP Dulcie and little ones.
  9. Is that on the corner of Ranford & Warton Rds?
  10. Advantage and Advantix both have the same active ingredient for fleas - Imidicloprid (or however you spell it) so both will work the same. Like Clyde suggested - I would be investigating other reasons for the itchies.
  11. Hi all. I thought I had posted in this thread but apparently not! I'm in Southern River with my 2 Cavs and part time husband. We moved to Perth from Nth Qld in July so still fairly new to the area.
  12. That's great news! Bet your Mum was stoked too! I might have to look into this too as I have 2 Cavaliers with non existent recall and I would dearly love to change that.
  13. EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW! Those sent shivers down my spine!
  14. Welcome! Great breed choice! You're in for some wonderful years ahead with your new pup. Does he have a name yet? Personally I didn't crate train but I know many people did and had great success. I was a sucker and had both of mine on my bed - now they are right bed hogs! Consistency will be your friend and not letting the cute little face win. Please come and join us in the Cav thread - feel free to ask as many questions as you like - none are silly.
  15. My George had surgery for the same condition compounded with mild entropion about 12 months ago. His eyes will never be perfect but they are 110% on what they were and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. We were lucky in that the hairs were only causing irritiation and occasional infection rather than lasting scarring or ulceration. I paid about $1700 for the surgery as I opted to go with an eye specialist rather than a GP vet but the specialist did say that most GP vets are more than capable of the surgery. Like I said - I opted for the specialist as that is what they do and they have the proper equipment. George had dissolving stitches which literally fell out 2 weeks later and eye cream was the only other thing I had to do. I took George back to my regular vet as the specialist was a travelling one and he was more than happy for me to do so.
  16. Those are great photos Aimee - and her dress is adorable! Good buy!! I'm impressed you got Ruby to stay - mine would have lost interest!
  17. Rest easy Bo. Run free ;) Persephone.
  18. Awww look at that cute little munchkin! Georgea is adorable ILBB! Glad to hear that things are going so well with her too!

Annes I am so sorry for your loss. RIP Beau
  21. Couldn't agree with this more. ;) Georgea will at least have a loving, wonderful home now with someone who will do their very best for her. No it doesn't sound like her parents were health tested however that doesn't mean that your girl will have any problems. Just be vigilant (I'm sure you will be) and have her checked over regularly. ;)
  22. Cat - I just spoke to my vet friend and she recommends AES too. to you and your boy.
