Hi Cachorrita, Eagle Pack Holistic Select is very good. My dog doesn't get gas. His poops are firm and easy to pick up. Eagle Pack diets have been listed consistently in the Top Ten in "The Whole Dog Journal" American website. Out of the 10 that Eagle Pack had something going on that was lacking in the others (Holistic Wellness for Life). The Holistic Select Formula received rave reviews in "Good Dog Magazine" forums on Eagle Pack http://www.terrificpets.com/forum/24640.asp, http://www.pets.ca/forum/printthread.php?t=7129 The following website has important information about commercial dog foods. Egle Pack Holistic select is also listed as one of the better foods. http://www.dogaware.com/dogfeeding.html#commercial -
 <That made me laugh.I wonder if the other dogs who are on Eagle Pack whether natural, normal or holistic select have gas problems? So far, Goldielover's dogs eat Eagle Pack (Natural formula) and don't have smelly gas. I never noticed my dog has one at all. Could be the food then. Eagle Pack added digestive Enzymes. The Benefits of Digestive Enzymes -Aids in digestibility by making nutrients more bioavailable to the animal. -Increase nutrient availability. -Reduces flatulence/gas. These enzymes assist in the breakdown of feedstuffs into smaller, more readily absorbed nutrients. By aiding in the digestive process, dogs that may be predisposed to digestive upset will have fewer problems. The two enzyme-bearing ingredients in Eagle Pack are Aspergillus Oryzae Fermentation Solubles and Bacillus Subtillus Fermentation Solubles.

I can imagine the smell when dogs pass gas. For some reason, I haven't experienced my dog passing gas before. I just asked my husband if he's ever noticed it before and he said NO. I feed him Eagle Pack Holistic Select mix with Innova dry. When the Innova runs out, I'll just stay with Eagle Pack Holistic. He gets hormone free and antibiotic free eggs once or twice a week. For a snack, he gets carrots, brocolli, apples and sometimes yoghurt containing a living culture of healthy bacteria.

When my dog ate my nighty in to pieces as picture shown above, I called the vet and he said that I didn't need to bring him in, but keep a close look for a couple of days and to feed him more than normal. I also gave him lots of olive oil to help him pass. But if your dog ate the whole flannel in one piece, that's not the same as little pieces. I totally agree wih Erny where he said " the flannel may remain in the gut and rot, setting up toxicity ..... "
-
This is what my Japanese Spitz ate back in March. The pieces came out bit by bit for a week. The other day my husband caught him was eating a towel. Luckily he only ate a small piece then when my husband caught him.

Reviews about Eagle Pack. Overall, it is one of the best kibbles available. http://www.rateitall.com/i-55736-eagle-pack.aspx forums on Eagle Pack http://www.terrificpets.com/forum/24640.asp, http://www.pets.ca/forum/printthread.php?t=7129 If you are concerned about "Corn" in Eagle Pack food, please read the following website http://www.greatdanelady.com/articles/the_corn_myth.htm I feed the Holistic Select to my dog. His coat is beautiful soft and shiny. His skin is nice and healthy. I gave some sample to my sister's dogs and within a week they stopped scratching. They used to scratch madly and had bad odour. My sister is so impressed with the food and she said she should have fed them Eagle Pack holistic a long time ago. The following website has important information about commercial dog foods. Hi EaglePack, are you Amba?

I spoke to Kerry from Pet Deli yesterday. She said that the holistic duck in medium size will be on special the end of next week. I think it will be 15% off. I got a few of my friends and people I know from when I take Panda out for a walk to order Eagle Pack from Pet Deli. They probably thought I was a sales rep for Eagle Pack the way I speak so highly about the food I gave away about 4 kg in total to three people I know who take their dogs for walk. I gave them more than a kg each to last a few days to a week. God, that was about $40 worth. I hope the dogs are on Eagle Pack now. My dog eats about 2kg every 8 days. Thanks to Amba, she's going to send me samples of holistic lamb and duck next week. Panda loves the holistic fish more than the chicken. If he likes the duck, I'll get 3 bags in the medium size end of next week so I can get 15% discount.

Thanks, Tassie and Miranda for the reply. I just called the vets and he said that he'd give him the shot once a year but if I prefer not to, then the dog should get a blood test to see his antibody level. If it's high enough, then he won't need to have the vaccination. He suggests to repeat this every year.
-
I thought that C5 vaccination includes Kennel cough, Hep,Parvo all in one anyway? So which vaccination should the dog have annually and which should not have yearly? Also, my dog is due for his first Annual booster on the 3rd of July this year. He had his last vaccination at 16 weeks old on 3rd July 2005. After reading all the posts about the danger of vaccinations, is it necessary to give him the annual booster at 16 months old?

My boy went through a 15kg bag of Holistic chicken. He's just about to finish Holistic fish 6.8kg bag. I'm going to get the holistic duck next time. I hope he likes it.

The holistic selections don't contain corn. Holistic chicken is suitable for both puppies and adults. My dog is on holistic seafood now, he seems to like it more than the chicken. Works out cheaper to buy a medium bag or a large bag.

Oh god! my dog had a similar symptom yesterday from about 3.30pm. He was running in and out the courtyard and couldn't sit still for a minute. I didn't know what was wrong with him then till he vomited at 10pm. I could see that he was uncomfortable, scared, panicing, running about, but had no idea that was the sign of bloating. I was quite stressed from watching his behaviour as he was also barking at the front door. He was back to normal after he brought up the food at 10pm. How many 'De-Gas' tablets should I give to a 13kg dog?

Hi Miranda. Try the Eagle Pack Holistic Chicken. It doesn't contain corn. All the Holistic selections are great and don't contain corn. My dog was on the Holistic chicken which is suitable for puppies and adult. He's on Holistic Seafood now.
